The screen-used Hero Batmobile from Tim Burton’s 1992 film Batman Returns is scheduled to go to auction on November 23, 2026, in Los Angeles and online. Julien’s Auctions has announced a presale estimate of $5 million to $7 million—not a sale price. At that level, the car’s forecast sits above the $4.6 million paid for the 1966 television-series Batmobile in 2013, the earlier benchmark cited by the auction house.

How much is the Batman Returns Batmobile worth?
The auction house’s announced presale estimate is $5 million to $7 million. That is an auction estimate, not an independent appraisal, guaranteed minimum, or completed sale price. The November auction has not yet taken place, so there is no verified result to report.

Both figures are from the auction house’s announcement; the older result is a past sale, while the Batman Returns figure is a forecast. The comparison explains the price-scale headline, but does not make the movie car a road-going hypercar.

Is this the original movie car?
Julien’s identifies the featured lot as the screen-used Hero Batmobile from Batman Returns. Event coverage reports that it served as the Number One Hero car during principal photography. That distinguishes the auction lot from a replica, scale model, or licensed toy; it is the vehicle identified as used in filming, rather than a retail collectible.
How was the Hero Batmobile built?
Julien’s credits the build to car customizer Carl Casper. Its description says the chassis was spliced from two Chevrolet Impalas, with a jet-turbine-style nose and a body sculpted largely by hand.

Michael Uslan, described in the coverage as the Batman film franchise’s originator and executive producer, summed up the car’s place in the character’s appeal: “The four most important things that define Batman: 1. He has no superpowers. 2. He has the greatest rogues’ gallery of supervillains. 3. He has the most impactful origin story of any superhero. 4. The Car.”
