Every 2026 Chevrolet Corvette Explained: Stingray, E-Ray, Z06, ZR1 and ZR1X

The 2026 Chevrolet Corvette lineup includes five distinct models, from the $70,000 Stingray to the 1,250-hp ZR1X. Here is how their engines, drivetrains, prices, performance claims and missions differ.

Chevrolet sells five different Corvettes for the 2026 U.S. model year: the Stingray, E-Ray, Z06, ZR1 and ZR1X. They share the C8 Corvette’s mid-engine layout, but their missions are very different. The Stingray is the value-oriented road car, the E-Ray adds hybrid-assisted all-wheel drive, the Z06 is the naturally aspirated track specialist, the ZR1 is the extreme rear-wheel-drive turbo car, and the ZR1X is the electrified acceleration flagship.

Starting prices range from $70,000 for the Stingray to $209,700 for the ZR1X, before destination freight, taxes, title, license, dealer fees and options. Chevrolet’s published performance figures also depend on specified packages, so a model’s headline number is not always the result of the least-expensive configuration.

The 2026 Corvette lineup at a glance

The table below uses Chevrolet’s published U.S.-market figures. Acceleration, quarter-mile and top-speed numbers are Chevrolet claims or listed track figures, not independent road-test results.

Stingray The entry Corvette and best-value street car Naturally aspirated 6.2-liter LT2 V8; rear-wheel drive $70,000 Up to 495 hp; 2.9 seconds from 0–60 mph with Z51; 194-mph track top speed
E-Ray The hybrid, all-wheel-drive grand-tourer 6.2-liter LT2 V8 plus front electric drive unit; electrified all-wheel drive $108,600 655 combined hp; 2.5 seconds from 0–60 mph; 183-mph track top speed
Z06 The naturally aspirated track-focused street car Naturally aspirated 5.5-liter LT6 flat-plane-crank V8; rear-wheel drive $120,300 670 hp; 2.6 seconds from 0–60 mph with Z07; 195-mph track top speed
ZR1 The maximum-combustion Corvette Twin-turbocharged 5.5-liter LT7 flat-plane-crank V8; rear-wheel drive $185,000 1,064 hp; 2.3 seconds from 0–60 mph with ZTK; 233-mph track top speed
ZR1X The hybrid hypercar flagship LT7 V8 plus front electric drive unit; electrified all-wheel drive $209,700 1,250 combined hp; 1.89 seconds from 0–60 mph with ZTK; 8.99-second quarter-mile claim

Pricing note: These are U.S. starting figures and should not be treated as transaction prices. Destination, taxes, title, license, dealer fees and options can substantially change the amount paid. Chevrolet’s current consumer page displays the ZR1X at $209,700; an earlier Chevrolet pricing release quoted ZR1X figures that included destination, so buyers should verify the current window sticker and configuration.

2026 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray

The 2026 Stingray is the base Corvette, but “base” does not mean ordinary performance. It is the most affordable way into the C8’s mid-engine format and retains the V8 character, dual-clutch transmission and dramatic acceleration that define the modern Corvette.

Powertrain and performance

The Stingray uses a naturally aspirated 6.2-liter LT2 V8 mounted behind the occupants. Power goes to the rear wheels through a standard eight-speed dual-clutch transmission. In standard form, Chevrolet lists 490 horsepower and 465 lb-ft of torque. The available performance exhaust, included with the Z51 package, raises those figures to 495 horsepower and 470 lb-ft.

With Z51 equipment, Chevrolet quotes 2.9 seconds from 0 to 60 mph and an 11.2-second quarter mile. Chevrolet also lists a 194-mph track top speed. Those numbers explain why the Stingray remains the sensible default recommendation: it delivers serious straight-line performance without requiring the price jump to a Z06 or one of the ZR models.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Coupe, convertible and trims

The Stingray is available as a coupe or convertible. The coupe has a removable roof panel. The convertible uses a power-retractable hardtop that can be operated while the car is moving at up to 30 mph.

