Used RC F values vary by year, trim, condition, mileage, location and valuation method; two published estimates for a 2020 standard RC F differ substantially. Check the exact car and its history before treating the price difference as a bargain.
How the $20,000 comparison works
The new-car reference point is Toyota’s U.S. starting MSRP of $58,300 for the 2026 GR Supra. Toyota notes that delivery, processing and handling, taxes, title and license, and certain regional equipment can add to the cost; dealer pricing varies. Toyota’s 2026 GR Supra page lists the model, while Toyota’s full-line pricing notice describes pricing qualifications.
Against that $58,300 MSRP, a 2020 RC F estimate of $39,664 for an average-condition car produces a $18,636 difference. That is close to $20,000, but it is a calculation using Edmunds’ valuation—not a verified sale or a specific listing. Edmunds’ estimate assumes 12,000 miles per year and no options selected. A buyer’s actual price depends on the car and transaction.
Another source underscores why the headline should be treated as an example, not a general rule: Kelley Blue Book lists a $54,300 Fair Purchase Price for a 2020 RC F Coupe 2D, only $4,000 below the Supra’s starting MSRP before the Supra’s additional charges. The valuation sources use different methods and assumptions; they should not be averaged or read as quotes for the same vehicle.

For a defensible $20,000 claim about a specific car, compare its dated asking price—or documented transaction price—with the Supra price on the same date, identify the RC F year and trim, and account for mileage, condition, history and fees. A valuation estimate is not proof of what a particular car is listed for or will sell for.
What the final RC F and the new Supra offer
The Lexus RC and RC F ended production after model year 2025. Lexus announced the decision on January 16, 2025, noting that the two models had sold more than 90,000 units combined across 62 countries and regions over a decade; that total is for both RC and RC F, not the RC F alone. The final U.S. RC F was a mono-spec Final Edition. Lexus’s announcement gives the discontinuation details.

The final-edition specifications come from Lexus; the 2026 Supra specifications and price come from Toyota. The new-car MSRPs shown by Cars.com’s comparison make clear that a $20,000 lower price is a used-versus-new framing, not a comparison of the two models’ new-car starting prices.
Which car fits your priorities?
Choose the RC F if you want its V8 and four-seat layout
The RC F’s naturally aspirated V8 and four seats distinguish it from the Supra. The 2025 Final Edition’s automatic-only setup is a key consideration if you want a manual gearbox. Since the model has ended production, any purchase is of a used car, so assess that exact vehicle’s condition, maintenance and accident history, mileage and remaining warranty rather than assuming all RC Fs offer the same value.

Choose the Supra if you want a manual option and a new-car purchase
The Supra offers a six-speed manual as well as an eight-speed automatic, but it has two seats and a turbocharged inline-six rather than the RC F’s V8. Its new-car starting price is a useful baseline, not an out-the-door total; ask a dealer for the complete price for the car and region you are considering.

- Confirm the exact version. Record model year and trim; the standard RC F and Track Edition are not interchangeable in valuation.
- Inspect condition and history. Verify mileage, service records, title and accident history, and arrange an independent inspection. A valuation range cannot establish the condition of the car in front of you.
- Check the warranty. Confirm any remaining coverage and its terms for that specific used car; do not assume it matches a new Supra’s coverage.
- Price the whole purchase. Compare the RC F’s asking price and fees with the Supra’s dealer quote, including applicable charges. MSRP-to-asking-price comparisons are not automatically like-for-like.
- Consider tires and intended use. Lexus specifies Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S tires in 255/35ZR19 front and 275/35ZR19 rear sizes for the 2025 RC F Final Edition. Verify fitment for the car’s year, trim and wheels, along with tire condition and ratings. That specification does not establish replacement cost or availability.
The cited material does not establish that an RC F will cost less to maintain, insure, fuel or repair than a Supra. A lower purchase price alone cannot answer which car is the better value for your use.
