As of August 10, 2026, 2025-model-year Ford vehicles are involved in safety recalls filed in 2024, 2025, and 2026. The list below organizes the current U.S. recall activity by Ford model, explains the known defect and risk, and identifies operating restrictions where Ford or NHTSA has issued them.

Scope: This article covers recalls affecting 2025-model-year Ford vehicles, not every Ford recall announced during calendar year 2025. A recall filed in 2026 can still apply to a 2025 Ford. The model-level information is a research index; only a 17-character VIN search can tell you whether a specific vehicle has an open or completed recall.

Check your VIN before driving, buying, selling, charging, or towing with a 2025 Ford. Use both the Ford recall lookup and the NHTSA recall lookup. If either site shows an open recall, contact a Ford dealer and ask whether the remedy is available.

Check your 2025 Ford VIN first

A model-year list cannot determine whether your vehicle is affected. Recall eligibility can depend on the VIN, build date, assembly plant, engine, transmission, body style, hybrid or electric configuration, trailer-tow package, mileage, and previous repair history. A recall associated with a model does not mean every vehicle of that model has the defect.

  1. Find the vehicle’s 17-character VIN. It is commonly visible through the windshield, on the driver-door label, registration, title, or insurance documents.
  2. Open Ford’s recall page, enter the VIN, and review open recalls and remedy availability.
  3. Run the same VIN through NHTSA’s lookup. Use the NHTSA campaign number to locate the official recall report.
  4. Schedule the repair with a Ford dealer. Safety-recall remedies are generally provided at no charge, although towing, rental, diagnostic, aftermarket-equipment, or unrelated repair costs can involve separate policies.

NHTSA says a year/make/model search provides general recall information; the VIN search determines whether a particular vehicle needs the repair. Ford’s lookup is useful because it can show Ford-specific remedy and completion information. Neither a dealer listing nor a third-party model page is a substitute for the VIN result.

For researchers: NHTSA’s recall data tools

NHTSA’s datasets and APIs can be used to identify campaign records. The vehicle-discovery sequence is:

https://api.nhtsa.gov/products/vehicle/modelYears?issueType=r
https://api.nhtsa.gov/products/vehicles/makes?modelYear=2025&issueType=r
https://api.nhtsa.gov/products/vehicle/models?modelYear=2025&make=Ford&issueType=r

A model query follows this pattern:

https://api.nhtsa.gov/recalls/recallsByVehicle?make=Ford&model=F-150&modelYear=2025

NHTSA’s downloadable recall data is useful for cross-model matching, but the live VIN lookup remains the decisive source for an owner.

2025 Ford recall activity at a glance

The following are current indexed campaign counts from NHTSA-linked model pages and cross-model databases. They are not reliability scores, and they are not the number of open recalls on every vehicle. NHTSA may split gas, hybrid, electric, early-release, later-release, cab, van, and commercial-chassis variants into separate model records.