Stingray coupe and convertible buyers choose among 1LT, 2LT and 3LT trims:

  • 1LT: the lowest-cost entry point into the Stingray range.
  • 2LT: adds equipment including the Performance Data Recorder, heated and ventilated seats, additional camera and blind-zone features, and a head-up display.
  • 3LT: adds more extensive leather and interior-trim upgrades, along with GT2 seats.

The trim levels change equipment and cabin presentation more than they change the Stingray’s fundamental performance identity. If the priority is maximum mechanical performance per dollar, starting with 1LT or selecting only the options that solve a specific need makes more sense than automatically moving to 3LT.

Who should buy the Stingray?

Choose the Stingray if you want a fast, usable road car with rear-wheel-drive simplicity and the lowest entry price in the lineup. It is the broadest-value explanation of the C8 Corvette: a car that can serve as an occasional weekend sports car without making the buyer pay for the track hardware or hybrid systems of the more expensive models.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

2026 Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray

The E-Ray is the Corvette for buyers who want hybrid assistance and all-wheel-drive traction without giving up the gasoline V8. It is not a battery-electric Corvette and Chevrolet does not present it as a plug-in model. Its hybrid system exists primarily to add performance and all-season capability.

How the E-Ray hybrid system works

The E-Ray’s 6.2-liter LT2 V8 drives the rear wheels, while a front electric drive unit powers the front axle. Chevrolet lists 495 horsepower from the V8 and 160 horsepower from the electric drive unit, for 655 combined horsepower. The result is electrified all-wheel drive rather than a conventional mechanical all-wheel-drive system.

Chevrolet quotes 2.5 seconds from 0 to 60 mph and a 183-mph track top speed. The E-Ray’s key advantage is not simply its combined horsepower number. Its front electric motor gives the car a different traction strategy from the rear-drive Stingray and Z06, making the E-Ray the more logical choice for buyers who prioritize strong launches, wet-weather confidence and broader all-season usability.

How the E-Ray differs from the Z06

The E-Ray and Z06 occupy similar price territory, but they are aimed at different drivers. The E-Ray uses the LT2 and an electric front axle to deliver traction and hybrid-assisted acceleration. The Z06 uses the high-revving LT6 V8 and track-oriented chassis and body hardware to deliver a more focused naturally aspirated experience.

That means the E-Ray should not be treated as a less-expensive ZR1X or as an all-wheel-drive Z06. It is the approachable high-performance upgrade for someone who wants Corvette speed with electrified all-wheel-drive capability, while the Z06 is the enthusiast’s choice for engine response, sound and repeated track use.

2026 Chevrolet Corvette Z06

The Z06 is the naturally aspirated, track-focused Corvette. Its identity comes from its engine and track-derived hardware, not merely from having more horsepower than the Stingray.

The LT6 engine

The Z06 uses a hand-built, naturally aspirated 5.5-liter LT6 V8 with a flat-plane crankshaft. Chevrolet lists 670 horsepower. Chevrolet also describes the Z06 as a street-legal track weapon co-developed with the Corvette GT3.R racing program.

With the available Z07 Performance Package, Chevrolet lists 2.6 seconds from 0 to 60 mph, a 10.6-second quarter mile at 131 mph and a 195-mph track top speed. The Z07 numbers are important: the headline acceleration figure requires specified performance equipment and should not be read as the universal result for every Z06 configuration.

Body styles and trims

The Z06 is offered as a coupe or convertible and in 1LZ, 2LZ and 3LZ trims. The coupe and convertible decision changes the ownership experience, while the trim levels primarily determine cabin equipment and finish.

The Z06 starts at $120,300. Its price premium over the Stingray buys a substantially different performance proposition: a high-revving flat-plane-crank engine, wider and more aggressive chassis and body hardware, and access to track-oriented options such as Z07.

Who should buy the Z06?

Choose the Z06 if the appeal of a Corvette is the engine itself: naturally aspirated response, high-rpm character and a more track-focused personality. It is the enthusiast’s Corvette in the classic sense, even though its mid-engine architecture and modern electronics make it unlike older front-engine Z06 generations.

