The 1,284 cc, liquid-cooled inline-four is the bike behind the “biggest” headline—but this is not the end of every Honda four-cylinder motorcycle. The announcement covers Japan, and Honda has separately announced a 2026 CB1000F for the U.S. market.
Which Honda inline-four is going away?
It is the Honda CB1300 series. In a February 21, 2025 announcement, Honda named four Final Edition variants as the final models of the current series and said they would launch in Japan through Honda Dream on February 28, 2025. The release describes Honda’s Japanese market plan; it does not establish when or whether remaining stock or used bikes will be available elsewhere. Honda’s CB1300 Final Edition announcement.
“Biggest” refers to the CB1300’s 1,284 cc engine among the models discussed here—not to every Honda motorcycle or every Honda inline-four. Honda specifies a liquid-cooled, four-stroke, DOHC, four-valve inline-four for the Final Edition, producing 83 kW (113 PS) at 7,750 rpm and 112 N·m at 6,250 rpm in its Japan specification table.
The four Final Edition variants
- CB1300 SUPER FOUR Final Edition
- CB1300 SUPER BOL D’OR Final Edition
- CB1300 SUPER FOUR SP Final Edition
- CB1300 SUPER BOL D’OR SP Final Edition
Honda describes the SUPER BOL D’OR as a version with a half fairing. The SP variants add dedicated front forks, rear suspension and front calipers, aimed at sportier handling and a higher-grade ride. For the Final Edition, the standard versions use graphite black, while the SP versions use pearl sunbeam white; all receive Final Edition tank stickers and gold chains.

What does Honda’s 3,400-unit figure mean?
Honda’s release gives an annual domestic sales plan of 3,400 units for the CB1300 series. That is a planned annual sales figure for Japan, not a stated global production cap, a confirmed lifetime total or a promise of 3,400 Final Editions in each variant. The announcement does not give a worldwide allocation.
How does the CB1300 differ from the CB1100?
The CB1300 and CB1100 are distinct roadsters. The CB1300 Final Edition has a liquid-cooled engine; the CB1100 was an air-cooled inline-four. Honda says the CB1100 was discontinued in 2021 after an 11-year production run because complying with newer emissions standards was becoming increasingly difficult. Honda describes that discontinuation as the end of its air-cooled inline-four era, not the end of all its inline-four motorcycles. Does Honda have another four-cylinder bike coming?
Yes, but it is a separate model, not a stated CB1300 replacement. American Honda announced the 2026 CB1000F for the U.S. market, describing it as a retro-styled four-cylinder model based on the CB1000 Hornet SP platform. The U.S. announcement gives an MSRP of $10,599 and planned availability in May 2026; those details apply to that market and release, not to the CB1300 or a global rollout. Honda’s wording makes the current CB1300 series’ Final Edition a clear endpoint for the models announced in Japan. It does not establish that Honda will never build another CB1300, nor does it say that all Honda inline-four motorcycles are ending. The separate CB1000F announcement is evidence that Honda has another four-cylinder model planned for the U.S., but Honda has not identified it as a successor to the CB1300.
