The Four Wheel Campers Hawk+ is a flatbed pop-up camper designed for heavy-duty pickups carrying a 7-foot flatbed tray. Its 40-gallon fresh-water tank and 5-gallon grey-water tank support the maker’s “self-contained” description, but a toilet and the largest power upgrades are options, not proof of a fully equipped standard build. Before buying, confirm fitment, actual configured weight, payload and out-the-door price with Four Wheel Campers or a dealer.
What is the Hawk+?
Four Wheel Campers describes the Hawk+ as its first model in the lineup with full self-containment. It is a pop-up camper built for a heavy-duty pickup with a 7-foot flatbed tray, rather than a slide-in camper for a conventional pickup bed. The manufacturer’s May 14, 2025 launch announcement characterized it as an expanded version of its flatbed offering; that is the company’s positioning, not an independent comparison.
The maker advertises sleeping room for three to four adults, with a standard queen cabover bed measuring 72 by 77 inches and a lower bed area measuring 37 by 77 inches. Its current model listing gives body dimensions of 100 inches long by 81 inches wide, a 90-inch floor length, 62 inches of height when down, and 6 feet 6 inches of interior headroom when popped up. What truck does the Hawk+ fit?
Four Wheel Campers says the Hawk+ is intended for heavy-duty trucks equipped with a 7-foot flatbed tray. Its official tour page gives Ford F-250 and F-350, Ram 3500, Chevrolet 2500 and 3500, and GMC 2500 and 3500 as examples. Before committing, provide the manufacturer or dealer with the truck’s exact year, make, model, cab and chassis configuration, tray dimensions and payload information. Ask them to confirm fitment and the weight of the specific build, including installation and selected options. The published pages do not calculate payload margin for an individual truck.
How much does the Hawk+ weigh?
Four Wheel Campers’ current model listing gives a base dry weight of 1,882 pounds. Its live configurator displayed a weight of 1,425 pounds alongside a build when accessed in 2026. The company’s published information does not explain the difference, so neither number should be treated as the confirmed weight of a particular camper. Dry weight is only one part of the truck’s payload calculation. The actual margin also depends on the truck, flatbed, installation, options, occupants, water and other cargo. Have the dealer confirm the camper’s approved fitment and compare the loaded combination with the truck’s payload rating.
How much water does the Hawk+ hold, and is it self-contained?
The current Hawk+ listing specifies 40 gallons of fresh water and a 5-gallon grey-water tank. Four Wheel Campers’ May 2025 launch announcement highlighted the integrated grey-water tank as a first for the company and tied it to the self-contained claim. These tanks establish onboard fresh- and grey-water capacity; they do not mean a toilet is included.

The configurator lists toilet-related equipment separately, including a Thetford 135 Porta Potti and other package options. What power equipment is standard, and what is optional?
The configurator’s standard-equipment list includes a single lithium battery, a modern 12-volt system with truck charging, 120-volt shore power with a 30-amp converter, solar pre-wiring and an exterior power panel. The launch announcement describes substantially larger capacities as available options—not as the standard configuration:

Four Wheel Campers says the optional power arrangement can support off-grid air conditioning and induction cooking. The launch announcement also lists an optional inset two-burner portable induction stove. These are manufacturer claims about capability, not tested runtime guarantees. How long equipment runs depends on the selected battery and charging setup, weather, appliances and usage. The configurator separately lists roof-mounted 12-volt air conditioning and electrical upgrades, so confirm the exact components and price in your quote. The launch announcement also describes USB and USB-C outlets, external 12-volt and 120-volt outlets, and a dedicated exterior DC port for Starlink Mini. That port is a preparation or connection feature; it does not include Starlink equipment or internet service.

What space, storage and standard equipment does it offer?
Four Wheel Campers says the Hawk+ adds six inches of floor, counter and cabinet space, plus six inches of dinette seating, compared with the original Hawk Flatbed. The company also advertises seating for up to four at the dinette, more than 40 cubic feet of stowable interior storage (excluding flatbed-tray storage), a front counter or pantry, and pass-through exterior storage with a flip-down table. The configurator’s listed standard features include:
- Maple cabinets, Baltic Brown countertops and grey ash linoleum.
- A 65-liter AC/DC compressor refrigerator/freezer, rear dinette, sink and stove.
- A roof vent fan and the listed fresh- and grey-water tanks.
- Aluminum exterior siding, a one-piece roof, welded aluminum frame, insulated walls, roof and floor, and a vinyl pop-up liner.
- Safety detectors, in addition to the listed electrical equipment.
Standard equipment and availability can change, and a configurator list does not replace the specification for the camper being ordered. Have the dealer’s build sheet identify included equipment and every paid option.
How much does a Hawk+ cost?
When accessed in 2026, Four Wheel Campers’ model listing showed a starting price of $45,995 USD. Its live configurator displayed an estimated model price of $47,850 with no options selected, alongside a 4% tariff surcharge field. These are different price displays, not interchangeable out-the-door quotes. The configurator says the final amount can vary with state tax, delivery, documentation and title fees, and tariffs. The configurator offers additional equipment such as installation, mechanical jacks, solar and electrical upgrades, air conditioning, an external propane port, rear MOLLE panel and gear mounts, and packages for heating, hot water, shower or cassette toilet. The Thetford portable toilet is also listed as an option. Option pricing and availability may change; have each selected item and its price stated in the quote.

- Truck approval: Confirm that the exact truck, chassis, cab, tray and suspension are approved for the Hawk+.
- Loaded payload: Get the weight for the selected build and account for the tray, installation, occupants, water, accessories and cargo when checking the truck’s payload.
- Included equipment: Separate standard items from options, particularly the toilet, air conditioning, expanded electrical system and cooking equipment.
- Final price: Request a written out-the-door figure that identifies options and applicable taxes, delivery, fees and tariff charges.
- Water and power plan: Match tank capacity and the selected electrical configuration to how you camp; do not infer a particular appliance runtime from maximum advertised capacities.
