What did he say about ethanol blending?
Srinivasan said ethanol blending could reduce India’s dependence on fuel imports and described its effect on performance as marginal. Those are his assertions as reported, not independently measured findings in the coverage.
He also said offering a choice of blends may be less necessary up to E10, but could matter at higher blend levels because of concerns about effects on vehicle materials. What was his message to Indian manufacturers?
Srinivasan urged Indian manufacturers to improve quality and productivity and meet or exceed international benchmarks to expand their role in global manufacturing. The reports attribute to him the statement: “We have to make India synonymous with the word quality.”
