BMW says the first BMW ALPINA model is due in 2027 and will be inspired by the 7 Series. An X7 is reported to follow as the second model, based on remarks attributed to BMW R&D chief Joachim Post. BMW has not yet announced production specifications, prices, ordering details or market availability for either vehicle.
Is BMW making an ALPINA 7 Series?
Yes. BMW Group says the first model under the relaunched BMW ALPINA marque is due in 2027 and will be inspired by the BMW 7 Series. The official announcement does not give an exact reveal, production, ordering or delivery date. BMW’s brand announcement describes the 7 Series connection as inspiration; it does not provide a production-car specification sheet.

Is an ALPINA X7 coming?
Auto Express reported on 19 March 2026 that BMW R&D chief Joachim Post identified the X7 as the second model after the 7 Series to receive ALPINA treatment. When will the new BMW ALPINA models launch?
BMW’s official materials place the first model in 2027. They do not state a specific date for its unveiling, start of production, order opening or customer deliveries. The X7 is reported to follow the first model, but no launch year or date for it is established in the cited material.

In BMW’s May 2026 press release, BMW ALPINA head Oliver Viellechner said: “BMW ALPINA fills a gap in our portfolio between BMW and Rolls-Royce as we see even more potential in the high-end segment. Will the Vision BMW ALPINA go into production?
BMW identifies Vision BMW ALPINA as a design study, not a confirmed production car. It signals design direction, but BMW has not confirmed that the study itself will be built or that its styling, equipment or powertrain will carry over unchanged to the 7 Series-inspired model or the reported X7.
