The Camperliebe CL1 was a four-berth motorhome conversion built on Hyundai’s H350 commercial van. Described in 2018 coverage and a Camperliebe brochure, it paired a pop-up roof bed and rear cabin bed with a compact kitchen, wet bathroom and tablet-based control system. Those details—and the prices reported at launch—are historical; current production, availability and support have not been established.
What was the Camperliebe CL1?
Camperliebe presented the CL1 as a motorhome based on Hyundai’s H350. New Atlas and a Camperliebe brochure documented the conversion in 2018. The launch-era coverage called it the first motorhome based on the H350, but that claim is not independently verified as market-wide exclusivity.
The H350 was a commercial-vehicle platform, not a camper designed by Hyundai. Hyundai Germany’s archived 2018 material describes the H350 family in Cargo van, chassis and bus forms. Its Cargo versions were offered at 5.52 m or 6.20 m in length, with up to 12.9 m³ of cargo volume; those are base-vehicle figures, not CL1 cabin dimensions. Hyundai Motor Deutschland’s archived H350 Cargo release provides that historical context.
How many people could sleep in it?
The 2018 Camperliebe brochure specifies four proper berths. Two people could sleep in the bed in the pop-up roof, and two in a bed at the rear of the cabin. New Atlas also describes seating for four around the dinette, with swivel cab seats. This describes the documented sleeping and seating arrangement, not a current specification for an available vehicle. New Atlas’s August 1, 2018 CL1 feature and the Camperliebe CL1 brochure are the source material for these layout details.
#1 Best Overall
- [Bugs Out Air In]: High-density mesh blocks mosquitoes, flies, and sand while allowing fresh air to circulate through your vehicle. Perfect for sleeping in your car during summer trips without worrying about bites or stuffy heat. Maintain a steady cross-breeze for a much more comfortable night on the trail
- [Secure Magnetic Install]: Features strong magnetic strips along the edges and bottom hooks for a tight seal against the metal body of your SUV or van. No drilling or permanent adhesives required; just snap it onto the frame of your tailgate. The magnets hold firm even in moderate wind conditions
- [Instant Privacy Screen]: Provides a layer of visual protection from outsiders while you rest or change clothes inside. The dark mesh material acts as a sunshade, reducing interior glare and keeping your cabin cooler during daytime stops. It is an essential upgrade for solo travelers and car campers
- [Rugged Nylon Mesh]: Built with tear-resistant polyester fiber that stands up to outdoor use and repeated folding. The lightweight design folds down small enough to fit under a seat or in your trunk organizer when not in use. This mesh won't fray or snag easily on zippers or typical camping gear
- [Wide Vehicle Compatibility]: fit most standard SUVs, vans, and hatchbacks. Ideal for car camping, tailgating, road trips, and fishing expeditions where you need a ventilated, bug-free living space. Double-check your rear opening dimensions to ensure a flush magnetic seal
What were the kitchen, bathroom and living systems like?
Kitchen and bathroom
The reported kitchen had a sink and dual-burner stove; the brochure lists a 130-liter refrigerator. A slim wet bathroom combined a toilet, sink and shower. New Atlas describes the shower faucet as part of this compact washroom, where the toilet and shower share the same space.
Tablet-based controls
New Atlas described a tablet interface for monitoring or controlling water, lighting, climate and battery functions. That is the documented smart feature: the article does not establish a particular tablet model, connectivity capability or current software support.

Other documented equipment
The 2018 brochure lists a Thule Omnistor awning, exterior shower, 220-volt exterior power socket, gas connection, fan, USB outlets and storage. It does not name the awning’s exact model. New Atlas separately reports a Truma Combi 4 Plus heater, a 95-Ah AGM battery, and 100-liter fresh- and waste-water tanks. Those specifications come from the article, rather than the cited brochure excerpt; exact models and other details beyond those reported are not established.
What was the Hyundai H350 base vehicle?
The CL1 used an H350 with a 2.5-liter diesel and six-speed manual transmission, according to the 2018 sources, but their engine figures do not align exactly. New Atlas gives 168 hp and 311 lb-ft. The Camperliebe brochure gives 125 kW (170 PS) and 422 Nm, with rear-wheel drive. Hyundai Germany’s 2018 chassis release lists H350 diesel variants rated at 150 PS and 170 PS. These figures should be kept with their respective sources rather than combined into one precise CL1 specification.

Hyundai’s regional H350 page lists features such as a rear-view display and optional 270-degree rear doors, but does not establish that every regional feature applied to the CL1. Hyundai cautions that “Images, engine specifications and information posted above may differ from region to region.” Hyundai’s H350 features page is regional, so its details should not be assumed to describe every H350 or conversion.
How much did the Camperliebe CL1 cost?
New Atlas reported in 2018 that a complete van started at €58,500, while Camperliebe offered the conversion for €29,500 when the customer supplied an H350. These are launch-era reported prices, not current quotes; the sources do not establish present-day pricing or availability.

What did the brochure say about warranty?
The Camperliebe brochure described German-market Hyundai manufacturer coverage of five years for the vehicle and paint, up to 200,000 km, whichever limit came first, subject to stated exceptions. It also mentioned five years of mobility assistance. This is brochure-era language, not confirmation that the coverage applies to an existing CL1 or a newly converted vehicle. Owners would need to confirm terms directly with Hyundai and the converter.
Is the CL1 still available?
The detailed CL1 feature, equipment, warranty and price information available here dates to 2018. It does not establish whether Camperliebe still builds the CL1, accepts orders, or supports existing conversions. Anyone considering one should verify the converter’s current status, the vehicle’s documentation and service history, and the specific equipment fitted to that individual van.
