These motorcycles fall into two fundamentally different layouts. The Can-Am models use a reverse-trike configuration with two wheels in front and one driven wheel in back. Harley-Davidson’s trikes use the more familiar traditional arrangement: one front wheel and two rear wheels. That difference affects styling, packaging, handling characteristics, and the type of three-wheel motorcycle each brand builds.

1. Can-Am Ryker
Starting price: $9,699
The Can-Am Ryker is the most accessible model in this group and the clearest choice for a rider who wants an automatic, solo-oriented three-wheel motorcycle without spending touring-bike money. Can-Am positions it as an easy-to-ride and highly customizable vehicle, and the 2026 U.S. range offers either a Rotax 600 ACE or Rotax 900 ACE engine.
- Engine choices: Rotax 600 ACE with 50 horsepower or Rotax 900 ACE with 82 horsepower
- Transmission: Automatic CVT with reverse
- Equipment: ABS, traction control, and stability control
- Storage: 1.85 gallons
- Capacity: One rider
- Wheel layout: Two wheels in front and one in back
The automatic transmission removes clutch and manual gear-shifting duties, which is a major part of the Ryker’s appeal. Its exposed, modular design also makes personalization central to the ownership experience. Buyers can configure the riding position and add accessories, but the low starting price should not be confused with full touring capability.
With only 1.85 gallons of listed storage and seating for one, the Ryker is not the natural substitute for a passenger-oriented touring motorcycle. It is better understood as a recreational, customizable solo vehicle for short trips, commuting, and back-road riding.

Choose the Ryker if your priorities are the lowest purchase price, automatic operation, solo riding, and personalization. Look at the Spyder F3 or RT instead if you regularly carry a passenger, need substantial luggage, or plan extended touring.
2. Can-Am Spyder F3
Starting price: $22,299 for the F3-S; $28,999 for the F3 Limited
The Spyder F3 is Can-Am’s cruiser-oriented three-wheel motorcycle. It sits between the lightweight, solo-focused Ryker and the heavily equipped Spyder RT. The F3 uses the larger 1,330 cc Rotax ACE three-cylinder engine, a six-speed semi-automatic transmission with reverse, and Can-Am’s ABS, traction-control, and stability systems.
The F3-S is the more solo-focused version. Its relaxed riding position and cruiser styling make it a more substantial alternative to the Ryker without moving fully into luxury-tourer territory. The F3 Limited adds the equipment needed for regular two-up travel, including hard luggage, a passenger backrest, heated grips, and 36.8 gallons of listed storage.

