Brompton’s U.S. storefront currently lists the Electric G Line with its e-Motiq system for $4,950 and shows it in stock with purchase controls. That confirms current U.S. availability, but Brompton’s earlier announcement does not establish the exact date the bike first went on sale in the country.

When did the Electric G Line launch in the U.S.?
Brompton’s earlier U.S. announcement promoted dealer test rides ahead of a planned fall launch and invited readers to sign up for purchase availability. It is a pre-launch announcement, not confirmation of the first retail sale date. The current product listing establishes that Brompton is offering the bike in the U.S. now, but the exact historical on-sale date is not established by these official pages. What the U.S. Electric G Line includes
The U.S. model is a folding electric bike with larger wheels than Brompton’s more city-oriented electric models. Brompton lists a steel frame, 20-inch wheels, a four-speed drivetrain, hydraulic disc brakes and three frame sizes: small, medium and large. Fenders, a rear rack and integrated lights are included; a front carrier block accepts compatible Brompton luggage. Weight and folded size
Brompton lists the bike at 42.9 pounds with the battery and 34.6 pounds without it. Its folded dimensions start at 28.3 × 26.2 × 16 inches (72 × 67 × 41 cm). Those figures matter if you plan to carry the bike up stairs, lift it onto transit or store it in a compact space: folding remains central to the design, but the G Line is the heavier, larger-fold option in Brompton’s electric range.
Range figures differ between Brompton pages
Brompton’s U.S. product detail estimates 20–45 miles (30–60 km) per charge, while its electric-bike comparison guide gives the Electric G a range of 18–37 miles. These are manufacturer estimates, not guaranteed distances, and the official pages do not reconcile the difference. Actual range depends on conditions such as route, rider and assist use, so treat either figure as a guide rather than a promise.

Is the Electric G Line suited to your riding?
Brompton positions the G Line for riding beyond smooth tarmac, with 20-inch wheels and a more upright ride position than its city-oriented electric options. Its comparison guide presents the P Line as the more portable, urban choice; the G Line is heavier and has the largest fold in the electric range. Both retain Brompton’s folding format, but the trade-off is straightforward: the G Line prioritizes a larger-wheel mixed-terrain ride over the easiest carry and smallest folded footprint. Brompton’s materials do not establish the G Line as a mountain bike, so it is better understood as a mixed-terrain or adventure-oriented folder than as a trail bike.
Safety and warranty information
Brompton says the Electric G Line system is UL 2849 compliant and meets New York City regulations for the safe sale and use of e-bikes and batteries. That is the manufacturer’s statement; the product listing alone is not an independent certification record. Brompton also says bike registration provides an extended seven-year frame warranty and that e-bikes receive a three-year electric-system warranty.
