The Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport is a limited Chiron variant tuned for agility, cornering grip and quicker response rather than the standard car’s highest possible top speed. Bugatti specified a 350 km/h (217 mph) electronically limited maximum, a 1,500 hp W16 and a 60-car production run. The figures and engineering claims below come from Bugatti—not independent road testing—so this is a factory-spec review, not a firsthand driving review.
What the Chiron Pur Sport is—and what this review can establish
Bugatti introduced the Pur Sport as a more handling-focused member of the Chiron family. Its changes target response through corners: shorter gearing, revised chassis settings, high-grip tires and a fixed rear wing. The trade-off in Bugatti’s specification is a 350 km/h maximum speed, rather than an emphasis on the highest top speed.
Bugatti described the car as intended for both roads and circuits, but its published specifications do not establish how comfortable it is on rough roads, how easy it is to use every day, or how it performs in an independent road test. Those judgments would require evidence beyond manufacturer materials.
Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport specifications
| Specification | Bugatti-published figure |
|---|---|
| Engine | 8.0-litre W16 with four turbochargers |
| Power and torque | 1,103 kW / 1,500 hp; 1,600 Nm |
| Transmission and drive | Seven-speed dual-clutch transmission; permanent all-wheel drive |
| 0–100 km/h | 2.3 seconds |
| 0–200 km/h | 5.5 seconds in Bugatti’s later delivery release and technical specification sheet |
| Maximum speed | 350 km/h (217 mph), electronically limited |
| Tires | Bugatti-exclusive Michelin Sport Cup 2 R; 285/30 R20 front, 355/25 R21 rear |
| Length | 4,647 mm |
| Width | 2,162 mm including mirrors |
| Height | 1,212 mm |
| Wheelbase | 2,711 mm |
| Weight | Bugatti’s technical sheet lists 1,995 kg DIN empty, but its footnote identifies this as the base Chiron value because the Pur Sport was not homologated as a variant. Bugatti separately says its lightweight measures reduce weight by about 50 kg; 1,995 kg should not be treated as a confirmed Pur Sport curb weight. |
| Fuel consumption and CO₂ | WLTP combined: 25.19 l/100 km and 571.64 g/km CO₂ on the technical sheet; Bugatti’s current newsroom presentation rounds these to 25.2 l/100 km and 572 g/km. |
These are manufacturer specifications, not independently measured results. Bugatti’s earlier May 2020 technology release gave 0–200 km/h in 5.9 seconds; its later delivery release and technical sheet give 5.5 seconds. The later figure is used here for the delivered car’s specification.

How the Pur Sport differs from the standard Chiron
The central difference is the intended balance: Bugatti set up the Pur Sport to respond more sharply and generate more cornering grip, while accepting a lower maximum speed. Its changes are not merely cosmetic.
Gearing and engine response
Bugatti says the transmission has revised ratios that are 15 percent shorter, along with a revised seven-speed transmission and a higher engine rev range. Shorter gearing is intended to make the car’s response more immediate; it does not change the stated 1,500 hp and 1,600 Nm output.

Chassis and tires
Bugatti revised the chassis geometry and fitted firmer springs and model-specific Michelin Sport Cup 2 R tires. The manufacturer attributes ten percent more lateral acceleration to the tire structure and compound. Its technical sheet cites 1.6 g lateral acceleration in handling mode. Both are Bugatti claims or specifications, not outcomes verified by an independent test.
Jachin Schwalbe, Bugatti’s Head of Chassis Development, said: “The significantly harder springs offer the best compromise between sporty handling, traction and ride comfort for the Chiron Pur Sport.” That is the manufacturer’s engineering rationale, not an independent assessment of ride comfort.

Aerodynamics and appearance
The Pur Sport has a larger rear diffuser and a fixed rear wing measuring 1.90 m. The wing and handling-focused setup make it visually distinct from the standard Chiron; the 350 km/h limit reflects the different priority Bugatti set for the car.
What the engineering claims mean for a buyer
Bugatti’s Head of Development, Stefan Ellrott, called the car “much more agile, firm and precise.” Transmission development engineer Carl Heilenkötter said the team spent “one and half years developing the control system” to make each shift fit driving conditions. These comments explain the development goals, but they should not be mistaken for independent reviewer findings.

How fast is the Chiron Pur Sport from 0 to 100 km/h?
Bugatti quotes 2.3 seconds from 0 to 100 km/h. Its later delivery release and technical sheet quote 5.5 seconds from 0 to 200 km/h. These are manufacturer figures; no independent acceleration test result is established here.
What is the top speed of the Chiron Pur Sport?
Bugatti specifies an electronically limited top speed of 350 km/h (217 mph). The limit is part of the Pur Sport’s handling-oriented brief: Bugatti prioritized agility and cornering grip over the highest possible maximum speed.

How much does a Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport cost?
Bugatti announced a net base price of €3 million in 2020 and a North American base MSRP of $3,599,000 when it described the planned series-production car. Its 2021 customer-delivery release again stated a €3 million net unit price. These are original manufacturer launch-price statements, not current used-car prices or confirmed sale values. A current secondary-market value is not established by the available information.
How many Chiron Pur Sports were made?
Bugatti said the production run was limited to 60 cars in its 2021 customer-delivery release. The same release showed one individualized example finished in Quartz White and Grey Carbon with an Italian Red interior and an optional Sky View roof; that specification should not be taken as representative of every car.
Where to see Chiron Pur Sport photos
Bugatti’s technology release gallery includes development and test images, including pre-series cars and testing at Bilster Berg. Its 2021 delivery release gallery shows the first delivered example. The latter depicts one customer’s chosen finish and options, not the full range of production specifications. Check Bugatti’s image credits and usage terms before reusing photos.
Factory figures versus independent review
Bugatti’s figures provide a clear picture of the Pur Sport’s engineering brief and stated performance, but they are not a substitute for independent testing. No independent road-test results, present-day used-market transaction data or verified current asking prices are established here. That distinction matters most for claims about handling, comfort, real-world performance and what the car is worth today.
