Treat it as a historical outline—not a universal or current installation specification. Check the manual supplied with your exact kit before fitting parts or starting the engine.
Before you begin: check the bicycle and the kit
The 2008 fitting document identifies a standard 26-inch bicycle with a 25 mm round-tube frame as the easiest installation example. It notes that other frames may require adapter parts; it does not guarantee that any particular frame is compatible or safe. Frame geometry, mounting points, wheel and sprocket fit, and clearance around the engine and air intake all need to be checked against the actual components.
- Confirm the kit’s model, included hardware, and installation instructions. Do not infer component differences from the A50 and A80 labels alone.
- Check that the engine can sit securely within the frame and that the intake, controls, exhaust, and chain have adequate clearance.
- Verify the rear sprocket can be mounted and aligned with the drive chain on your wheel.
- Use the supplied manual’s specifications if they differ from the older reproduced instructions discussed here.
The detailed fitting document is hosted by Manualzz. A summarized reproduction is available from Manuals+. Neither source establishes current manufacturer instructions, so neither should replace documentation for your kit.
Installation sequence described in the fitting instructions
The following sequence reflects the general work covered in the A50/A80 document. It is not a substitute for kit-specific steps, torque values, or safety checks.
#1 Best Overall
- 🚴【High-Speed Riding】- The bike motor kit delivers 2.1kw (2.58 hp) of output power, reaches speeds up to 5000 rpm, and achieves an impressive top speed of 23.61 mph, making every ride an exhilarating experience
- 🚴【Fuel-Saving Design】- The bicycle motor kit achieves excellent fuel economy – approximately 0.53 gallons per 62.14 miles (reference value) – helping you save on fuel costs while enjoying longer riding range
- 🚴【Easy Starting】- The bicycle engine kit features a user-friendly cdi electronic ignition system that starts the engine easily with a gentle pedal. The practical carburetor ensures smooth and reliable performance in various riding conditions
- 🚴【Smart Riding】- The included electronic speedometer displays speed and mileage, helping you monitor vehicle status and plan your trip in real time. The 0.53-gallon fuel tank capacity eliminates frequent refueling stops, allowing you to enjoy uninterrupted riding
- 🚴【Safe and Controllable】- The manual clutch design has a low failure rate, allowing you to control speed more precisely. The bike engine kit is also compatible with v-brakes and clamp brakes (sold separately). The rubber handle with anti-slip texture minimizes hand fatigue during long rides
- Mount the rear sprocket. The document describes placing rubber packers and backing plates, then tightening the bolts progressively in a star pattern. Check that the sprocket runs true after installation. Do not treat the document’s numerical runout limit as a current universal standard; use the specification supplied for your kit.
- Fit the engine in the frame. Position it using the kit’s spacers or any specified adapter. Check frame and intake clearance before tightening the mount.
- Install the controls. Fit the throttle and clutch controls as directed by the kit manual, checking that cables move freely and do not bind.
- Fit the fuel tank and valve. Secure the tank and connect the fuel valve and line in the arrangement specified for the kit.
- Install the ignition components. Mount the coil and connect the wiring according to the kit diagram. Do not guess at electrical connections if the supplied diagram is missing or unclear.
- Assemble the chain and idler. Fit the drive chain and idler pulley, then check alignment, free movement, and clearance through a full wheel rotation. Use the exact kit’s chain adjustment guidance.
- Fit the exhaust and carburetor. Secure each component as directed. The reproduced instructions also describe assembling the carburetor slide and throttle cable; confirm the parts and routing against your carburetor before connecting them.
Fuel mixture, adjustment, and first start
The Manuals+ reproduction reports a break-in mixture of 16:1 for the first 500 km and 20:1 afterward, along with other setup figures. These are values printed in that reproduced manual, not independently confirmed current specifications. Do not use them unless they match the instructions for your exact engine and kit.
The reproduced start sequence involves opening the fuel valve, priming the carburetor, setting the choke, engaging the clutch, and pedaling. Controls and starting procedures can differ between kits. Follow your actual manual, and do not attempt a start if the throttle, clutch, fuel connections, chain, or ignition wiring are uncertain or not operating correctly.

What the old instructions do not establish
The fitting document is dated January 21, 2008. It does not provide a current compatibility list, verify present-day kit designs or supplied parts, or establish whether a particular bicycle installation is safe. It also does not establish current road-use laws. Legal requirements vary by jurisdiction; check current official rules for your location before operating a motorized bicycle.
An Amazon-hosted PDF titled “Fitting Instructions for A50 and A80 Bicycle Engine Kits” corroborates the document subject, but does not establish current manufacturer status: Fitting Instructions for A50 and A80 Bicycle Engine Kits.
