If you’re asking, “What are the cheapest sport bikes you can buy?”, current official U.S. listings identify several low-price options—but they do not support a reliable top-10 ranking. This comparison covers five models with published price and year evidence, plus explains where the figures are not directly comparable. Prices are manufacturer-listed amounts, not guaranteed out-the-door costs.
Verified low-price sport bikes and their published prices
The figures below are a shortlist, not a ranking by total purchase cost. Model year, trim, price basis and availability differ. A base MSRP excludes some costs you will pay at purchase, and the Aprilia price depends on dealer availability.

| Model | Published price | What the figure covers |
|---|---|---|
| Suzuki GSX250R ABS | $5,149 | Suzuki catalog base MSRP; the surfaced catalog information does not establish the model year. Suzuki Motor USA |
| Kawasaki Ninja 500 | $5,399 non-ABS; $5,799 ABS | 2026 model base MSRPs. Kawasaki lists a $650 destination charge for the SE ABS; the dealer sets the actual retail price. Kawasaki Motors Corp., U.S.A. |
| Honda CBR500R | $6,399 | 2026 base MSRP with standard ABS. Honda separately lists a $600 destination charge and a $6,999 total MSRP. American Honda Motor Co., Inc. |
| Aprilia RS 457 | $6,849 | U.S. store price based on dealer availability. Aprilia lists 47 hp and 350 lb dry weight. Aprilia / Piaggio & C. S.p.A. |
| KTM RC 390 | $5,899 | Official U.S. page is for model year 2024 and lists an additional $575 freight charge. This is not verified as a current 2026 price; confirm model-year inventory with a dealer. KTM |
Kawasaki’s lineup page also displays a Ninja 300 at $4,999, but the surfaced information does not establish its model year or current availability. Treat it as a lead to verify, not a confirmed current new-bike choice. Kawasaki Ninja lineup

Why these prices are not a true cheapest-to-most-expensive ranking
A published base MSRP is a starting figure, not your final bill. Kawasaki says its base MSRP excludes destination, options, taxes, title and license, and dealer fees. Honda displays destination separately. The listed bikes also span 250cc, 457cc and 500cc examples, with different trims and standard equipment; price alone does not make them equivalent performance choices.
#1 Best Overall
- Entry-Level Sport Bike Design: The HHH Upgraded 250cc Motorcycle GTX 250 with EFI features a 6 speed manual transmission, hydraulic disc brakes (dual front), and 17-inch wheels with street tires
- Altitude Adaptability with EFI: Electronic Fuel Injection automatically compensates for changes in altitude by sensing air temperature and density, eliminating the need to manually adjust carburetors jetting at different elevations
- Enhanced Throttle Response: By delivering fuel directly into the combustion chamber in response to the rider's input, the EFI system eliminates throttle lag associated with carburetors, resulting in smoother and more instantaneous acceleration with dual front headlights and sporty styling
- Zongshen Engine with EFI Technology: HHH GTX 250 is powered by a Zongshen-brand engine and uses electronic fuel injection for better performance and fuel economy with high power output
- Easier Starting System: The EFI system optimizes fuel delivery for ambient conditions, ensuring reliable and easy engine starts, especially in cold weather, without the need for a manual choke
Availability matters, too. The Aprilia store price is explicitly subject to dealer availability, while the KTM figure is for a 2024 model. The Suzuki catalog price is published without a model year in the surfaced listing. Confirm the exact year and trim before comparing offers.
How to compare the actual cost before buying
- Confirm year and stock. Ask whether the quote is for a current model year that can be ordered or for leftover inventory, and confirm the exact trim.
- Check equipment. Compare ABS availability and whether it is standard or tied to a particular version; the Ninja 500, for example, has separate non-ABS and ABS base MSRPs.
- Request a written out-the-door quote. Ask the dealer to itemize MSRP, destination or freight, options, dealer fees, tax, title and registration. Kawasaki’s own page notes several charges excluded from its base MSRP.
- Compare like with like. Use the same region, model year, trim and fee assumptions for each quote. A lower advertised base price may not mean a lower purchase total.
These manufacturer listings establish prices and selected equipment facts; they do not establish comparative road performance, reliability, insurance costs, financing costs or independent value scores. For those, seek separate evidence rather than treating MSRP as a verdict.

Suzuki Motor USA advises: “For your safety, always wear a helmet, eye protection, and protective clothing when riding any motorcycle or ATV.” The company also says, “Take a riding skills course.” Those are manufacturer safety recommendations, not comparative claims about these bikes. This price comparison does not assess helmet fit, certification or specific protective gear. Suzuki safety guidance
