Was the Fisker PEAR available to buy?

Fisker Group Inc. filed for Chapter 11 on June 17, 2024, and Fisker Inc. and other U.S. subsidiaries filed on June 19, according to the company’s SEC filing. TechCrunch reported that Fisker stopped paying the engineering firm working on PEAR in May 2024 and later entered liquidation proceedings. The sources reviewed do not include a primary bankruptcy record explicitly cancelling the PEAR, so the careful description is unreleased and unconfirmed—not formally cancelled by a court.
What was the announced Fisker PEAR price?
The announced price was a historical target, not an MSRP or orderable price. Foxconn’s May 13, 2021 announcement said Project PEAR would enter the market below $30,000 before incentives. Fisker’s 2023 release later gave a target below $29,900 before incentives. Its release also said U.S. pricing excluded delivery, finance and government charges, and could change with configuration.

What features and design did Fisker announce?
Fisker presented the PEAR as a smaller crossover than the Ocean, with a single-motor rear-wheel-drive option or a dual-motor all-wheel-drive option and two battery-pack choices. Announced design plans included a “Houdini” trunk, a SolarSky panoramic roof, a low beltline, a wraparound windscreen and interior storage features. These were described features of a planned vehicle, not confirmation of final production equipment.

Fisker’s follow-up announcement said new PEAR photos were available and credited the imagery to Fisker Inc. Such images should be identified as development designs or prototypes unless an individual image establishes a more specific status; the release does not show that the pictured vehicle is a final production car.