2025 Ford model Indexed campaigns* Important issue or qualification Operating restriction or pending remedy
Bronco 18 Multiple configuration-specific records; some apply only to four-door vehicles or selected powertrains. Some records filed in 2026; check VIN.
Bronco Sport 7 Instrument-cluster, engine, EGR, air-bag-sensor, and suspension campaigns. Do not plug in affected engine block heaters; do not drive affected lower-ball-joint vehicles.
Escape gas / plug-in hybrid Variant-dependent The 2025 Escape PHEV is included in high-voltage-battery recall 26V091. Charging restrictions applied while the final battery remedy was pending.
Expedition 5 Engine oil leak, passenger air bag, electronic brake booster, and trailer-module campaigns. Check brake-booster and trailer-function status before driving or towing.
Explorer 21 One of the most affected 2025 Ford model records; includes gas, hybrid, police, seat, camera, engine, and lighting issues. Some 2026 campaigns had remedies under development or projected for 2026-2027.
F-150 14 Engine, axle, steering, brake-booster, instrument-cluster, hybrid, and trailer-module issues. Several campaigns affect steering, propulsion, braking, or towing.
F-250 Super Duty 6 Shifter, diesel fuel-return line, brake-pedal pushrod, instrument cluster, trailer module, and driveshaft. Do not drive vehicles affected by 25V401 until repaired.
F-350 Super Duty 6 Shares the primary Super Duty campaigns with the F-250. Confirm brake, driveshaft, and trailer-module repairs.
F-450 Super Duty 4 Shifter, brake-booster pushrod, instrument cluster, and trailer module. VIN-specific; commercial configurations may be classified separately.
F-550 Super Duty Variant-dependent Included in the brake-booster pushrod campaign; other commercial records require a separate query. Do not drive if 25V401 applies until repaired.
F-53 / F-59 3 for F-53 Commercial stripped-chassis records filed in 2026 include brake-light and front-axle-hub hardware issues. Check the chassis VIN rather than relying on the completed vehicle’s model name.
F-600 1 Integrated trailer module. Trailer brake and lighting communication can be lost.
F-650 2 Transmission park-pawl and tie-rod campaigns. Check for rollaway and steering-related open recalls.
Maverick gas / hybrid Inconsistently indexed Several cross-model campaigns include 2025 Mavericks, but NHTSA taxonomy separates gas, hybrid, early-release, and later-release variants. Do not rely on a page showing zero; run the VIN.
Mustang 5 Transmission, exterior lighting, EGR, body-control-module, and wiper campaigns. Loss of drive power or exterior lighting may be involved.
Mustang Mach-E 5 Park function, door latch, lighting, and lighting-control-module campaigns. Confirm park engagement and lighting repairs.
Ranger 13 NHTSA and third-party pages use variant-specific classifications. Use the VIN lookup for the complete configuration-specific result.
Transit gas / E-Transit Inconsistently indexed At minimum, rearview-camera and engine campaigns include 2025 Transit vehicles. Commercial van variants should be queried separately.
E-Series vans Variant-dependent 2025 E-350 is listed under a park-pawl campaign; E-450 and other chassis labels require separate checking. Run the chassis VIN through Ford and NHTSA.

*Counts are database or page counts as indexed on the stated date. They can differ when NHTSA groups body styles, powertrains, commercial chassis, or early- and later-release vehicles differently. A count does not say whether a particular vehicle’s repair is open or complete.

2025 Ford Bronco

The current indexed 2025 Bronco record shows 18 campaigns. The available model-level data indicates that eligibility varies substantially by body style and powertrain, including records limited to certain four-door vehicles. Because the supplied model record does not identify every Bronco campaign detail in a normalized list, owners should use the 2025 Bronco index as a navigation aid and confirm the complete result by VIN.

Known 2026 Bronco campaign

NHTSA campaign Ford number Problem and risk Remedy/status
26V403 Not identified in the supplied record Fender-flare issue affecting certain Bronco vehicles. The exact affected configuration is VIN-specific. Final remedy was projected for late August 2026 in the indexed notice. Treat the projected date as an estimate, not a guarantee.

A Bronco having 18 associated campaigns does not mean all 18 apply to it. Build date, doors, engine, and prior repair history can change the result.

2025 Ford Bronco Sport

The current indexed record shows seven campaigns. These include recalls announced after the 2025 model year began.

NHTSA campaign Ford number Problem Risk and operating instruction Remedy/status
25V049 25C02 The instrument panel may fail to illuminate at startup or while driving. Vehicle speed, warning lights, and other critical information may be unavailable. Replace the instrument cluster.
25V343, expanded by 26V239 Not identified On certain engines equipped with an engine block heater, the heater may overheat when plugged in. Do not plug in the engine block heater until the vehicle is repaired. Check the current Ford notice because 26V239 expands the earlier campaign and remedy instructions can change.
25V372 Not identified Defective cylinder-head ball plugs may allow an engine-oil leak. Loss of drive power or an engine fire may result. Confirm the VIN-specific remedy with Ford or NHTSA.
25V788 Not identified The instrument panel may fail at startup on certain 2025-2026 Bronco Sport and Bronco vehicles. Important vehicle information may be hidden. Software update.
26V122 Not identified An EGR-valve failure may occur. Unexpected loss of drive power is possible. Replace the EGR valve. The indexed notice projected the final remedy for September 2026.
26V201 Not identified The passenger-occupant classification sensor may fail to correctly identify an adult or child in the front passenger seat. The air-bag system may deploy incorrectly for the occupant. Check the VIN notice for remedy availability.
26V340 Not identified A lower control-arm ball joint may have been incorrectly installed or repaired. The campaign covers certain 2021-2026 Bronco Sport and 2022-2026 Maverick vehicles, including some 2025 vehicles. Owners were advised not to drive affected vehicles until repaired. Suspension separation could affect control. Dealer inspection and correction or replacement as specified by the recall notice.

