Verified quarter-mile results for 2024 models
The table lists the relevant results that can be tied to a named 2024 vehicle and test source. Elapsed time is the time to cover a quarter mile; trap speed is the vehicle’s speed at the finish when reported. A smaller elapsed time is quicker, but configuration and test method matter when comparing entries.

Why this is not a 15-car ranking
The title’s implied list requires 15 verified 2024 entries with attributable test times. The available TopSpeed search result exposes the article title but not its ranked vehicles, configurations, times, or source notes. MotorTrend’s accessible leaderboard is explicitly a multi-year list of the quickest cars it has tested, so it cannot establish a 2024-only top 15. MotorTrend’s ranking supports the Sapphire figure above, but not the missing entries or their order.
Accordingly, the four results here should be treated as documented examples, not as the 15 fastest 2024 sports cars or a definitive order. A complete ranking would need a source for every vehicle and should identify model year, trim, transmission, elapsed time, and trap speed where available. It should also separate measured test results from manufacturer claims or estimates.

How to compare quarter-mile times fairly
A quarter-mile result belongs to a particular vehicle, setup, driver, and procedure; it is not a fixed property of a model name. Testing outlets can differ in rollout treatment, surface, weather correction, and run selection, all of which can affect a cross-publication comparison.
MotorTrend’s approach
MotorTrend says its testers collect Vbox data at 20 Hz or 100 Hz, usually test on a flat, level surface in dry, temperate, relatively still weather, and may vary the number of passes. It generally reports a vehicle’s single best acceleration performance, or the best pair on a windy day. Car and Driver’s approach
Car and Driver describes measuring acceleration on street-condition surfaces, averaging the best run in opposite directions to account for wind, and correcting results to 60 degrees Fahrenheit at sea level. What to check in any leaderboard
- Read elapsed time and trap speed together when both are reported: they describe different aspects of the run.
- Check the exact model year, trim, transmission, and performance package; the Mustang results show how much the transmission alone can distinguish tested configurations.
- Look for the testing outlet and disclosed method, including rollout, weather treatment, surface, and whether the figure is the best pass or an average.
- Do not mix instrumented results with manufacturer claims or estimates without labeling the difference.