It is not automatically the best choice for the quickest launch, all-weather traction or top speed. The E-Ray has electrified all-wheel drive, the ZR1 has much more turbocharged power, and the ZR1X combines the LT7 with an electric front axle. The Z06’s argument is involvement and track-oriented character.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

2026 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1

The ZR1 is the most powerful rear-wheel-drive Corvette and the most extreme version powered exclusively by its combustion engine. It is aimed at buyers who want the full twin-turbo V8 experience without the ZR1X’s front electric motor.

Power and published performance

The ZR1 uses the twin-turbocharged 5.5-liter LT7 V8, which also has a flat-plane crankshaft. Chevrolet lists 1,064 horsepower at 7,000 rpm and 828 lb-ft of torque at 6,000 rpm. Unlike the E-Ray and ZR1X, the ZR1 sends its power to the rear wheels.

With the available ZTK Performance Package, Chevrolet quotes 2.3 seconds from 0 to 60 mph and a 9.6-second quarter mile at 150 mph. Its listed 233-mph track top speed is the highest top-speed figure in the 2026 Corvette lineup. These are closed-course claims and may depend on the specified package and test configuration; they are not promises of what every owner will achieve on public roads.

What is new for the 2026 ZR1?

For 2026, Chevrolet says the ZR1’s ZTK package receives a new brake system with 10-piston front and six-piston rear calipers and carbon-ceramic discs. Chevrolet describes these as the largest brakes fitted to a production Corvette. The lineup-wide 2026 cabin changes also apply to the ZR1.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Who should buy the ZR1?

Choose the ZR1 if you want maximum combustion-engine power, the highest published top speed in the range and rear-wheel-drive behavior. It is the traditional high-performance answer in an unusually modern form: enormous turbocharged V8 output, no front electric motor and no electrified all-wheel-drive system.

2026 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1X

The ZR1X is the 2026 Corvette flagship. It is not simply a more heavily equipped ZR1. Its defining mechanical difference is the addition of a front-axle electric drive unit, which gives the LT7-powered car electrified all-wheel drive and a higher combined output.

How much power does the ZR1X make?

The rear-mounted LT7 produces 1,064 horsepower. The front electric drive unit contributes 186 horsepower and 145 lb-ft of torque. Chevrolet lists 1,250 combined horsepower.

With ZTK, Chevrolet’s standard published figures are 1.89 seconds from 0 to 60 mph and an 8.99-second quarter mile at 157 mph. That makes the ZR1X the acceleration and traction flagship of the lineup, even though the ZR1 has the higher listed track top speed.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Chevrolet’s validation run versus the standard claim

Chevrolet separately reported a preproduction, prepared-surface validation run of 8.675 seconds at 159 mph in the quarter mile and 1.68 seconds to 60 mph. Chevrolet said that run used production street-legal calibration, standard tires and available carbon-fiber wheels.

Those validation results should be labeled as Chevrolet testing rather than treated as a universal owner result. Surface preparation, weather, tires, equipment and launch conditions can all affect acceleration. The 8.99-second and 1.89-second figures are the cleaner buyer-facing published claims for a ZTK-equipped ZR1X.

Body styles, trims and price

The ZR1X is available as a coupe or hardtop convertible, with 1LZ and 3LZ trims. Chevrolet’s current 2026 consumer page displays a starting price of $209,700. Because Chevrolet has also published earlier ZR1X prices that included destination, pricing should be confirmed against the current configuration and window sticker before purchase.

Who should buy the ZR1X?

Choose the ZR1X if the priority is the most dramatic acceleration story in the Corvette family and the additional launch traction of electrified all-wheel drive. It is the logical choice for someone who wants the LT7’s power but does not want to give up the front-axle assistance that distinguishes the E-Ray.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

The ZR1X costs more and adds a more complex hybrid system than the rear-drive ZR1. Its advantage is not that it replaces the ZR1’s character; it creates a separate flagship formula built around combined power and traction.

What changed across the 2026 Corvette lineup?

The major 2026 change is the cabin. Chevrolet says the entire Corvette lineup receives a redesigned interior with three screens:

  • Dimensions approximately L-7.5, W-3.5, H-2 inches.
  • 12.7-inch center display for infotainment and vehicle functions.
  • 14-inch driver information display ahead of the driver.
  • 6.6-inch auxiliary touchscreen to the left of the steering wheel.

