Genesis revealed the Magma GT Concept on November 20, 2025, as a statement of its future performance direction—not as a confirmed production car. The two-seat, mid-rear-engine grand tourer concept returned with a new interior at Le Mans in June 2026, alongside a separate exploratory Magma GT3 study. In September 2026, Genesis said the Magma GT made its first dynamic appearance at a hillclimb in Italy. The company has not announced production plans or detailed powertrain specifications.
What is the Genesis Magma GT Concept?
The Magma GT is Genesis’s design concept for a two-passenger luxury grand tourer and a symbolic foundation for the brand’s performance direction. Genesis introduced it at Le Castellet, France, on November 20, 2025, calling it the brand’s first “pure sports car typology.” The company frames its approach as “Effortless Performance,” emphasizing balance and confidence rather than presenting the car as a specification-led production model. Genesis’s unveiling announcement described it as a halo for the next decade of performance development and signaled long-term GT racing ambitions.
Luc Donckerwolke, Genesis President and Chief Creative Officer, said: “The Magma GT Concept represents the pinnacle of our performance vision and stands as a symbol of our commitment to true motorsport capability. It isn’t defined by raw aggression or uncompromising speed — it is defined by balance.”
What does the concept look like?
Genesis describes a low front, an elongated sloping roofline and broad rear fenders. The cabin narrows into a boat-tail shape, while canards integrated with the headlamps, G-Matrix aerodynamic patterns and a rear aero structure complete the exterior design. These are the company’s descriptions of the concept; they are not independently measured claims about downforce, speed or handling.

Genesis identifies the layout as mid-rear-engine, a configuration it links to the car’s grand-touring character and its GT racing ambition. The company has not published an engine specification or other detailed powertrain information.
What changed at Le Mans in 2026?
At Le Mans in June 2026, Genesis showed the Magma GT with an all-new interior. The cabin uses a twin-cockpit layout and driver-focused architecture, with an analog instrument cluster inspired by motor-racing timekeeping and tactile controls. Genesis presented these as design features, not as confirmation of a production cabin or final equipment list. The company’s Magma GT concept page and Le Mans announcement document the update.

How is the Magma GT3 related?
The Magma GT3 Concept is a separate, exploratory study introduced at Le Mans alongside the road-focused Magma GT. Genesis says it explores GT3 regulations and performance-led race architecture; it is not described as a race conversion based on a production road car.
Genesis’s listed race-focused features include widened tracks, a front splitter, enlarged ducts, a fin mounted on the door, a fixed wing and a diffuser. The company says the GT3 study’s technical architecture, components and potential development paths have not been defined. It has not announced a customer race car or a production Magma GT.

Is the Genesis Magma GT going into production?
Genesis has not confirmed that the Magma GT will enter production. Its official announcements present the car as a concept and a future performance direction, without a production date, price, engine specification or power output. The GT3 concept is also exploratory: Genesis has not confirmed a customer race car or a defined development program. Treat any more specific production or powertrain claims as unconfirmed unless Genesis announces them.
