It is also the heaviest choice for carrying. The Ninebot F2 weighs less, while the P65 has the highest listed top speed. These are comparisons of manufacturer specifications and features—not results from independent ride testing.
Which Segway scooter is best for adults?
For everyday riding where a more comfort-oriented feature set matters most, start with the Segway Ninebot MAX G2. Segway specifies front hydraulic and rear spring suspension, traction control and 10-inch self-sealing tubeless tires. Those features make it the clearest comfort-first option in this comparison, but they do not prove it will feel best on every road or for every rider.
Choose the F2 if you expect to lift or carry your scooter more often: Segway US lists it at about 37.9 lb, compared with about 53.5 lb for the MAX G2. Consider the P65 if its higher listed top speed matters more than portability; at about 61.7 lb, it is the heaviest of the three. All three have a listed maximum payload of 265 lb in the cited US support specifications.
How the three models compare
| Model | Best fit | Officially listed specifications | Main trade-off |
|---|---|---|---|
| Segway Ninebot MAX G2 | Comfort-focused commuting and everyday riding | About 53.5 lb; 265 lb maximum payload; 1000 W maximum power; 10-inch self-sealing tubeless tires. Segway describes front hydraulic and rear spring suspension, plus traction control. US manual: about 43 miles theoretical range; about 25 miles at the higher 22 mph setting. | Heavier to lift and carry than the F2. Speed and range depend on model, setting and test conditions. |
| Ninebot F2 | Lighter commuter use and riders who carry their scooter | About 37.9 lb; 265 lb maximum payload; 18 mph maximum speed; about 25 miles theoretical range and about 18 miles at maximum speed on Segway’s US support listing. | The cited materials place less emphasis on suspension than for the MAX G2. Range figures are estimates under specified conditions, not guaranteed daily distance. |
| Segway P65 | Riders prioritizing higher listed speed and range over portability | About 61.7 lb; 265 lb maximum payload; 25 mph maximum speed; 40.4 miles typical range and 21.2 miles high-speed range on Segway’s US support listing. | Heaviest of these models. Its range categories should not be treated as directly equivalent to the other scooters’ estimates. |

What makes the MAX G2 the comfort-focused pick?
Segway lists front hydraulic and rear spring suspension, a traction-control system and self-sealing tubeless tires for the MAX G2. Together, these features distinguish it as the comfort-oriented choice on paper among the three models. Suspension may help manage surface irregularities, while traction control is intended to support grip; neither feature removes the need to slow down and ride cautiously over rough or slippery ground.
The trade-off is practical as well as technical: at about 53.5 lb on Segway’s US support listing, the MAX G2 is substantially heavier than the F2. If your commute includes stairs, transit transfers or frequent lifting, consider whether the comfort-oriented feature set is worth carrying that extra weight.

How far can each scooter go on one charge?
Range labels are not interchangeable. Segway reports different categories—such as theoretical, typical and high-speed range—and its estimates depend on test setup. Treat them as manufacturer figures under stated conditions, not as a promise of the distance you will cover in daily riding.
MAX G2
Segway’s 2024 US manual lists about 43 miles of theoretical range and up to about 25 miles at the higher 22 mph setting. The manual’s stated test conditions are a 75 kg (165 lb) load, 25°C (77°F) and pavement. These are manufacturer claims, not independent test results. The manual lists a factory-default top speed of about 20 mph and about 22 mph when a higher setting is enabled through the app.

Ninebot F2
Segway US Support lists about 25 miles of theoretical range and about 18 miles at maximum speed for the F2. Segway’s support listing provides test conditions for those figures; check that page and the exact model documentation when estimating a route. Do not assume the theoretical figure is a realistic daily commute distance.
P65
Segway US Support distinguishes 40.4 miles of typical range from 21.2 miles of high-speed range for the P65. Preserve that distinction when comparing it with another scooter: a typical-range figure and a high-speed figure describe different use conditions.

How to choose for your commute
- Measure the carrying problem. If you must lift the scooter regularly, compare the listed weights first: about 37.9 lb for F2, 53.5 lb for MAX G2 and 61.7 lb for P65 on Segway’s US support pages.
- Match the route to the feature set. For a comfort-oriented specification package, the MAX G2 is the clearest fit here. For carrying convenience, the lighter F2 is more practical on paper. The P65 suits a rider who values its higher listed speed and accepts the extra weight.
- Estimate range conservatively. Compare the same range category where possible, then allow a margin for your actual speed, rider and cargo weight, weather, surface and route. The listed figures come from different categories and conditions.
- Check your local rules. A scooter’s listed maximum speed does not establish where that speed is legal. Segway warns that state or local authorities may set limits for kick scooters used on roads.
- Confirm the exact regional version. Review the model name, manual and specifications for the market where you will ride; regional variants and settings can differ.
Safety checks before riding
The US Consumer Product Safety Commission recommends wearing a bicycle helmet, following local traffic laws and manufacturer instructions, and inspecting the scooter before each ride. Its checklist includes handlebars, brakes, throttle, bell, lights, tires, cables and frame. Riders should also be visible and watch for obstacles: small scooter tires can stop suddenly on uneven surfaces.
- Wear a properly fitted bicycle helmet.
- Check controls, brakes, tires, lights and the frame before setting off.
- Follow local traffic rules and the scooter’s stated limits.
- Stay visible and slow down for uneven surfaces and obstacles.
