Drive Tesla Canada reported 6,047 Ford U.S. EV sales in Q3 2026, citing Ford’s U.S. sales tables. That was 80.2% below the 30,612 reported for Q3 2025 and 38.0% below the 9,746 reported for Q2 2026. The figures are reported U.S. sales, not global deliveries. Drive Tesla Canada’s Q3 2026 report provides the EV totals and model figures; Ford’s official Q3 article does not include those figures in its text.

The year-over-year percentage is striking partly because Q3 2025 was an unusually strong base. Ford called its 30,612 EV sales that quarter a record, up 30.2%, and reported 20,177 Mustang Mach-E sales and 10,005 F-150 Lightning sales. Drive Tesla Canada’s model-level breakdown attributes 5,574 sales to the Mustang Mach-E, 289 to the F-150 Lightning and 184 to the E-Transit in Q3 2026. The reported year-over-year declines were 72.4%, 97.1% and 57.2%, respectively.

These model counts sum to 6,047, matching the reported overall EV total. The Lightning had the steepest percentage drop, while the Mach-E remained the largest contributor by units.
How did EV sales compare with Ford’s wider quarter?
Ford reported 509,764 total U.S. vehicle sales in Q3 2026, down 6.6% from a year earlier. It said sales were essentially unchanged after adjusting for planned Escape and Corsair phase-outs, against an industry decline of about 1%. Ford also reported an estimated 12.1% retail share after excluding those planned phase-outs. Its release emphasized the wider company’s retail share, trucks, SUVs and selected hybrid results rather than publishing EV totals. Using the cited totals, EVs represented about 1.2% of Ford’s 509,764 reported Q3 2026 sales. For comparison, Ford reported 545,522 total U.S. sales in Q3 2025, making its record 30,612 EVs about 5.6% of that quarter’s total. These percentages are arithmetic from the cited figures, not separate Ford-reported share statistics.

Ford’s Q2 2026 SEC filing says the company had announced a capacity and roadmap reset in December 2025 that included ending production of the current-generation F-150 Lightning. That is relevant context for the model’s future, but the filing predates the Q3 sales report and does not establish that the production decision caused the quarter’s decline. The evidence available here does not isolate why customers bought fewer Ford EVs in Q3. Drive Tesla Canada offers an interpretation that Q3 2025 buyers were seeking the $7,500 federal EV tax credit before its September 30, 2025 expiration, but that is a secondary-source explanation, not proof that the incentive timing accounts for the full year-over-year fall. The figures establish the size and distribution of the decline, not a single cause.

In its Q3 2026 sales article, Ford said eligible buyers of a new 2026 Mustang Mach-E may choose a complimentary home charging station with standard installation or $1,500 in bonus cash under the extended Ford Power Promise.
