The 2024 Aston Martin Vanquish uses seven separate LED blades to frame its rear Shield, giving the flagship a distinctive alternative to a single, continuous light bar. Aston Martin’s launch materials connect the lamps to the car’s front grille and describe them as part of a wide, sharply cut Kamm-tail design.
What the Vanquish teaser reveals about the taillights
The production Vanquish has seven discrete LED blades at the rear. They sit around the Shield panel, where the Aston Martin wordmark appears. The arrangement is not a full-width light bar: its separate elements create a repeated blade pattern and visually frame the center of the tail.
Aston Martin says the seven blades mirror the front grille and emphasize the car’s width. The company also notes that the design was first seen on the Valkyrie. Those are the manufacturer’s descriptions of the styling, rather than an independent assessment of how the lights look on the road.
How the lamps fit into the rear design
The taillights are one part of a larger composition. Aston Martin’s 2 September 2024 launch release describes broad rear haunches, an integrated decklid spoiler and a floating-style Shield panel surrounded by the light blades. A diffuser and quad tailpipes complete the lower rear. Together, those elements give the tail a broad, sculpted outline rather than making the lamps appear as a separate graphic pasted onto it.

The Shield can be specified in carbon fibre or body colour, according to the launch release. Aston Martin’s current US model page also lists a gloss-black finish. Finish choices and availability can differ by market, so the US page should not be taken as a universal specification.
Which Vanquish is shown, and when did it launch?
The teaser concerns the third-generation Vanquish, Aston Martin’s flagship revived after the previous nameplate’s run ended in 2018. The company announced the car on 2 September 2024 and held its public unveiling in Venice on 3 September. Aston Martin says the premiere was presented by Aston Martin Aramco Formula One team drivers Lance Stroll and Fernando Alonso.

The launch positioned the Vanquish as the only model in Aston Martin’s core portfolio with a bespoke, Aston Martin-developed 12-cylinder engine. That context helps explain why this is a flagship design reveal, but the teaser’s subject remains the rear lighting and bodywork.
What Aston Martin claimed about the 2024 Vanquish
For the 2024 launch, Aston Martin listed a 5.2-litre twin-turbo V12 producing 835PS and 1,000Nm, with a maximum speed of 214mph. These are manufacturer-published specifications, not independent test results. The launch release also described production as limited to fewer than 1,000 examples per year and said first deliveries were expected in the fourth quarter of 2024; that historical delivery statement does not indicate current stock or availability.

Aston Martin’s official launch materials establish the production car’s seven-blade rear-light layout and how it relates to the Shield, grille and Kamm-tail bodywork. They do not, by themselves, verify a particular teaser-video page, its publication date or the sequence of shots in a specific clip. Nor do they establish an objective styling advantage over another car. The design is best judged directly: look at whether the separated blades, rather than a continuous bar, suit the Vanquish’s wide rear.
