July 2024’s new-car deals included reported cash offers as high as $18,500 on Lexus models, special financing as low as 0% APR on selected models from several brands, and lease examples with payments starting at $179 per month. These are historical offers, not deals available today. JD Power’s roundup was based on a Los Angeles-area ZIP code and information current as of July 9, 2024, while Cars.com’s Fourth-of-July offers included an example that expired July 8.

What counted as a July 2024 new-car deal?

Promotions came in different forms, and the headline value did not necessarily apply to every buyer or combine with other incentives. JD Power described its July roundup as using a popular Los Angeles, California ZIP code; the publication said the information was as complete and accurate as possible on July 9, 2024. It cautioned that offers varied by model and could change or expire. See JD Power’s July 2024 roundup.

  • Cash offers: Rebates that the roundup generally described as available for purchase or lease, subject to the offer’s terms.
  • Loyalty cash: Targeted incentives for people who already owned or leased a vehicle from the same manufacturer.
  • Conquest cash: Targeted incentives for owners or lessees of a competitor’s vehicle.
  • Special APR financing: Discounted loan rates tied to qualifying borrowers and a specified finance institution. JD Power said these rates typically required very good or excellent credit.
  • EV-related value: Incentives tied to electric vehicles or plug-in hybrids. JD Power noted that an automaker might apply a credit amount to reduce lease payments even on a model that would not otherwise qualify for the credit.

Do not add advertised maximums together unless the specific offer says they can be combined. A low APR and a cash rebate may be mutually exclusive, and “up to” figures are reported caps, not guaranteed savings for every buyer. The cited roundups do not establish that every incentive could be stacked.

Reported cash offers by brand

JD Power reported these July 2024 maximums across the offers it reviewed. They are not nationwide guarantees, and the maximum could apply only to a particular model, buyer, or transaction type.

Brand or offer Reported July 2024 maximum Important qualification
Lexus Up to $18,500 in cash offers JD Power-reported maximum; model and offer terms varied.
BMW Up to $15,000 in cash offers JD Power-reported maximum; model and offer terms varied.
Toyota PHEV or EV Up to $15,250 in reported purchase or lease value JD Power’s listed July incentives; not a universal tax-credit entitlement.
Jeep Up to $9,500 cash; up to $15,000 loyalty cash Separate general cash and targeted loyalty figures, not necessarily combinable.

These figures are attributed to JD Power’s July 2024 offer roundup. Its reported maximums should be read in the context of the model-specific and local terms, rather than as a single discount available on every vehicle from a brand.

Which brands advertised 0% financing?

JD Power listed 0% APR among the lowest reported financing rates for Ford, Hyundai, Kia, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Subaru, Toyota, and Volkswagen in July 2024. The rates were model- and eligibility-dependent; the roundup’s brand-level summary does not mean every vehicle from these automakers qualified.

A promotional APR is a loan offer, not a cash rebate. Before comparing it with a rebate, check the exact vehicle, loan term, required credit qualifications, finance source, and whether the offer can be combined with other incentives. The source does not establish stackability for every model. The reported rates are historical and should not be taken as current financing offers.

Fourth-of-July example: 2024 Kia Forte

Cars.com highlighted a factory discount of $1,250 on its 2024 Kia Forte editor’s choice, with an approximate after-savings price of $20,000–$25,500. The publication listed an offer end date of July 8, 2024, so this is a short-window holiday example—not a deal available throughout July or a current price quote. July 2024 lease-payment examples

CarEdge reported these examples for June and July 2024. Monthly payment alone does not show the full cost of a lease; the due-at-signing amount, fees, mileage allowance, eligibility, and end-of-lease obligations also matter. The cited figures do not establish a total ownership cost.

Vehicle Reported payment Term Due at signing
Kia Forte $179 per month 24 months $3,434
Toyota bZ4X $259 per month 36 months $0

These are historical examples from CarEdge’s June and July 2024 deals coverage, not current lease quotes. The cited summary does not supply mileage limits or all fees and contract terms for these examples.

How to judge a deal for your circumstances

  1. Match the exact vehicle. Confirm model year, model, trim, and powertrain; a brand-wide maximum may apply only to one vehicle or configuration.
  2. Check your eligibility. Establish whether the offer requires current ownership or lease of the brand, a competitor vehicle, qualifying credit, or another condition.
  3. Compare rebate and financing scenarios. Ask for the full price and financing terms with each available option, and verify in writing whether incentives can be combined.
  4. For a lease, compare the complete commitment. Review the term, due-at-signing amount, mileage allowance, fees, and obligations at lease end—not just the monthly payment.
  5. Verify location and dates. The cited JD Power figures were based on a Los Angeles-area ZIP code and were current to July 9, 2024; Cars.com’s Forte example ended July 8. Offers may differ by location and expiration.

JD Power advised readers to check with the automaker or local dealership for details and clarification about offers in their area. For any offer you are considering now, rely on its current written terms rather than a 2024 roundup.