- Versatile Transportation: Experience the thrill of a 3-wheel scooter with the STRETCHED TRIKE 150CC, offering a unique blend of stability and maneuverability.
- Powerful Engine: Equipped with a 150cc engine, this scooter delivers ample power for urban commutes and leisure rides.
- Sturdy Construction: Built with a durable frame and high-quality components, ensuring a reliable and long-lasting performance.
- Comfortable Seating: Enjoy a comfortable riding experience with an ergonomically designed seat and ample legroom.
- Easy Handling: Featuring a low center of gravity and responsive steering, the STRETCHED TRIKE 150CC offers exceptional control and handling.
- Engine: 1,330 cc Rotax ACE three-cylinder
- Transmission: Six-speed semi-automatic with reverse
- Storage: Up to 36.8 gallons on the F3 Limited
- Wheel layout: Two wheels in front and one in back
- Versions: F3-S for solo-oriented riding and F3 Limited for two-up touring
The F3 is the middle-ground option in Can-Am’s lineup. It has a larger engine and more substantial equipment than the Ryker, while its cruiser identity keeps it less formal and less touring-focused than the RT. The F3 Limited is particularly useful for riders who want passenger capability and luggage but do not need every feature associated with a dedicated luxury touring model.
Who should choose the Spyder F3?
The F3-S suits a rider who wants a relaxed, higher-powered solo cruiser. The F3 Limited makes more sense for someone who wants a cruiser-style three-wheeler that can also handle two-up trips.
3. Can-Am Spyder RT
Starting price: $27,999 for the RT; $31,999 for the RT Limited
The Spyder RT is Can-Am’s dedicated luxury-touring model. It uses the same basic 1,330 cc Rotax three-cylinder engine and six-speed semi-automatic transmission with reverse found in the F3, but its design and equipment are aimed squarely at long-distance comfort.
- Engine: 1,330 cc Rotax ACE three-cylinder
- Transmission: Six-speed semi-automatic with reverse
- Standard RT storage: 31 gallons
- RT Limited storage: 47 gallons
- Standard RT towing capacity: 400 pounds
- Wheel layout: Two wheels in front and one in back
The standard RT already provides substantially more luggage capacity than the Ryker and is designed around touring rather than recreation. The RT Limited adds self-leveling rear air suspension, heated seats, a passenger backrest, and additional touring equipment. That makes it the more convincing choice for couples or riders who routinely travel with luggage.
One important comparison point is that the RT’s storage figures are quoted in gallons, while Harley-Davidson quotes luggage capacity for the Street Glide 3 Limited in cubic feet. Those numbers are not directly interchangeable because manufacturers may use different measurement conventions. Treat them as model-specific capacity figures rather than a precise cross-brand ranking.
Who should choose the Spyder RT?
The RT is the strongest match for riders who prioritize long-distance comfort, passenger travel, luggage capacity, and factory-built touring equipment. The RT Limited is the version to consider when two-up comfort and maximum storage matter more than keeping the price down.

- [208CC 4-STROKE ENGINE + CVT POWER] A 208cc 4-stroke high-performance engine paired with a CVT continuously variable transmission delivers smooth takeoff and strong pulling power for drifting and off-road riding. Rated at 4.9 kW @ 3600 RPM with chain final drive; reaches speeds up to 31 MPH (varies by rider weight and terrain).
- [SAFETY YOU CAN FEEL] Rear hydraulic disc brake provides responsive stopping, while dual rear stabilizer wheels with a lateral stabilizer bar help reduce wobble for steadier cornering. Wide stance + low seat position support confident control on flat ground. Protective gear recommended; adult supervision for younger riders.
- [HIGH-CARBON STEEL FRAME | BUILT TO LAST] Rugged high-carbon steel chassis is made to take bumps and daily use—sturdy, durable, and ready for backyard tracks. 11x7.10-5 tires with alloy hubs add grip and stability for dirt, gravel, grass, and hard-packed sand riding (private property/closed areas).
- [QUIETER + MORE COMFORTABLE RIDES] A muffler on the exhaust helps cut noise noticeably, and the seat uses dual spring shocks underneath (2 springs) to absorb vibration for a smoother, less-fatiguing ride. Great for longer play sessions at the ranch, campground, or family outdoor gatherings.
- [FITMENT, FUEL & EASY SETUP] Rider height fits about 3'11"–6'7"; max load 331 lb. Recommended fuel: 87+ octane. Engine oil: 10W-30 or 10W-40 4-stroke motorcycle oil. Assembly required—manual + install video + tool kit included, plus 24/7 support. Not street legal; off-road/private property only.
4. Harley-Davidson Road Glide 3
Starting price: $35,399
The Road Glide 3 is Harley-Davidson’s shark-nose-faired three-wheel touring motorcycle. It is aimed at riders who want the brand’s traditional V-twin identity and styling in a trike with a more aggressive aerodynamic fairing design.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsUnlike the Can-Am models, the Road Glide 3 uses one front wheel and two rear wheels. That is not merely a styling difference: it is a different chassis architecture from the two-front-wheel Spyder and Ryker arrangement. Prospective buyers should evaluate the two layouts through an appropriate training course and a dealership test ride where available rather than assuming that one configuration will feel like the other.
For 2026, Harley-Davidson says its trike platform received a redesigned rear suspension with more than double the previous wheel travel, a reduction of 68 pounds in unsprung weight, and a revised reverse system integrated into the chassis. The company presents the Road Glide 3 as a touring-oriented trike with long-distance capability.
- Starting price: $35,399
- Design: Shark-nose fairing
- Wheel layout: One front wheel and two rear wheels
- 2026 chassis updates: Redesigned rear suspension, increased wheel travel, reduced unsprung weight, and revised integrated reverse system
Who should choose the Road Glide 3?
The Road Glide 3 is for riders who specifically want Harley-Davidson styling, a more assertive fairing design, and a traditional rear-axle trike layout. It should not be described as objectively better than a Can-Am: the two brands use different vehicle architectures and appeal to different preferences.
5. Harley-Davidson Street Glide 3 Limited
Starting price: $39,199
The Street Glide 3 Limited is the most expensive model in this selection and Harley-Davidson’s more fully equipped touring option. It combines a Milwaukee-Eight VVT 117 engine with passenger-focused equipment, substantial luggage capacity, and Harley’s Skyline OS connectivity system.

