The U.S. 2026 Kia Sportage refresh brought updated styling and cabin technology across gas, hybrid, and plug-in-hybrid versions. Kia unveiled it on November 21, 2024; by October 2026, the automaker had also announced 2027 gas Sportage pricing and a few X-Line changes. The 2027 gas model starts at $28,990 before destination, while current 2027 hybrid pricing is not established here.
What’s new on the 2026 Kia Sportage?
Kia described the refresh as an extensive set of design, technology, and convenience updates. Its November 21, 2024 announcement said: “The 2026 Kia Sportage compact SUV debuted today at the Los Angeles Auto Show (LAAS) with an extensive list of enhancements in design, innovation, technology and convenience.” Kia America’s debut announcement covered gas (ICE), turbo-hybrid (HEV), and turbo plug-in-hybrid (PHEV) versions.
Exterior and cabin changes
The 2026 refresh features redesigned front and rear bumpers, stacked LED headlamps, amber Star Map daytime running lights, Star Map rear lights, and new available wheel designs. Inside, Kia highlighted a curved 12.3-inch display, over-the-air updates, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. A 10-inch head-up display is available on some configurations. Equipment depends on trim and powertrain, so these features should not be read as standard across every Sportage.
Three powertrains, different trim lineups
Kia listed separate trim ranges for each 2026 powertrain. The hybrid lineup added S and X-Line trims for that model year. X-Line, X-Pro, and all-wheel-drive models gain Terrain Mode with Snow, Mud, and Sand settings, according to Kia.

Trim names alone do not establish which specific display, comfort, or driver-assistance features a vehicle includes. Check the equipment for the exact model year, trim, and drivetrain before comparing vehicles.
How much room does the Sportage offer?
Kia publishes up to 41.3 inches of rear legroom and up to 39.6 cubic feet of cargo capacity behind the second row for the refreshed Sportage. These are manufacturer-published maximums, not independent measurements. Kia says a dual-level cargo floor is standard on gas and hybrid models but unavailable on the PHEV.

What changed for the 2027 gas Sportage?
The 2027 announcement is a useful update to the 2026-first-look framing: it establishes that 2027 gas models had been announced by October 2026, rather than making the 2026 refresh the newest model year. Kia says most gas models carry over. The X-Line newly gets a panoramic sunroof and Smart Power Liftgate as standard, and Road Rider Brown with an optional two-tone roof is new. These are Kia-announced model details, not a full account of every trim’s equipment.

What is known about 2026 hybrid pricing and performance?
Kia America announced a $30,490 starting MSRP for the 2026 Sportage Hybrid, excluding destination. That is a historical model-year price, not a current 2027 hybrid quote; no 2027 hybrid price is established here. See Kia America’s 2026 Hybrid pricing release.
Kia’s 2026 Sportage Hybrid brochure lists a 232-hp 1.6-liter turbo-hybrid powertrain and 271 lb-ft of combined torque, and estimates 35 mpg combined for AWD.
