Lexus TX: prioritize three-row passenger and cargo space
The TX is the clearest fit if your main goal is a family-oriented three-row Lexus. Lexus offers the 2026 TX as the TX 350 turbo gas model, TX 500h hybrid and TX 550h+ plug-in hybrid. Depending on grade, the second row is either a 60:40 bench or captain’s chairs; choose the bench if you need the seven-seat layout. Lexus reports 20.2 cubic feet of cargo space behind the third row and 97 cubic feet with the second and third rows folded. Lexus GX: consider it for rugged-SUV priorities
The 2026 GX Premium listing is the clear seven-seat reference point, but verify the seating on the specific grade you are considering. Lexus lists maximum towing capacity of 9,063 pounds on the GX model page; that is a maximum, not a guarantee for every configuration or load. Check the vehicle’s ratings and towing requirements for your intended setup. Lexus’s description, “The rugged luxury SUV,” is manufacturer positioning rather than an independent assessment. Lexus LX: flagship luxury, with several seat layouts
The LX 600 and LX 700h each have listed seven-seat trims, but the lineup also includes two-row five-seat and four-seat Ultra Luxury arrangements. Verify the exact trim before treating an LX listing as a seven-seater. Lexus calls it “The flagship luxury SUV”; that is the manufacturer’s positioning. The LX model page lists 2026 starting prices of $108,550 for the LX 600 Premium and $121,550 for the LX 700h Luxury.
2026 listed prices: what the figures cover
These are manufacturer-listed prices, not dealer quotes or promises of local inventory or transaction price. The TX figures below come from Lexus’s August 21, 2025 announcement and include the $1,550 delivery, processing and handling fee (DPH). GX and LX figures are starting prices shown on their current Lexus model pages; confirm current pricing and equipment in the live configurator.

How to choose the right seven-seat Lexus
- Confirm the seat count on the exact vehicle. Check the grade and seating layout in the Lexus builder, then verify the vehicle listing. For the TX, a second-row bench is the seven-seat layout; captain’s chairs mean six. For the GX and LX, confirm the particular grade instead of relying on the model name.
- Match the second row to how passengers will use it. Decide whether you need a bench or prefer captain’s chairs, and consider access to the third row. On the LX, check especially carefully for the five-seat and four-seat versions.
- Choose a powertrain by model and use. The TX offers turbo gas, hybrid and plug-in hybrid choices; the LX offers gas and hybrid versions. Confirm GX powertrain details for the exact grade in its listing.
- Compare cargo and towing for your actual needs. Lexus publishes behind-third-row cargo figures for the TX and maximum towing capacity for the GX. They describe different uses, not a like-for-like ranking; check the selected vehicle’s specifications against your passengers, cargo and trailer.
- Check current local pricing and availability. Use the manufacturer’s configurator and dealer inventory to confirm the seat layout, equipment, current price and whether a suitable vehicle is available near you. The model pages do not establish what is on dealer lots today.
