Does the Durango really have 16 years without a redesign?
The “16 years without a redesign” phrase is not established by the cited official announcements. A separate Dodge announcement for the 2026 R/T 392 Launch Edition lists a 6.4-liter HEMI V-8, 475 horsepower, 470 lb.-ft. of torque, and a starting U.S. MSRP of $49,995. Those figures apply to that specific edition, not every Durango, and do not establish the redesign timeline. Dodge’s R/T 392 announcement provides those model-specific details.

The 2027 announcement makes color and customization the news, rather than claiming a redesign. Dodge CEO Matt McAlear framed the brand’s approach this way: “Dodge customers don’t blend in — and neither should their vehicles,” according to the announcement. After Dark gives buyers another factory color choice, but the announcement alone does not establish how the paint compares in person or whether it changes the Durango’s underlying design.
