Genesis unveiled the GV60 Magma as a production car on November 20, 2025, calling it the brand’s first high-performance production model. The electric crossover pairs a wider, lower body with Genesis-quoted Boost Mode output of up to 478 kW and 790 Nm. US pricing and range figures, and the UK delivery plan announced in February 2026, are market-specific.
What Genesis revealed
Genesis introduced the GV60 Magma at Circuit Paul Ricard in Le Castellet, France. It said the production model was based on the GV60 Magma Concept and represented its “Luxury High Performance” direction. The reveal marked a move from concept to production vehicle, rather than another styling preview. Genesis’s reveal announcement described it as the company’s first high-performance production model.
Luc Donckerwolke, Genesis Chief Creative Officer, described Magma as “the superhero of Genesis; a bionic cocktail between the values of the original model, the donor vehicle and this extra facet.”
How powerful and fast is the GV60 Magma?
Genesis’s November 2025 reveal release quoted combined front- and rear-motor output of 448 kW (609 hp) and 740 Nm, rising in Boost Mode to 478 kW (650 hp) and 790 Nm. It gave a top speed of 264 km/h and a 0–200 km/h time of 10.9 seconds with Launch Control. Those are manufacturer figures, not independent test results.

A later Genesis technical deep dive, published March 17, 2026, specified maximum output of 650 PS (641 hp), torque of 790 Nm, and up to 20,920 rpm. It quoted 0–100 km/h in 3.4 seconds, 0–200 km/h in 10.9 seconds, and a 264 km/h top speed. Genesis says Boost Mode provides maximum output for up to 15 seconds. The deep dive uses PS, a different unit from mechanical horsepower; its 650 PS (641 hp) should not be conflated with the reveal release’s stated 650 hp. Genesis’s March 2026 technical details also describe five drive modes:
- Range, Comfort and Sport: the other three modes in the lineup.
- Sprint: the more aggressive of the two Magma-exclusive modes, according to Genesis.
- GT: Genesis’s grand-touring setting, intended to balance cruising and acceleration.
What makes the Magma look different?
The reveal car has a wider stance, wider fenders, redesigned front and rear bumpers, and a body height 20 mm lower than the standard GV60. Genesis specified Magma-exclusive 21-inch forged wheels and 275 mm tires. These are design and equipment differences; appearance alone does not establish handling or braking performance.

The US product page additionally lists Drift Mode, a wing-type rear spoiler, 10-way customizable suede front bucket seats, Virtual Gear Shift, a 27-inch OLED cockpit and a built-in NACS charging port. Genesis labels some imagery as non-US vehicles or optional features, so pictured equipment should not be assumed standard in every market. US price, range and charging
Genesis’s US page identifies the vehicle as a 2027 GV60 Magma and lists a starting MSRP of $69,950, an EPA-estimated range of up to 222 miles, and an 84.0 kWh battery. Genesis says charging from 10% to 80% can take as little as 18 minutes when using a 350 kW/800 V DC ultra-fast charger. That is a manufacturer-stated best-case charging time with the specified charger, not a guarantee for every charging stop or condition. The page also lists a built-in NACS port. Genesis US specifications are the source for these figures.

When will the GV60 Magma be available?
Availability statements depend on the market and the date of the announcement. Genesis Motor UK’s February 24, 2026 release described UK specifications including an 84 kWh battery and 650 PS, and said first customer deliveries were planned for the second half of 2026. That was a UK plan stated at that date, not confirmation of delivery timing everywhere. Read the UK announcement.
The US page calls the car a 2027 model and provides a starting MSRP, but the cited US page does not establish a specific on-sale date. Buyers should check with Genesis or a retailer in their own market for current ordering and delivery information.

What the announced figures do—and do not—tell you
The cited specifications are Genesis claims, not independent instrumented tests. They provide a useful basis for understanding the announced power, acceleration, range and charging capability, but do not establish real-world range, charging performance across conditions, or a comparative advantage over rival EVs. For a meaningful cross-shopping comparison, use vehicles from the same market and model year, and compare certified range cycles, charging conditions, acceleration measurements, price and included equipment on the same basis.
