Which cars fit three car seats? Recent examples include the 2025 Kia Carnival Hybrid, plus Nissan’s Armada, Pathfinder, Murano and Rogue, according to Cars.com testing and Nissan’s own guidance. These are useful vehicles to shortlist, not a guarantee that every combination will fit: compatibility depends on the exact model year, seating configuration and child seats. Bring your own seats to the vehicle and try them in the positions you plan to use.
Which cars fit three car seats?
Three-across fit means three specific child seats can be installed side by side in the same row, with each installed according to both the vehicle and seat manufacturers’ instructions. A vehicle’s advertised seating capacity—or the presence of a center lower anchor—does not establish that three seats will fit.
Cars.com’s list, updated September 14, 2026, includes the 2025 Kia Carnival and 2026 Dodge Charger, along with vehicles from earlier model years. Treat the list as a starting point: year, trim and row configuration can change the result. See Cars.com’s three-car-seat vehicle list.
What do the documented examples show?
2025 Kia Carnival Hybrid
Cars.com tested a Prestige trim with a second-row three-seat bench and reported that its infant, convertible and booster seats fit across. The tested row had three sets of lower anchors and three top tethers. Cars.com also noted that the middle booster buckle was floppy and could be difficult for a child to grasp. This finding applies to that tested vehicle and seat combination, not every Carnival trim or configuration. Read Cars.com’s 2025 Kia Carnival Hybrid car-seat check.

Nissan Armada, Pathfinder, Murano and Rogue
In a FAQ dated September 30, 2026, Nissan says the Armada, Pathfinder, Murano and Rogue can fit three car seats across the second row. Nissan adds a specific installation condition for the Rogue: if the center lower-anchor position is used, an outboard car seat must be installed using the seatbelt rather than LATCH. Check the owner’s manual and the instructions for the exact seats before installing. Nissan’s statement is manufacturer guidance, not a test of every seat combination. Read Nissan’s owner FAQ.
2026 Dodge Charger and other Cars.com list entries
The 2026 Dodge Charger appears on Cars.com’s updated list, as do several earlier model-year vehicles. The list is useful for identifying candidates, but its entries should not be read as a guarantee for a different year, trim, row or set of seats. Verify the precise vehicle configuration and test your own seats before buying.

A useful counterexample: 2025 Infiniti QX60
In a Cars.com check of a 2025 Infiniti QX60 Luxe with a second-row bench, three seats did not fit because the middle position was too narrow. The vehicle had an additional center lower anchor, illustrating why anchor availability alone cannot prove that a three-across installation will work. Read Cars.com’s 2025 Infiniti QX60 car-seat check.
How to check whether three seats fit your family
- Confirm the exact vehicle. Check the model year, trim and second-row setup. A bench and captain’s chairs are different configurations; three seats across requires a suitable bench in the row you plan to use.
- Bring the actual seats. Try the infant seat, convertible seat and booster your children use—or the particular models you intend to buy—together in the intended positions. One seat’s shape and width can affect its neighbors.
- Install every seat by its manual. Use the permitted lower anchors or vehicle seatbelt for each position, following both the child-seat and vehicle instructions. Do not assume that one center anchor means adjacent seats can also use LATCH. Cars.com reports a 65-pound LATCH weight limit including the child and car seat; the applicable limits and instructions for your vehicle and seat control.
- Check the top tethers and each installation. Confirm the correct anchor and installation method for each seat in the vehicle manual. Make sure neighboring seats do not prevent a secure installation.
- Test buckle access. A booster rider must be able to reach and use the buckle. A seat may physically fit while leaving a child unable to fasten the belt easily.
- Check daily use. With rear-facing seats installed, confirm front occupants have usable room. If children need the third row, check that they can reach it with the seats installed and that the configuration works for your routine.
Cars.com describes its car-seat checks as using an infant seat, a convertible seat and a booster; its 2026 methodology names the Chicco KeyFit 30, Graco Extend2Fit 2-in-1 and Graco TurboBooster. Those are the publisher’s test choices, not a universal recommended combination. Cars.com says it tested 56 vehicles for its 2026 evaluation; that is the size of its review sample, not a market-wide compatibility statistic. Read Cars.com’s car-seat testing methodology.

What to confirm before you buy
- Does the exact trim have a second-row bench, and is it the configuration tested or described?
- Can all three of your seats be installed correctly side by side in the positions you need?
- Are the required lower anchors, seatbelts and top tethers available for those positions under the vehicle and seat instructions?
- Can a booster user reach and operate the buckle without the neighboring seat obstructing it?
- Do rear-facing seats leave enough room for front-seat occupants, and can children access the third row if needed?
Whenever possible, perform the fit check at a dealership before purchase. If you cannot get a secure installation or are unsure which anchors or belt path to use, consult the vehicle and child-seat manufacturers’ instructions and seek qualified child-passenger-safety assistance.
