The Fantic Caballero 700 has a credible recipe for catching American riders’ attention: Yamaha’s 689 cc CP2 parallel twin, scrambler-style proportions, spoked wheels, and switchable cornering ABS and traction control. But the bigger question—whether U.S. buyers can actually purchase one—remains unanswered by Fantic’s published information reviewed here. The Italian price is not a U.S. price, and a U.S.-English product page does not confirm American dealer availability.
What the Caballero 700 is
Fantic describes the Caballero 700 as a scrambler intended to balance road and off-road use. Its official U.S.-English product page identifies the engine as Yamaha’s CP2 parallel twin and lists a liquid-cooled, four-stroke, two-cylinder 689 cc powerplant with a six-speed transmission, wet multi-disc clutch, and twin stainless-steel exhaust. These are manufacturer specifications, not independent test findings.
Fantic claims 74 hp at 9,000 rpm and peak torque of 70 Nm at 6,500 rpm, with 60 Nm sustained through 8,000 rpm. The figures suggest a broad midrange on paper, but they do not establish how the motorcycle performs in real-world riding. Fantic also cautions that measured values can vary with instrumentation and environmental conditions.

How the electronics and chassis shape its appeal
Rider aids with customization
Fantic lists three riding modes: Street, Offroad, and Custom. The company says Custom mode lets the rider adjust ABS and traction-control settings, including fully deactivating them. Because the systems are switchable, riders should understand how the selected settings affect braking and traction before riding on loose surfaces or public roads.
Scrambler-sized wheels and suspension travel
The 19-inch front and 17-inch rear spoked-wheel combination, paired with 150 mm of travel at each end, gives the bike a specification set suited to mixed-surface aspirations. Those numbers alone do not establish off-road capability, ground clearance, suspension quality, or comfort; the published material does not include independent test results for those traits.

Design: heritage with a modern equipment list
Fantic says the styling references the Caballero 125 RC from 1974 to 1976. It points to details including a round headlamp, yellow competition-style side plates, CNC-machined plates, and carbon exhaust protection. The current U.S.-English page describes red and matt metallic blue finishes, though colors may vary by country or model year. See the official product page and Fantic’s Caballero 700 brochure for the manufacturer’s descriptions.
Could it take America by storm?
It has ingredients that could make it interesting to U.S. riders: a familiar Yamaha engine designation, substantial claimed output, recognizable scrambler styling, and a useful mix of road-oriented electronics and mixed-surface hardware. That is a product-level case, not evidence of likely sales. No independently published U.S. sales or market-size statistic is established by the material available here, and no sourced competitor specifications support ranking it against other scramblers.

Most importantly, the reviewed official information does not confirm whether or when the Caballero 700 will be sold through authorized U.S. dealers. Fantic’s U.S.-English site path and regional selector show a U.S.-oriented web destination; they do not establish retail availability, U.S. road certification, dealer inventory, or delivery timing. The page material reviewed gives no U.S. MSRP.
What the listed price means—and does not mean
Fantic’s Italy product page lists €9,290 including 22% VAT, with delivery and transport charges excluded. That is an Italy-market price, not U.S. MSRP, and it does not establish the cost of importation, U.S. certification, local dealer fees, or availability. Check the official Italy page for the market-specific listing.

What U.S. buyers should verify
Before treating the Caballero 700 as a U.S. purchase option, ask Fantic or an authorized U.S. dealer for direct confirmation of:
- Whether the model is being sold in the United States, and for which model year.
- Its applicable U.S. emissions and road certification.
- U.S. MSRP, order status, and expected delivery timing.
- Parts availability and service support.
Fantic lists accessories such as a tank bag, rear bag, leg bag, 17-liter and 13-liter side bags, luggage rack, side-bag carriers, windshields, radiator grille protection, and frame slider on its product page. Those listings establish accessory categories, not third-party compatibility or U.S. availability. For any tank bag or luggage, confirm mounting type, clearance, and Caballero 700 fitment rather than assuming a generic item will work.
