A May 2024 report described a sportier Geely Galaxy L6, called the Sports Edition, with bold exterior details and a claimed 1,370 km combined driving range. That figure—and the reported 125 km pure-electric range—should be treated as claims from the report, not as independently tested results or confirmed specifications for a retail model. The available sources do not confirm that the Sports Edition went on sale.
What the Sports Edition report describes
Gizmochina reported on May 16, 2024, that a sportier Galaxy L6 had appeared in China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) vehicle announcements. Its account describes the variant as having a brighter, more assertive look than the standard sedan:
- Orange or light-yellow paint options.
- Black accents on the bumpers and side skirts.
- A fixed rear spoiler and black wheels.
- Contrasting red or yellow brake calipers.
The same report attributes a Thor Hybrid 8848 system to the car, combining a 1.5T hybrid engine with a DHT Pro electric drive. These are details reported by Gizmochina; the available sources do not include a directly reviewed MIIT filing or a Geely specification sheet confirming them. Gizmochina’s May 16, 2024 report
Reported range, performance and consumption figures
Gizmochina gave the Sports Edition a 125 km pure-electric range and a 1,370 km combined driving range. It also reported a 0–100 km/h time of 6.3 seconds, a top speed of 247 km/h and fuel consumption of 4.55 L/100 km.

The report excerpt does not identify a test cycle for its range or consumption figures. They therefore cannot establish what an owner would achieve in real-world driving, and they should not be compared directly with figures measured under a stated cycle. Gizmochina’s report
How it differs from the L6 EM-i on Geely’s current page
Geely’s official Galaxy L6 page currently presents the L6 EM-i as a plug-in hybrid and lists versions with 60 km and 140 km of CLTC pure-electric range. Those are specifications for the EM-i lineup shown on the official page, not confirmation of the Sports Edition’s reported 125 km range. The page does not list a Sports Edition. The two sets of figures have different stated bases: Geely identifies the EM-i electric ranges as CLTC figures, while the Sports Edition report does not specify a test cycle in the available excerpt. They are not a like-for-like comparison. Nor does the reported 1,370 km combined range independently establish the Sports Edition’s retail specification.

The available sources do not establish a retail launch, current price, sales market or availability for the Sports Edition. The 2024 report described an MIIT announcement appearance and said official pricing had not been announced at the time. Geely’s current L6 page shows the EM-i lineup rather than the Sports Edition, so it does not resolve whether the reported variant was later sold.

A separate report covered the standard Galaxy L6 launch in September 2023 and also cited a 1,370 km comprehensive-range figure. That earlier figure concerns the standard L6 launch; it is not independent confirmation of the Sports Edition’s later reported specification.
