Evotrex’s PG5 is a towable travel trailer built around a large battery and several ways to replenish it—not a self-propelled motorhome or a battery-only RV. The company announced the trailer on January 6, 2026, claiming more than 270 kWh of total usable energy from a 43 kWh battery, solar, regenerative charging while towing, and a gas-powered generator. Its published weight, generator and water capacities make tow-vehicle fit and real-world energy use key questions for buyers.
What is the Evotrex PG5?
The PG5 is a travel trailer that must be pulled by a separate tow vehicle. Evotrex describes it as a power-generating electric RV trailer, but “electric” refers to its onboard energy system and towing assistance; the trailer does not drive itself. Its TowSync adaptive tow assist uses an onboard electric motor to assist while towing. Evotrex advises buyers to check their tow vehicle’s manual or consult its manufacturer or dealer about towing capacity.
The company’s January 2026 launch announcement said preorders were open from $119,990 and production was expected to begin in Q4 2026. Those were launch-period terms and a forecast, not confirmation of current pricing, production completion, or delivery timing. Contact Evotrex for current order and delivery information.
How the PG5’s power system works
Evotrex describes the PG5’s system as a combination of stored and generated electricity. Its published specifications and claims are below; the company’s announcements and product information are not independent performance tests.

| Component or claim | Evotrex’s published figure | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| Battery | 43 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) | Stores energy for the trailer’s electrical systems. |
| Solar | 1.5 kW | Integrated solar input; actual energy collected depends on conditions. |
| Generator | 75 kW, gas-powered; up to 225 kWh attributed to the generator | Provides electricity and can replenish the battery; the trailer is not fossil-fuel-free. |
| Total usable energy | More than 270 kWh | Evotrex’s combined-system claim, not an independently verified measurement. |
| Regenerative charging | Charging while towing | Evotrex lists this as another means of replenishing the system; the cited materials do not quantify energy recovered on a particular trip. |
The 43 kWh battery is storage capacity, not the same thing as the company’s more-than-270-kWh total usable energy claim. That larger figure combines energy sources, including a gas-powered generator. It should not be read as 270 kWh of battery capacity or as a guarantee of a particular number of days without refueling.
What the March 2026 energy-transfer announcement adds
In a March 31, 2026 announcement, Evotrex said the PG5 would support vehicle-to-load (V2L) and vehicle-to-home (V2H) output up to 12 kW, and vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) DC fast charging up to 60 kW. The company also claimed more than 150 hours of continuous air-conditioning operation. These are announced capabilities and company claims; the available information does not independently establish real-world runtime, compatibility with particular homes or vehicles, or charging performance. Evotrex co-founder and head of North America Stella Qin said the goal was to extend energy “beyond the RV,” including at a campsite, during a home outage, or to support another vehicle.

Weight and dimensions: start with the tow vehicle
Evotrex lists two trim levels with different dry weights and gross vehicle weight ratings (GVWR). GVWR is the maximum permitted loaded weight of the trailer, not its empty weight. Actual towing suitability also depends on the tow vehicle’s ratings, passengers and cargo, hitch and tongue-weight limits, and applicable equipment.
| Specification | Standard | Premium |
|---|---|---|
| Dry weight | 8,350 lb | 8,900 lb |
| GVWR | 9,500 lb | 9,900 lb |
Evotrex lists exterior dimensions of 28 ft 8 in long, 8 ft wide, and 9 ft 5 in high. Before ordering, compare the specific trim’s loaded weight and hitch requirements with the tow vehicle’s manual and have a qualified dealer verify the complete towing setup. A vehicle’s advertised maximum tow rating alone does not settle whether a particular combination is appropriate.

Water capacity and advertised off-grid duration
Evotrex lists 60 gallons of fresh water, plus 30 gallons each for gray water and black water, and sleeping space for four adults. The company advertises “7+ days” off-grid, but that is not a guaranteed duration. Actual time away from hookups will vary with power use, weather and solar conditions, generator fuel and operation, water use, and the needs of the occupants. The cited product information does not provide a standardized usage profile behind the duration claim.

The published figures describe Evotrex’s announced product and its claims, not independently tested performance. The available sources do not establish a verified apples-to-apples comparison with other travel trailers, customer delivery status, or a current delivery schedule.
