Which electric convertibles can you buy in 2026?
The answer depends on where you shop. The clearest current specifications in the available manufacturer listings are for Maserati’s U.S. model-year 2027 GranCabrio Folgore, while the MG Cyberster is a German-market option described by ADAC. Those are different markets and model years, so their prices and range figures are not directly comparable.

What makes the GranCabrio Folgore the strongest documented choice?
For a buyer prioritizing a four-seat, open-top EV with published manufacturer specifications, the GranCabrio Folgore is the most fully documented option here. Maserati’s U.S. page lists room for four adults, a retractable soft top, an estimated 249-mile range, and a $150,200 starting MSRP for its 2027 lineup. Its stated acceleration, top speed, and charging figures are manufacturer claims, not independent test results.

Maserati’s global MY27 page presents a separate set of figures: 761 CV (560 kW), up to 610 kW in MaxBoost, 1,350 Nm of torque, and 0–100 km/h in 2.8 seconds. It says the Wheel End Disconnect system extends homologated range up to 509 km, subject to ongoing homologation. These global figures and qualifications should not be conflated with the U.S. page’s 751 hp, 249-mile estimated range, or its pricing. See Maserati’s global MY27 specifications.
Is the MG Cyberster a good alternative?
For German buyers, ADAC’s August 2026 overview makes the MG Cyberster the clearest alternative in this evidence set, reporting 250 kW, rear-wheel drive, up to 500 km WLTP range, and a price around €65,000. That combination makes it a different proposition from the much more expensive Maserati, but the cited overview does not establish U.S. availability, pricing, seat count, or charging performance. Confirm current local stock and specification before treating it as an orderable option.

Which electric convertibles are limited-run or not yet confirmed?
MINI Electric Convertible
MINI UK describes an electric convertible with a soft top and equipment including navigation, parking assistant, heated seats, and a heated steering wheel. Its page does not establish 2026 new-car availability, current price, or range. Treat it as a market-specific or limited-run possibility and check local inventory rather than assuming it is generally on sale. MINI UK’s Electric Convertible page.

Polestar’s August 2022 production-intent announcement described a hard-top convertible roadster on a bespoke bonded-aluminium platform, with 800-volt architecture, up to 650 kW (884 hp), 900 Nm, a targeted 0–100 km/h time of 3.2 seconds, and a 250 km/h top speed. Those are announcement-era targets, not confirmation of a production car available to order. The release expected a 2026 launch, but ADAC’s August 2026 overview says the car’s future remains uncertain and suggests it could arrive later, around 2029. Wiesmann Project Thunderball
Wiesmann’s corporate site describes Project Thunderball as an all-electric, two-seat convertible, but does not establish a production date or current orderability. Its separate information about a refundable reservation for Project Meisterwerk is not evidence that Thunderball can be ordered. Wiesmann’s corporate site.
Other reported possibilities
ADAC’s August 2026 account characterizes the Tesla Roadster as uncertain, notes repeated delays to a Porsche 718 successor decision, and discusses spotted BMW 4 Series convertible prototypes while speculating an electric version is likely. How much range should you expect from an electric convertible?
The figures in these sources use different bases. Maserati’s U.S. page gives an estimated 249 miles for the 2027 GranCabrio Folgore without stating an EPA label in the cited information; ADAC reports up to 500 km WLTP for the MG Cyberster in Germany. Maserati’s separate global MY27 page gives up to 509 km as a homologated range figure subject to ongoing homologation. These numbers should not be ranked as if they came from the same test standard or market. Real-world range also depends on driving conditions, speed, temperature, and vehicle use; the cited sources do not provide comparable independent road-test results.

What should you check before buying?
- Confirm local orderability. Check the manufacturer or local dealer for the exact country and model year; a product page or past limited run does not prove a new car is currently available.
- Match the range figure to its basis. Distinguish an estimate, WLTP figure, and a range still subject to homologation, and do not assume any is a real-world result.
- Check practicality. Confirm seating and luggage needs, roof operation, and whether the car’s two-seat or four-seat layout suits your use.
- Verify charging at home and on the road. Maserati recommends dedicated 240V Level 2 home charging for a high-performance EV and identifies a Maserati Wallbox option. Check household electrical capacity, connector compatibility, installation requirements, and the vehicle’s actual AC and DC charging capability. Maserati’s U.S. dealer locator.
