The Donkervoort P24 RS debuted on January 24, 2026, with a Ford EcoBoost-based twin-turbo V6 offering selectable outputs of 400, 500 or 600 hp. Donkervoort lists the car at 780 kg unladen to DIN, but that figure does not establish that it weighs less than a Mazda Miata: a fair comparison needs a specific Miata generation and trim, plus matching weight conventions.
What is the Donkervoort P24 RS?
Revealed by Donkervoort on January 24, 2026, the P24 RS is a two-seat, front-mid-engine coupe/convertible with removable carbon-fibre targa panels. Its defining combination is a very light chassis and a high-output turbocharged V6. The car is limited to 150 examples, according to the launch announcement.
Donkervoort CEO Denis Donkervoort described the company’s design priorities this way: “The key to everything we do is about eliminating weight, minimising inertia and delivering unforgettable driving experiences,” the company said in its launch release. This is the manufacturer’s statement of intent, not an independent assessment.
How much horsepower does the P24 RS have?
Donkervoort says the 3.5-litre (3,496 cc) twin-turbo V6 has three selectable output settings: 400, 500 and 600 hp. Peak torque is listed at 800 Nm at 4,500 rpm. The company’s maximum-output figure equates to a claimed 770 hp per tonne, using its stated vehicle weight.

Top Gear describes the engine as Ford EcoBoost-based, with a connection to the V6 used in the Ford GT. It is not an unmodified production engine: Donkervoort says it has a bespoke dry-sump system, and Top Gear reports smaller bespoke Van der Lee turbochargers and a unique intake system. Donkervoort also lists variable valve timing, direct and indirect fuel injection, 3D-printed exhaust manifolds and carbon-fibre-reinforced intake manifolds. The manufacturer says the dry-sump arrangement lowers the engine’s centre of gravity by 6 cm compared with a wet-sump engine.
Donkervoort credits Van der Lee with the bespoke ball-bearing turbochargers and Conflux with the 3D-printed charge-air coolers; its model page gives the weight of each cooler as 1.4 kg. These are company specifications, not independently verified measurements.

Is the P24 RS lighter than a Mazda Miata?
Donkervoort lists the P24 RS at 780 kg unladen to DIN, also described by the company as dry weight. That is the figure behind the car’s light-weight claim. It is not enough, by itself, to establish that the P24 RS is lighter than a Miata: the comparison needs a named Miata generation and trim, and a matching basis such as DIN/unladen, dry or curb weight. A curb-weight figure for a Miata should not be compared directly with the P24’s unladen-to-DIN figure as though the methods were identical.
What performance does Donkervoort claim?
The manufacturer’s published figures are:
- 0–200 km/h in 7.4 seconds.
- More than 300 km/h top speed.
- Maximum lateral acceleration of 2.3 g without the optional aero kit.
- 770 hp per tonne at the 600 hp setting, based on Donkervoort’s stated weight.
These are Donkervoort claims, not results from an independent instrumented test. The company rates the optional removable aero package for 90 kg of balanced downforce at 250 km/h.

How is the P24 RS built and equipped?
Donkervoort describes a hybrid tubular-alloy and Ex-Core carbon-fibre chassis, with a one-piece Fort-Ex front subframe. Listed equipment includes Tractive active dampers, four-piston AP Racing brakes and custom CR-S tyres developed with Nankang. Adjustable hydraulic ride height and carbon-ceramic brake discs are optional; the aero package is removable and optional as well.
Independent coverage reports a five-speed manual gearbox and rev-matching function. The manufacturer’s release cautions that some electronic driver aids are absent as standard, so buyers should confirm the exact equipment and options on a particular car rather than assume a fully equipped specification.

Can you buy and register one in your country?
Donkervoort says the P24 RS has full European Small Series homologation, supporting registration in markets that recognize EU homologation. The company also describes a US titling and registration process with a Florida technical partner; that is not a blanket guarantee of registration in every state or for every buyer.
Right-hand drive is available, and the manufacturer’s current model page names the UK, Ireland, Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong, Australia and New Zealand among relevant markets. Premier GT is identified as the official UK dealer; ISSIMI and AJR Restorations are named as US service partners. Buyers should confirm local registration requirements, price and delivery timing directly with Donkervoort or the relevant market contact.
At launch, Donkervoort said deliveries were expected to start in April 2026 and reported that more than 50 of the planned 150 cars had already been sold. Those are launch-period statements, not a current sales count or an indication of remaining build slots. The manufacturer’s model page gives an indicative delivery window of approximately 18 months, with a typical lead time around two years, and directs prospective buyers to inquire about the next available production slot; these estimates are not a guaranteed delivery date.
