Sí. Desde el 1 de enero de 2026, los vehículos sujetos a la norma deben llevar una baliza V16 conectada certificada para señalizar una inmovilización en España. La DGT considera infracción leve no llevarla y fija la sanción en 80 euros. No basta con que el producto se anuncie como «conectado»: comprueba la marca y el modelo exactos en el listado oficial de la DGT.
¿A qué vehículos afecta la obligación?
La DGT incluye turismos, furgonetas, autobuses, vehículos mixtos, camiones y conjuntos de vehículos no especiales. Las motocicletas no están obligadas, aunque la DGT recomienda llevar una V16.

Desde el 1 de enero de 2026, la V16 conectada es el único dispositivo legal para señalizar vehículos inmovilizados en España. Las V16 sin conexión ya no sirven para cumplir esa obligación, ni tampoco los triángulos como dispositivo sustitutivo.
Qué multa corresponde por no llevarla
La DGT califica como leve la infracción de no llevar la baliza y señala una sanción de 80 euros, el mismo importe que atribuye a no llevar triángulos de preseñalización. La cuantía y la obligación pueden cambiar si cambia la normativa; consulta la información vigente de la DGT si necesitas confirmar la situación en otra fecha.

Cómo comprobar que una baliza V16 es válida
Busca la marca y el modelo exactos en el listado oficial de dispositivos V16 certificados de la DGT. Solo son válidos los modelos incluidos en ese listado tras superar la certificación en los laboratorios designados; la DGT menciona IDIADA y LCOE. La expresión «homologada» o «conectada» en una tienda, por sí sola, no demuestra que el producto concreto cumpla la norma.
- Localiza la marca y el modelo exactos en el envase o la ficha del producto.
- Compáralos con una entrada vigente del catálogo de la DGT; no te guíes solo por el nombre comercial de la gama.
- Comprueba el tipo de alimentación y su estado: puede funcionar con pilas o batería, y debe garantizar al menos 30 minutos de funcionamiento continuo y 18 meses de autonomía en reposo, según la DGT.
La DGT no recomienda una marca por encima de otra. La validez depende de la certificación del modelo exacto; las fuentes oficiales citadas no permiten comparar precios, durabilidad real o facilidad de uso entre modelos.

Cómo usarla cuando el vehículo queda inmovilizado
- Guárdala en un lugar accesible del vehículo y mantenla cargada o con las pilas en estado operativo.
- Actívala y colócala en la parte más alta posible del vehículo, siguiendo las indicaciones del fabricante.
- Al activarse, transmite la ubicación del vehículo a DGT 3.0.
La finalidad de la señalización es reducir la exposición al tráfico al evitar que el conductor tenga que salir para colocar triángulos. En una nota del 25 de noviembre de 2025, la DGT estimó que alrededor de 25 personas fallecen cada año en España atropelladas en carretera después de bajar de un vehículo; la cifra es aproximada y atribuida a la DGT.

Según la DGT, la ubicación se transmite cuando se activa la baliza; no hay seguimiento permanente ni se envían datos personales. La conectividad mínima es de 12 años y está incluida en el precio, sin cuota adicional para el particular.

La V16 no llama al 112 ni a la grúa: señaliza el vehículo y envía su ubicación, pero no solicita asistencia. Si necesitas emergencias o ayuda en carretera, debes contactar con el servicio correspondiente por separado.
En la nota de prensa del 25 de noviembre de 2025, el director general de Tráfico, Pere Navarro, afirmó: «La implantación de la V16 conectada supone un salto adelante y nos sitúa como referentes europeos en seguridad vial. Permite señalizar sin salir del vehículo, evita riesgos innecesarios y aporta información vital a los demás usuarios de la vía.»