The center-console layout was reworked, the drive-mode selector was relocated, and Chevrolet added a covered wireless charging pad below the infotainment system.

Google Built-in, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto

All 2026 Corvettes receive Google Built-in, with integrated vehicle controls and access to Google Play applications while parked. Chevrolet’s 2026 interior announcement also says Apple CarPlay and Android Auto remain available.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

That combination matters because Google Built-in is integrated into the vehicle’s infotainment environment, while CarPlay and Android Auto continue to support drivers who prefer their phone-based interface. The presence of a new screen does not change the fact that the Corvette remains a driver-focused sports car; it changes how the driver interacts with its cabin technology.

New interior themes

Chevrolet adds several interior themes, including:

  • Asymmetrical Adrenaline Red with Jet Black
  • Sky Cool/Medium Ash Gray with Habanero accents
  • Santorini Blue
  • Very Dark Atmosphere
  • Ultimate Suede

PTM Pro

Chevrolet also adds PTM Pro across Corvette variants. PTM Pro disables electronic stability control and traction control while retaining ABS and certain E-Ray-specific front-axle controls.

That makes PTM Pro a specialized closed-course setting, not an everyday-road mode. Disabling stability and traction systems changes the margin for error dramatically. Its presence is relevant to track users, but it should not be confused with an equipment upgrade that makes public-road driving safer.

Which 2026 Corvette should you buy?

If your priority is… Start with… Why
Lowest price and broad street usability Stingray It provides the C8 layout, naturally aspirated V8 and strong performance without the cost of the specialized models.
Launch traction and all-season capability E-Ray The rear V8 and front electric drive unit create electrified all-wheel drive and 655 combined horsepower.
Naturally aspirated sound and high-rpm response Z06 The 670-hp LT6 flat-plane-crank V8 and track-derived hardware give it a distinct enthusiast focus.
Maximum rear-wheel-drive combustion performance ZR1 The twin-turbo LT7 produces 1,064 hp and the model carries the lineup’s highest published track top-speed figure.
The quickest published launches and highest combined output ZR1X Its LT7 plus front electric drive unit produces 1,250 combined horsepower and electrified all-wheel drive.

Stingray versus E-Ray

The Stingray is the rational choice when rear-wheel-drive simplicity, price and everyday sports-car performance matter most. The E-Ray is worth the additional cost when the buyer specifically values electrified all-wheel-drive traction and hybrid-assisted acceleration. The E-Ray is not just a more powerful Stingray, but its powertrain is more complex and its mission is different.

E-Ray versus Z06

This is the closest philosophical decision in the middle of the range. The E-Ray favors traction and all-weather capability. The Z06 favors naturally aspirated engine character and track-focused hardware. A buyer who talks more about launches and changing weather should look at the E-Ray; a buyer who talks more about sound, revs and track sessions should look at the Z06.

Z06 versus ZR1

The Z06 is the naturally aspirated driver’s car, while the ZR1 is the turbocharged power specialist. The ZR1 has dramatically more output and a much higher listed top speed, but the Z06’s appeal is not invalidated by the ZR1. They deliver different engine responses and different reasons to choose a Corvette.

ZR1 versus ZR1X

The ZR1 is for maximum rear-wheel-drive LT7 performance. The ZR1X adds the front electric drive unit, electrified all-wheel drive and 186 additional electric horsepower for the quickest published acceleration figures. Choose between them based on whether the priority is the pure rear-drive V8 experience or the broadest possible combination of power and traction.

Track use and performance-figure context

The Z06, ZR1 and ZR1X are the most obvious track-oriented choices, but their published numbers should be read with their packages attached. The Z06’s 2.6-second 0–60 claim uses Z07 equipment. The ZR1’s 2.3-second claim uses ZTK. The ZR1X’s 1.89-second and 8.99-second claims are also associated with ZTK.

Chevrolet publishes an official 2026 Corvette Track Preparation Guide. Anyone planning to drive one of these cars on a circuit should use the manufacturer’s preparation information and confirm the requirements for the exact model, equipment and venue. A performance number alone does not explain preparation, operating limits or the conditions required to reproduce it.

