Bobcat introduced two gasoline utility vehicles for the 2020 model year: the three-seat UV34 and the six-seat UV34XL. In its May 6, 2020 announcement, Bobcat listed both with a 39.9-hp engine, a 1,250-lb cargo-box load capacity and a 35-mph maximum speed. The UV34 is rated for 1,900 lb total vehicle capacity; the UV34XL for 2,075 lb. Bobcat also said both could tow up to 2,500 lb with the receiver hitch. These are manufacturer-published figures, not independent test results.
What were Bobcat’s new gas UTVs for 2020?
The launch models were the Bobcat UV34 Gas and UV34XL Gas. Bobcat described the UV34 as seating an operator and two passengers, while the longer UV34XL seats an operator and five passengers. The UV34XL is the choice in this pair for carrying more people; its higher total vehicle rated capacity does not mean it has a larger cargo box load rating.
Bobcat announced an all-new chassis, enhanced suspension, increased towing capacity, a new gasoline engine and more integrated accessories for the 2020 models. The company described the engine as a two-cylinder, single-overhead-cam (SOHC) unit. Promotional descriptions in the announcement, including claims of “industry-leading” performance or “proven durability,” are Bobcat’s characterizations rather than independent comparisons.

How much can a Bobcat UV34 tow?
Bobcat’s launch announcement says the receiver hitch can tow up to 2,500 lb. That is a manufacturer-stated maximum, not an independent towing test result. Tow only within the vehicle’s applicable operating limits and check the operator’s manual and hitch requirements for the specific model and configuration.
What do the capacity figures mean?
The cargo-box load capacity and total vehicle rated capacity describe different limits. Bobcat listed a 1,250-lb cargo-box load capacity for each model, separately from a total vehicle rated capacity of 1,900 lb for the UV34 and 2,075 lb for the UV34XL. The XL’s larger total rating should not be read as an increase to its cargo-box rating. Consult the applicable manual for how occupants, cargo and accessories count toward operating limits.

What features and accessories did Bobcat announce?
The release describes a 900-watt stator and a cargo box that could be emptied manually or equipped with an optional powered lift. Examples of accessories named by Bobcat include LED work lights, a radio, brush guard, in-cab heater, cargo-box divider and lockable toolbox. The announcement does not establish that every item was standard or available on every configuration; verify model-year fitment and current availability with Bobcat or an authorized dealer.

No. Bobcat’s current product pages are useful for checking specifications, but their displayed prices and promotions are not a record of 2020 retail pricing. The pages listed starting prices and promotions with end dates of September 30, 2026; those offer dates had passed by October 8, 2026. Check Bobcat or a dealer for current pricing and availability rather than treating those figures as either historic 2020 prices or live offers.
