There is no single best scooter tire for every rider. The right choice starts with the tire sizes and front/rear fitment approved for your scooter, then depends on where and how you ride. Use manufacturer product descriptions as a shortlist—not as proof of a universal performance ranking—and verify the exact size and specification before buying.
How to choose scooter tires
- Confirm the approved fitment. Check your scooter’s owner’s manual and the current tire sidewalls for the required dimensions and front or rear position. The front and rear sizes may differ. Michelin advises against changing the original dimensions unless the vehicle manufacturer validates the alternative, because a size change can affect vehicle geometry. - Match the tire to your riding. Consider whether your usual routes involve wet urban streets, dry roads, longer commutes, or sporty riding. Tread design and rubber compound are among the factors Michelin identifies for wet performance, but the cited manufacturer guidance does not provide an independent ranking of grip.
- Account for scooter type. Electric scooters add a rolling-resistance and battery-use consideration; small-wheel retro scooters and sporty maxi scooters may have different tire options. The product examples below reflect manufacturer positioning, not head-to-head test results.
- Check the complete specification and local availability. Confirm the precise size, front or rear designation, rim compatibility, load and speed markings, and vehicle approval. Availability and price depend on your market and the required size.

These are candidates to investigate, not a universal ranking. Product lineups and sizes vary by market and can change, so check the manufacturer’s current fitment information for your location before purchasing.
What grip and performance claims can tell you
Wet and dry grip matter, but a product description alone does not establish how one tire performs relative to another. Michelin identifies tread and compound as factors in wet-road performance; the manufacturer pages cited here do not provide independent comparative test results or a quantified grip advantage for the listed models. Use those descriptions to identify tires worth checking after you have confirmed fitment.
For an electric scooter, Michelin recommends considering a tire designed for lower rolling resistance and names City Grip Saver as an option. Its guidance does not quantify any increase in battery range, so do not treat the product description as a specific range promise.

Use the right pressure and keep tires in good condition
- Follow the scooter manufacturer’s recommended inflation pressure and check it when the tires are cold. Bridgestone notes that the pressure shown on a tire sidewall is a maximum-load marking; it may not be the vehicle’s recommended operating pressure. Consult the applicable scooter manual and Bridgestone’s tire manual.
- Inspect tires for damage and wear, and observe the vehicle’s load limits. A tire that is damaged, worn or used with an incorrect rim fit is not made safe by choosing a well-regarded model.
- Use a qualified tire service provider for mounting and repairs. Follow your scooter manual and local rules for the vehicle-specific requirements.

- Write down the approved front and rear sizes from the manual or current tires.
- Shortlist models intended for your scooter type and riding conditions.
- Check each candidate’s exact market-specific size, position, rim compatibility, load and speed specification, and vehicle approval.
- Confirm local stock and price with a retailer or dealer, then follow the scooter maker’s pressure guidance after installation.