PTM Pro is another reason to distinguish track use from normal road driving. It disables electronic stability and traction control while preserving ABS and, in some cases, E-Ray-specific front-axle controls. That setting is intended for a controlled environment and an appropriately trained driver.

Small but useful ownership considerations

The 2026 Corvette range includes both coupes and convertibles, so accessories are not automatically interchangeable. If the car will be stored for extended periods, a C8 Corvette car cover can be worth considering, but the buyer must match the cover to the exact body style and confirm dimensions rather than assuming a generic C8 cover fits every coupe and convertible.

For routine cosmetic care, a Corvette detailing kit is a category rather than a Chevrolet-approved recommendation. Choose supplies only after checking the product documentation for compatibility with the car’s exterior surfaces, glass, wheels and interior materials. No specific product has been independently tested here.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

If you want a physical representation of the car rather than a full-size Corvette, a C8 Corvette model car is a natural enthusiast collectible. Check the scale, body style, manufacturer, licensing language and whether the listing actually identifies a 2026-specific model; a C8 model car is not necessarily an exact replica of every 2026 variant.

Do not confuse the 2026 Corvette with the 2027 Grand Sport

Chevrolet’s website also contains 2027 Corvette pages, and the 2027 model-year announcement introduces the Grand Sport and Grand Sport X with a new LS6 engine. Those are 2027 models, not 2026 Corvettes. The 2026 U.S. lineup covered here consists of the Stingray, E-Ray, Z06, ZR1 and ZR1X.

What the published numbers do—and do not—tell you

Chevrolet’s figures are useful for comparing the intended hierarchy, but they are not a substitute for an independent test or a real purchase quote. Acceleration figures can depend on package selection, launch conditions, tires, surface preparation, weather and driver technique. The ZR1X’s 8.675-second validation run is especially specific to Chevrolet testing and should not be presented as a guaranteed owner result.

Similarly, a starting MSRP does not represent the final price of a configured car. Destination freight, taxes, title, license, dealer fees, optional equipment and dealer pricing are separate considerations. The safest comparison is to use the published starting figures as entry points, then build the exact body style, trim and performance package before comparing totals.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the 2026 Corvette E-Ray an electric vehicle?

No. The E-Ray is a gas/electric hybrid. Its 6.2-liter LT2 V8 drives the rear wheels and a front electric drive unit powers the front axle. Chevrolet lists 655 combined horsepower and presents the car as a performance and all-season model, not as a plug-in or battery-electric Corvette.

Which 2026 Corvette is the fastest?

It depends on the metric. The ZR1X has the quickest published acceleration figures, with 1.89 seconds from 0–60 mph and an 8.99-second quarter mile with ZTK. The ZR1 has the highest published track top speed at 233 mph. Both figures are Chevrolet claims associated with specified conditions or equipment.

Which 2026 Corvette is best for everyday street driving?

The Stingray is the best default choice for most street-focused buyers because it has the lowest starting price, rear-wheel-drive simplicity and substantial performance. The E-Ray is the better fit for someone who specifically prioritizes electrified all-wheel-drive traction and broader all-season capability.

Does every 2026 Corvette get the new interior?

Yes. Chevrolet says the entire 2026 Corvette lineup receives the redesigned cabin with a 12.7-inch center display, 14-inch driver display, 6.6-inch auxiliary touchscreen, revised console layout, relocated drive-mode selector and covered wireless charging pad.

What’s actually slowing this PC down?

Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Are the 2027 Grand Sport and Grand Sport X part of the 2026 Corvette lineup?

No. Chevrolet identifies the Grand Sport and Grand Sport X as 2027 models with the new LS6 engine. They should not be listed as 2026 Corvette variants.

The Bottom Line

The 2026 Corvette lineup is best understood as five different answers to the same sports-car question. The Stingray is the value and street-use choice, the E-Ray is the traction-focused hybrid, the Z06 is the naturally aspirated track enthusiast’s car, the ZR1 is the extreme rear-drive V8, and the ZR1X is the quickest-launching flagship. Choose the model according to the kind of performance you want—not simply the largest horsepower number.
