The Buzzsaw Boss Hog is a chopper-styled electric scooter reported in 2021 as a Jigsaw Electronics product. Its motorcycle-inspired frame and equipment made it stand out, but the headline performance figures were company claims—not independently tested results—and its current availability has not been confirmed.
What is the Buzzsaw Boss Hog Chopper?
The Boss Hog was presented as an electric scooter with the look of a compact chopper motorcycle. New Atlas and Golem.de both reported it as a Jigsaw Electronics product in September 2021. Its design used a one-piece tubular metal frame, aluminum alloy wheels and puncture-resistant tubeless tires. The reported equipment also included front and rear suspension, hydraulic disc brakes, LED lighting and an LED dashboard. New Atlas and Golem.de covered the scooter during its 2021 crowdfunding campaign.
Reported specifications
These figures come from 2021 coverage of the product and should be read as reported manufacturer specifications, not independently verified performance.
| Specification | Reported figure | Qualification |
|---|---|---|
| Motor | 3,000 W brushless rear hub motor | New Atlas reported this as a manufacturer specification in 2021; Golem.de also reported a 3 kW motor. |
| Battery | 60 V / 30 Ah removable lithium battery | Reported by New Atlas in 2021. |
| Range | Up to 50 miles (80 km) | Manufacturer claim reported by New Atlas in 2021; Golem.de also reported up to 80 km. No independent real-world range test is established. |
| Top speed | 50 mph | Manufacturer claim reported by New Atlas in 2021; Golem.de reported up to 80 km/h. Neither figure is an independently verified test result. |
| Weight | 198 lb (90 kg) | Reported by New Atlas in 2021; Golem.de also reported 90 kg. |
| Maximum load | 450 lb (204 kg) | Reported by New Atlas in 2021. |
| Charging time | Four to six hours | Reported by New Atlas in 2021; the coverage does not specify charging conditions. |
What the performance figures do—and do not—tell you
The reported 3 kW motor, 80 km claimed range and speed figures give a snapshot of how the scooter was presented during its campaign. They are not a basis for predicting range or speed in everyday use: the available reports do not provide independent road-test results or conditions behind those claims. The 50 mph and 80 km/h figures are also not interchangeable exact conversions; they are the figures reported by New Atlas and Golem.de, respectively.
