Did the 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona First Edition Really Start at $68,570?

The reported $68,570 price was for a leaked, optioned R/T First Edition configuration—not Dodge’s confirmed base MSRP. Here are the official 2024 prices and what they included.

Not as a confirmed Dodge base price. The $68,570 figure was reported in August 2024 for a preconfigured R/T First Edition, based on a leaked dealer-screen image that MotorTrend said it could not verify. Dodge later announced official 2024 starting MSRPs of $59,595 for the R/T and $73,190 for the Scat Pack, each before a $1,995 destination charge.

What the $68,570 figure was supposed to cover

MotorTrend’s August 2024 report tied the $68,570 figure to an R/T First Edition with several options and equipment bundles, rather than to the trim’s base price. The report said the configuration included the Plus Group, Blacktop Package, Sun & Sound Package, heated front and rear seats, blind-spot detection and cross-path detection. Other reporting on the leaked dealer-screen information also described eStage 1 and bundled appearance and convenience equipment.

Those details describe what the leak reportedly showed, not a verified final window sticker. MotorTrend explicitly said it could not attest to the screenshot’s authenticity, so the reported price and equipment should not be treated as confirmed Dodge pricing. MotorTrend’s report also listed an $82,170 Scat Pack configuration, likewise based on leaked information.

How the reported price compares with Dodge’s official MSRPs

On August 7, 2024, Dodge announced official starting MSRPs for the 2024 two-door Charger Daytona. The manufacturer’s figures were for base trims and excluded the $1,995 destination charge.

2024 trim Dodge-announced starting MSRP Destination Launch performance equipment and output
R/T $59,595 $1,995 extra Factory Direct Connection Stage 1; 496 hp and 404 lb-ft of torque
Scat Pack $73,190 $1,995 extra Inaugural model included Track Package and factory Stage 2; 670 hp and 627 lb-ft of torque

Dodge estimated the Scat Pack’s 0–60 mph time at 3.3 seconds and its quarter-mile time at 11.5 seconds. These are manufacturer estimates from the 2024 launch announcement, not independent test results. The official pricing and performance details are in Stellantis’ August 7, 2024 release.

The $68,570 leak figure and Dodge’s official $59,595 R/T starting MSRP are different kinds of numbers: one reportedly priced an optioned R/T configuration, while the other was the trim’s announced base MSRP. The leaked $82,170 Scat Pack configuration and the official $73,190 Scat Pack starting MSRP differ on the same basis.

What Dodge currently says about range and charging

Dodge’s FAQ, as accessed in 2026, lists an all-electric range of 308 miles for the Next-Gen Charger Daytona R/T and 241 miles for Scat Pack models, or 240 miles with the Track Package. These are Dodge-published figures, not independent real-world range measurements. They are current FAQ specifications and should not be confused with launch-era estimates for the 2024 model.

For charging, Dodge says a professionally installed 40- or 48-amp Level II home charger can charge the battery to 80% in 7–8 hours. The company says a 350-kW DC fast charger can provide an 80% charge in 30 minutes. Actual charging time depends on conditions and equipment; these figures are Dodge’s published claims. Its FAQ also lists an 8-year/100,000-mile battery limited warranty and directs owners to Mopar for complete terms. See Dodge’s Charger Daytona FAQ for its current specifications and ownership information.

Which launch offers were announced in 2024?

Dodge’s August 2024 pricing release said both trims qualified for a full $7,500 federal tax credit when leased and offered buyers a choice between an at-home Level 2 charging station or $600 in Free2move Charge credits. Those were statements about launch-era offers, not confirmation that either incentive or offer is still available. Check current eligibility and terms before relying on them.
