Engadget’s August 30 report described the vehicle and relayed the anonymous seller’s claims; it did not establish whether the listing later sold.
What was listed on eBay?
Engadget reported on August 30, 2024, that a pre-production Arrival Gamma electric van had been listed on eBay. The anonymous seller said they had worked for Arrival and bought the van at a liquidation auction in June for an undisclosed amount. Those details are the seller’s account, not independently verified provenance. Engadget’s report also quoted the seller describing it as “the only known running and fully operational Arrival Gamma Van available.” That exclusivity and operating-condition claim was not independently certified.
What did the van appear to include?
Engadget described sliding electric doors, a dashboard touchscreen and intact shelving. The van appeared to be in good working order in the report, and the seller suggested it could be used as a campervan. These observations do not amount to a mechanical inspection, roadworthiness assessment or confirmation that it was suitable for road use.
Did the van sell, and for how much?
At the time of Engadget’s August 30, 2024 report, the highest bid was £5,600 (approximately $7,368). That was a snapshot of bidding, not a confirmed final sale price. The report does not say whether the listing ended in a sale, what the final price was, or what the listing’s status is now.

Why was an Arrival prototype on the market?
The listing came after the electric delivery-vehicle company’s collapse. Engadget reported that Arrival built 25 vans in 2021 for testing and had committed to build 10,000 vehicles for UPS; the commitment does not mean 10,000 were delivered. The report also said Arrival had $205 million remaining at the end of January 2023 and closed up shop in 2024. The seller’s claimed purchase at a liquidation auction offers a possible route by which this particular prototype reached eBay, but the cited report does not independently document the vehicle’s ownership history.