2025 Ford Escape, including the plug-in hybrid

Escape Plug-In Hybrid: 26V091

Certain 2025 Escape Plug-In Hybrid vehicles are included in NHTSA 26V091, a high-voltage-battery campaign. An internal short circuit can cause battery failure, loss of drive power, and fire risk.

The interim response included software changes and charging limitations while the final remedy was pending. Follow the owner letter exactly, including any instruction about charging or parking. The remedy status and eligibility must be checked by VIN through Ford or NHTSA; see the 2025 Escape PHEV recall record.

The supplied model data does not establish a blanket zero-recall result for the gas Escape. Do not interpret the absence of a campaign in this summary as proof that a particular gas Escape has no open recall.

2025 Ford Expedition

The current indexed Expedition record shows five campaigns. Several also cover the related Lincoln Navigator, but Lincoln vehicles are not included in this Ford guide.

2025 Ford Explorer

The 2025 Explorer has one of the largest indexed recall lists, with 21 campaigns in the current model-year record. The list includes gas, hybrid, police-vehicle, seat, camera, lighting, engine, trailer, and windshield issues. A few third-party pages show 19 rather than 21, which is why the live NHTSA response and VIN lookup should take priority.

NHTSA campaign Issue or affected feature Risk / remedy status
24V634 Fuel-injector O-ring support discs. Configuration and remedy are VIN-specific; consult the official report.
24V801 Rearview-camera software. Rear visibility may be affected; verify the software remedy.
24V852 Missing air-bag warning label. Label replacement or correction as specified by Ford.
25V020 Loose transmission crossmember bolts. Chassis or transmission retention issue; dealer inspection and repair.
25V164 Incorrectly machined transmission valve body. Transmission operation may be affected; follow the recall repair instructions.
25V239 Powertrain-control-module reset and park-system/engine-stall risk. Loss of propulsion or a park-system problem is possible; confirm remedy status.
25V316 Front-subframe mounting bolt. Structural retention issue; dealer repair required if the VIN is included.
25V344 Connecting-rod and rod-bearing defects. Engine failure or loss of drive power may result; follow the owner notice.
25V371 Front-brake-caliper bolts. Brake-component retention issue; arrange prompt repair.
25V393 Second-row easy-entry seat switch. Seat movement or access may not operate as intended; check remedy.
25V543 Trailer-tail-light and body-control-module issue. Trailer lighting may be lost; confirm operation before towing.
25V687 Trailer-hitch bolts. Hitch retention and towing safety may be affected; do not tow until repaired if the recall applies.
25V691 Pedestrian-warning sound on certain hybrid police vehicles. Pedestrians may not hear the vehicle; remedy is configuration-specific.
25V730 Windshield air bubbles. Visibility or windshield performance may be affected; follow the repair notice.
26V121 Dynamic-bending-light software. Headlamp behavior may be incorrect; software remedy status is VIN-specific.
26V122 EGR valve. Failure may cause unexpected loss of drive power; valve replacement, with timing dependent on the affected vehicle.
26V159 Second-row seat-belt anchor bolts. Seat-belt restraint performance may be affected; arrange repair.
26V165 Rearview camera and advanced-driver-assistance image-processing module. Camera or driver-assistance images may be unavailable or incorrect; software or module remedy depends on the VIN.
26V343 Engine failure and loss of drive power. Replacement remedy was projected for November 2026; additional owner letters were expected when engines became available.
26V415 Pedestrian-warning sound on Explorer Hybrid. Pedestrians may not hear the vehicle. The remedy was still under development for some affected vehicles.
26V451 Second-row easy-entry seat switch expansion. Remedy was projected for January 2027 in the indexed notice. Treat that as a projected date.

See the 2025 Explorer recall index and cross-model listing. The official VIN result controls whether a specific Explorer is affected and whether a repair has already been completed.

2025 Ford F-150

The current indexed F-150 page reports 14 campaigns. The campaign material available for this guide identifies the following 12 NHTSA numbers; the linked live model page contains two additional indexed records that should be retrieved rather than guessed or omitted. This is an example of why a static article cannot replace a VIN search.

2025 F-250, F-350 and F-450 Super Duty

NHTSA’s model taxonomy generally shows six campaigns for the 2025 F-250 and F-350 and four for the 2025 F-450. The F-450 is not simply a heavier version of the F-250 record in every database: commercial classification and equipment can change which campaigns appear.

