Dodge has not confirmed a new Cuda, but it has supplied enough clues to keep the revival rumor alive. The strongest evidence is not a leaked specification sheet or a dealer announcement. It is a combination of recent trademark activity and a fish-like visual Easter egg found in Dodge’s Charger Portal.

That evidence suggests FCA US LLC is preserving—or at least exploring—the commercial value of the CUDA name. It does not establish that a production Dodge Cuda has been approved, when one might arrive, what it would look like, or whether it would even wear a Dodge badge.
The latest Cuda trademark filing is the clearest clue
A trademark-record mirror reproducing USPTO data lists an FCA US LLC application for ‘CUDA, serial number 99616935, filed on January 27, 2026. The application covers land vehicles, specifically passenger automobiles, while excluding armored vehicles. [c002]
#1 Best Overall
- 1:25 scale, skill level 2, paint & glue required
- 91 parts
- Molded in white, clear, transparent red, and some chrome-plated parts
- Black vinyl tires
- Metal axle
That is more relevant than a social-media rumor because the filing is directly connected to passenger automobiles. However, a trademark application is not a vehicle announcement. Automakers regularly protect names for possible future use, maintain rights to historic branding, or file marks while product plans remain fluid. The filing does not prove that a Cuda has passed design review, received production approval, or been scheduled for sale.
There is also an earlier FCA US LLC filing connected with the name. Serial number 98526544 was filed on April 30, 2024, in International Class 12, with goods described as concept motor vehicles. The record shows publication for opposition in 2025 and lists FCA as the owner. [c003]
That filing became involved in an opposition proceeding brought by Alpine Armoring Inc. The TTAB record shows the proceeding as suspended. [c004] The legal status matters, but it should not be overinterpreted: the existence of a trademark application, or an opposition involving it, does not tell us whether FCA will use the name on a retail production car.
What appeared in the Charger Portal?
The other major breadcrumb came from Dodge’s Charger Portal. As reported by The Drive, the portal included a covered vehicle and a blurry, fish-like graphic on a nearby wall. Enthusiasts connected the image with the Barracuda and ‘Cuda name, whose historic logos and styling references have long been part of Mopar culture. [c001]

- Detailed HEMI V-8 engine.
- Separate reverse side scoops.
- Tampo printed Red Line Tires.
- Molded in white, transparent red and clear with chrome plated parts and soft black tires. Paint and glue required(not included).
It is an intriguing detail, particularly because Dodge has made heritage references and hidden visual cues part of its marketing style. But the image remains an interpretation, not a confirmation. The public evidence does not establish that the fish was specifically a Cuda logo, that the covered vehicle was a Cuda, or that the image represented an approved production program.
In other words, the Charger Portal may contain a deliberate Easter egg. It is not a substitute for a press release, concept reveal, or official product announcement.
Why a Cuda revival makes sense for Dodge
Dodge’s current product direction gives the rumor a plausible backdrop. The company’s official Charger material presents the 2026 Charger as a widebody muscle car available through both electric and gasoline-powered configurations, with styling and branding built around Dodge’s performance heritage. Stellantis likewise describes the Charger as a multi-energy performance vehicle intended to carry the muscle-car identity into a new era. [c005]

The modern Charger is therefore the most relevant official context for any future Cuda discussion. If Dodge were to revive the name, the vehicle could theoretically share technology, architecture, or design themes with the Charger. But Dodge has not said that a Cuda is a Charger derivative—or that a Cuda program exists at all.

Dodge’s own HEMI-history material also highlights the historical connection between the 1970 HEMI, the Plymouth ‘Cuda, and the Dodge Challenger. [c006] That confirms the value of the name within Dodge’s heritage storytelling. It does not confirm a new engine, body style, or powertrain.
There is precedent for enthusiasts reading too much—or occasionally something meaningful—into Dodge and Mopar concepts, SEMA vehicles, future-product displays, and other design exercises. Those events can preview design language or performance themes, but a concept remains separate from a production commitment. [c007]
What has not been confirmed
Based on the evidence currently available, readers should treat all of the following as unknown:
- Whether the production name would be Cuda, ‘Cuda, or something else.
- Whether the car would be sold as a Dodge, a revived Plymouth, or under another Stellantis brand.
- Whether it would be a standalone coupe, a Charger-based model, a special edition, or merely a trim or package.
- Its platform, body style, dimensions, engine, electric system, transmission, horsepower, range, price, or destination charges.
- Whether either trademark application will mature into a registration or be used commercially.
- Whether the fish-like Charger Portal graphic was intended specifically as a Cuda reference.
- When a reveal, production start, or dealership arrival might occur.
That also means claims about a 426 HEMI, 1,000 horsepower, a Mustang competitor, a late-2026 reveal, or a 2027 showroom arrival should be treated as speculation. None of those details is established by the evidence reviewed here.

Trademark protection is not the same as a launch plan
The distinction is especially important with a heritage name such as Cuda. A manufacturer may want to prevent others from using a valuable name, preserve options for future products, or test the legal availability of a mark before a final business decision is made. A filing can therefore indicate interest without indicating a finished vehicle.
The 2026 passenger-automobile filing gives the rumor more substance than a simple fan theory. The 2024 concept-vehicle filing shows that the name has been connected to vehicle-related trademark activity for more than a few months. Together, they make renewed interest plausible. Neither one is a product-order guide for dealers or a specification sheet for buyers.

The rumor would move to a much stronger footing if Dodge or Stellantis provided one or more of the following:
- An official announcement naming a Cuda or ‘Cuda as a future vehicle.
- A publicly shown concept explicitly identified as a Cuda.
- Official images, technical specifications, or a product page tied to the name.
- A vehicle reveal that identifies its platform, powertrain, and intended market.
- A regulatory, manufacturing, or dealer document clearly connected to a production model rather than a trademark or concept.
Until then, the responsible reading is that Dodge is leaving the door open—or at least protecting the name while it evaluates how its heritage fits into the new Charger era.

Bottom line: a Cuda revival is possible, not confirmed
Dodge keeps hinting at the Cuda because the name continues to appear around relevant pieces of the brand’s strategy: FCA has filed vehicle-related CUDA trademarks, the Charger Portal reportedly included a fish-like graphic, and Dodge is actively rebuilding its muscle-car portfolio around historic identity and multi-energy performance.
That is a credible rumor trail, but it is still a trail. No source reviewed here confirms a production Cuda, its launch timing, its design, or its specifications. For now, the most accurate headline is not “Dodge confirmed a new Cuda.” It is that FCA/Dodge appears to be keeping the name commercially relevant while enthusiasts wait for a concept, press release, or actual vehicle reveal.
