Is the Benda BD500 really a V4?
Yes. BENDA’s official product page identifies the Dark Flag 500 as a 496.4 cc V4 with 16 valves and liquid cooling. The engine’s listed compression ratio is 11.5:1. BENDA calls it “The First V4 Platform Tech-Cruiser From China”; available information does not independently establish that broader first-in-China claim.

How much power does the Dark Flag 500 make?
Output depends on the market version. BENDA’s official specification lists 35 kW at 9,500 rpm and 42 Nm of torque at 7,300 rpm. Benda Baltic lists a 40 kW high-power version, also at 9,500 rpm, with 42 Nm at 7,300 rpm. Those figures should not be combined or treated as one universal specification; check the exact version being offered by a local dealer.

What equipment does it have?
BENDA’s published equipment includes belt final drive, a slipper clutch, ABS, traction control (TCS), electronic rear air suspension, cruise control, and idle shutdown. The official listing also gives EU5+ homologation. Equipment can differ by version: BENDA’s description of the later Commander says several features that were previously optional became standard on that model.

Dark Flag 500 Commander update
BENDA announced the Dark Flag 500 Commander in China on July 25, 2024, describing it as an upgraded version of the original. According to the manufacturer, Brembo brakes, adaptive cruise control, and electronic air suspension became standard on the Commander. It also received a full-color TFT display and styling changes. These are manufacturer descriptions; confirm the equipment on the specific bike for sale, rather than assuming every Dark Flag 500 has Commander specification. BENDA announcement of the Commander

The wheelbase discrepancy is substantial, so use the specification sheet for the exact market and version instead of assuming either dealer figure applies universally. The published 260 kg curb weight also makes the low, adjustable seat height only one part of the fit question; prospective riders should assess the bike’s mass and handling at a local dealer. How much does the Benda Dark Flag 500 cost?
The cited European dealer listings show market-specific prices, not a universal price: Benda Baltic lists €8,430, while the Czech importer lists 199,990 CZK / €7,999. The pages do not establish that the prices include the same taxes, delivery costs, or equipment. Its distinguishing proposition is unusually specific: a V4 cruiser engine paired with belt drive and technology such as electronic rear air suspension and idle shutdown. The manufacturer and distributors publish meaningful specifications, but the available material does not establish real-world fuel economy, long-term reliability, independently measured performance, or how it compares in a controlled test with rival cruisers.

Before deciding, verify the exact local engine output and equipment, sit on the bike, and ask about dealer service access and warranty coverage. Those checks matter especially where the same model name appears with different power figures or conflicting published dimensions.