NHTSA campaign Ford number Affected Super Duty models Problem, risk, and remedy
25V163 25S20 F-250, F-350, F-450 The steering-column shifter may detach, preventing selection of Park and creating rollaway risk. Dealer repair is required if the VIN is included.
25V306 25S44 F-250 and F-350 Diesel fuel-return-line connectors may crack and leak fuel into the engine compartment, creating a fire risk. Confirm the dealer repair.
25V401 25C26 F-250, F-350, F-450 and F-550 The brake-booster pushrod retaining spring may be missing. The pushrod can disconnect from the brake pedal, causing sudden loss of brake function. Owners were advised not to drive until repaired. See the official NHTSA report.
25V540 25S88 F-250, F-350 and F-450 The instrument cluster may fail at startup, hiding speed and warning information. Follow the specified repair or software remedy.
26V104 26C10 F-250, F-350, F-450 and F-600 The integrated trailer module may lose communication, causing loss of trailer brake or turn-signal functionality. A dealer or OTA software update is the remedy when available.
26V119 26S13 F-250 and F-350 A rear-driveshaft friction weld may fail. Driveshaft separation can cause sudden loss of drive power. Check the VIN and complete the specified driveshaft repair before towing or normal use if the recall applies.

F-550, F-600, F-650, F-750, F-53 and F-59 commercial chassis

Commercial Ford vehicles are easy to miss because the completed vehicle may be sold as a motorhome, bus, ambulance, work truck, or other upfit rather than under the chassis name. Check the Ford chassis VIN, not only the body builder’s model or the finished vehicle’s registration description.

F-550

The 2025 F-550 is specifically included in 25V401 / Ford 25C26, the brake-booster pushrod retaining-spring recall described above. Do not drive an affected truck until repaired. Other F-550 records should be checked separately because the database may classify them apart from the F-250 through F-450 consumer pages.

F-600

The indexed 2025 F-600 record shows 26V104 / Ford 26C10. Loss of communication with the integrated trailer module can remove trailer-brake or lighting functions. See the F-600 index and confirm the VIN remedy before towing.

F-650

NHTSA campaign Problem Risk
23V625 Transmission park-pawl engagement. The vehicle may not stay in Park, creating rollaway risk. Check whether the repair is open or completed.
24V494 Tie-rod assemblies. A steering-related failure is possible; obtain the VIN-specific remedy.

The 2025 F-650 index reports these two records. The F-750 and other medium-duty configurations should be queried separately through NHTSA and Ford.

F-53 and F-59 stripped chassis

The indexed 2025 F-53 record shows three campaigns, including 2026 records involving brake-light switches, brake-light operation, and front-axle hub hardware. The supplied model data does not provide all campaign numbers or a normalized F-59 list. Use the F-53 recall index, then verify the completed chassis VIN through Ford and NHTSA.

2025 Ford Maverick, gas and hybrid

Do not publish or rely on a statement that the 2025 Maverick has zero recalls merely because one model-year page returns zero. NHTSA and cross-model records include 2025 Mavericks in several campaigns, while the database can separate early-release, later-release, gas, and hybrid variants.

NHTSA campaign Problem Risk / remedy
25V343, expanded by 26V239 Engine block heater may overheat when plugged in on specified vehicles. Do not plug in the block heater until repaired. Check whether the expansion applies to the VIN.
25V863 Integrated park module. Park engagement may be affected; confirm the VIN-specific repair.
26V104 Integrated trailer module. Trailer braking or lighting communication may be lost; verify the system before towing.
26V122 EGR valve. Failure may cause unexpected loss of drive power; remedy is configuration-specific.
26V201 Passenger-occupant classification sensor. The front passenger air-bag system may not correctly classify an adult or child; check the remedy.
26V340 Lower control-arm ball joint may have been incorrectly installed or repaired. Owners were advised not to drive affected vehicles until repaired.

Cross-check the 2025 Maverick page against the cross-model Bronco Sport listing and, most importantly, the VIN lookup.

2025 Ford Mustang

The current indexed record shows five campaigns.

NHTSA campaign Problem Risk / remedy
25V164 Transmission valve body. Transmission operation may be affected; use the VIN-specific dealer remedy.
25V519 LED driver-module failure affecting exterior lighting. Required exterior lighting may be lost; arrange repair promptly.
25V546 Water intrusion into the body-control module. Exterior lighting may be lost; follow the Ford repair instructions.
26V122 EGR valve. Failure may cause loss of drive power; remedy is valve replacement when available.
26V418 Windshield-wiper motor behavior in cold temperatures. Wiper performance and visibility may be affected; check the remedy before driving in conditions requiring wipers.

25V404 Electronic door-latch behavior during low-battery conditions. Door operation may be affected; follow the specified software or component remedy.
25V519 LED driver-module lighting failure. Exterior lighting may be lost; arrange repair.
25V863 Integrated park module. Park function may be affected; check the VIN-specific remedy.
25V885 Lighting-control-module failure. Exterior lighting operation may be affected; complete the specified module repair or update.

2025 Ford Ranger

The current indexed 2025 Ranger record shows 13 campaigns, but the supplied campaign material does not provide a normalized campaign-by-campaign list. NHTSA and third-party pages can classify Ranger configurations differently. Do not use the count as proof that a Ranger has 13 open recalls, and do not infer that an individual truck is unaffected from a conflicting model page. Use the 2025 Ranger index, then confirm the complete result by VIN through Ford and NHTSA.

2025 Ford Transit and E-Series vans

Transit and E-Transit

At minimum, 2025 Transit vehicles appear in these campaigns:

25V315 Rearview-camera software. Rear visibility may be affected; confirm the software remedy.
25V344 Connecting-rod and rod-bearing defects. Engine failure or loss of drive power may occur; check the VIN-specific remedy.

Transit gas and E-Transit records can be separated in the NHTSA taxonomy, and passenger, cargo, cutaway, and commercial variants may appear under different labels. Run the chassis VIN through the Ford lookup and NHTSA lookup.

E-Series vans

The 2025 E-350 is listed under 23V625, involving transmission park-pawl engagement and possible rollaway. E-450 and other E-Series or cutaway configurations should be checked separately; a completed van’s body or upfit name may not match NHTSA’s model label. The E-350 campaign listing is a cross-check, not a VIN completion record.

Which recalls deserve immediate attention?

All open safety recalls should be scheduled, but these operating restrictions or safety systems deserve particular attention:

  • Do not drive affected Super Duty trucks covered by 25V401 / 25C26. The brake-booster pushrod can disconnect from the pedal and cause sudden loss of brake function.
  • Do not drive affected Bronco Sport or Maverick vehicles covered by 26V340 until the lower control-arm ball-joint issue is repaired.
  • Do not plug in the engine block heater on vehicles covered by 25V343 or its 26V239 expansion until repaired.
  • Follow the charging restrictions for Escape PHEV campaign 26V091. A high-voltage-battery short can cause fire or loss of drive power while the final remedy is pending.
  • Do not tow with a trailer system that is not functioning. Campaign 26V104 can interrupt trailer-brake and lighting communication on certain Expedition, F-150, Super Duty, F-600, and Maverick vehicles.
  • Give prompt attention to steering, axle, brake, engine, and visibility issues. Examples include F-150 campaigns 25V309, 25V398, 25V512, and 25V540, as well as Super Duty campaigns 25V306, 25V401, 25V540, and 26V119.

Do not generalize a do-not-drive instruction from one campaign to every vehicle of the same model. The instruction applies when the specific VIN is included and the recall notice gives that restriction.

Recalls with delayed or unavailable final remedies

A recall can be open before the manufacturer has enough parts, software, or replacement engines to complete the final repair. As of the stated date, the indexed records identified these notable situations:

  • 26V343: Explorer engine replacement remedy projected for November 2026.
  • 26V451: Explorer second-row seat remedy projected for January 2027.
  • 26V403: Bronco fender-flare remedy projected for late August 2026.
  • 26V415: Explorer Hybrid pedestrian-warning remedy still under development for some vehicles.
  • 26V091: Escape PHEV interim charging restrictions applied while the final high-voltage-battery remedy was pending.
  • 26V122: The Bronco Sport EGR-valve remedy was projected for September 2026 in the indexed notice.

Projected dates are not guarantees. If your VIN shows an open recall with no remedy available, follow the owner letter, ask a Ford dealer whether an interim repair or loaner option exists, and keep records of your calls and appointments. Contact Ford if the dealer cannot schedule the remedy. You can also report a safety concern or remedy problem through NHTSA’s recalls and investigations resources.

How to interpret Ford recall information

Model year is not calendar year

2025-model-year recall means a recall affects a vehicle built and sold as a 2025 model, regardless of when the campaign was announced. Recall announced during 2025 means the campaign was filed between January 1 and December 31, 2025, and may cover many model years. This article uses the first definition.

A safety recall is not a service bulletin

The main list includes NHTSA safety recalls. It does not automatically include customer-satisfaction programs, warranty extensions, technical service bulletins, manufacturer communications, complaints, or investigations. Those may be important, but they are not equivalent to a federally regulated safety recall and should not be mixed into the campaign count.

A campaign number is not an open-recall result

The NHTSA campaign number, such as 25V401000 or the shortened 25V401 used in this article, is the best cross-reference for the official federal record. The Ford recall number, such as 25C26, is commonly printed on Ford owner letters and dealer paperwork. Either number identifies a campaign; neither proves that a specific vehicle still needs the repair.

Expanded, replaced, and reissued campaigns need careful reading

A later campaign can expand the population covered by an earlier campaign, replace an earlier remedy, or address a related defect. The Bronco Sport engine-block-heater sequence, 25V343 followed by 26V239, is an example. Expedition electronic-brake-booster campaigns 25V488 and 25V823 likewise involve an earlier software issue and a later replacement campaign. Check the latest Ford and NHTSA record for the VIN rather than assuming the first campaign number is the entire story.

Why recall counts differ online

One source may show a different count because NHTSA separates gas and hybrid powertrains, BEVs, cab styles, early and later releases, passenger and cargo vans, or commercial chassis. Cross-model notices can also name a vehicle that does not appear on one consumer-facing model page. The 2025 Maverick is the clearest example: a page returning zero does not establish that every Maverick is recall-free.

Sources and data limits

The primary sources for this guide are NHTSA’s recall lookup, NHTSA’s datasets and API documentation, the Ford recall lookup, and individual NHTSA Part 573 recall reports. Additional model-page cross-checks are available through the 2025 Ford recall index and the linked model pages above.

Examples of official NHTSA reports include 25V401, 25V510, 25V197, 25V260, and 25V863. NHTSA also publishes a 2025 annual recalls report and a 2025 recall-completion report.

Because recall records can be added, expanded, corrected, or mapped differently over time, the date and VIN qualification matter. Use this article to find the likely model and campaign, then use the live Ford and NHTSA searches to make the decision for the vehicle in front of you.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does a 2026 recall apply to a 2025 Ford?

Yes. The model year and the announcement year are different. Campaigns such as the 2026 integrated trailer-module, EGR, engine, seat, lighting, suspension, and wiper recalls can affect 2025-model-year Ford vehicles. Check the VIN for eligibility.

Does every 2025 Ford of a listed model have every recall shown?

No. Recall eligibility can be limited by VIN, build date, engine, transmission, body style, hybrid or electric system, trailer equipment, and previous repairs. A model-level campaign count is not an individual vehicle diagnosis.

Can I drive a 2025 Ford with an open recall?

It depends on the campaign. Owners were specifically advised not to drive affected vehicles in Super Duty brake-pedal campaign 25V401 and Bronco Sport/Maverick lower-ball-joint campaign 26V340. Owners were also told not to plug in affected engine block heaters in 25V343/26V239. Follow the exact Ford or NHTSA notice for your VIN rather than applying a blanket rule.

What should I do if the recall remedy is not available?

Follow any interim instructions in the owner letter, including charging or use restrictions. Ask a Ford dealer about an interim repair, towing, loaner, or scheduling options, keep documentation, and contact Ford if the dealer cannot provide a remedy. You can report a safety or remedy concern to NHTSA.

Are Ford customer-satisfaction programs and technical service bulletins included here?

No. This guide is limited to NHTSA safety recalls. Customer-satisfaction programs, warranty extensions, technical service bulletins, complaints, and investigations are separate records and should not be counted as safety recalls.

Why does one website show a different number of recalls?

NHTSA’s model taxonomy can split gas, hybrid, electric, cab, body, commercial, early-release, and later-release variants. Cross-model campaigns may also fail to appear on a consumer model page. This is why the 2025 Maverick can appear to have zero on one page even though multiple campaign notices include 2025 Mavericks.

The Bottom Line

Bottom line: The 2025 Ford models with the largest current indexed campaign counts are the Explorer, Bronco, F-150, Ranger, and Bronco, but raw counts do not measure reliability or tell you whether a repair is open. Search your VIN through both Ford and NHTSA, follow any do-not-drive, charging, block-heater, or towing restriction, and schedule every open safety-recall remedy.