- Engine: Milwaukee-Eight VVT 117
- Listed output: 105 horsepower and 129 lb-ft of torque
- Luggage capacity: 7.1 cubic feet
- Fuel economy: 39 mpg
- Comfort equipment: Heated rider and passenger seats
- Touring equipment: Grand Tour-Pak and Skyline OS connectivity
- Wheel layout: One front wheel and two rear wheels
It also receives the 2026 Harley trike platform updates described for the Road Glide 3, including the redesigned rear suspension and revised reverse system. The Street Glide 3 Limited is therefore less about entering the three-wheel market cheaply and more about getting a complete, premium Harley touring package from the factory.
Its higher price is significant. It costs more than four of the other starting points in this comparison and more than twice the entry price of the Ryker. The justification, for buyers who value it, is the combination of Harley-Davidson branding, engine character, passenger amenities, luggage, fairing-mounted touring equipment, and connectivity.

Who should choose the Street Glide 3 Limited?
Choose it if you want the most fully equipped Harley-Davidson touring experience in a factory-built trike, especially for passenger travel and luggage-heavy trips. If you want Harley styling but do not need the Limited model’s extra equipment, the Road Glide 3 has a lower starting price.
Reverse trike or traditional trike: which layout fits?
Can-Am’s two-front-wheel layout places the extra wheels at the front, while Harley-Davidson’s traditional trike layout places them at the rear. Neither arrangement automatically makes a motorcycle safer, eliminates the possibility of a crash or rollover, or removes the need to learn the vehicle’s controls and handling behavior.
A three-wheel motorcycle also does not necessarily require less skill. Steering, braking, cornering, lane positioning, parking, reversing, and emergency maneuvers can all differ from a conventional two-wheel motorcycle. The best choice is the configuration that you can operate confidently after proper instruction—not simply the one with the greatest number of wheels.

Choose by budget
- Under $15,000: The Ryker is the only model here with a starting price below $10,000.
- About $22,000 to $30,000: The Spyder F3 and Spyder RT cover the cruiser and touring portions of Can-Am’s range.
- Above $35,000: The Harley-Davidson Road Glide 3 and Street Glide 3 Limited target buyers seeking a premium Harley touring platform.
Choose by passenger use
The base Ryker is listed for one rider, so it is not the right starting point for routine two-up travel. The F3 Limited, Spyder RT Limited, and Street Glide 3 Limited are more appropriate when a passenger will regularly ride along. The F3-S is the more solo-oriented F3 variant.
Choose by luggage needs
The Ryker’s 1.85 gallons of storage is adequate only for light carrying. The F3 Limited’s 36.8 gallons, the RT’s 31 gallons, and the RT Limited’s 47 gallons are more relevant to touring. Harley lists the Street Glide 3 Limited at 7.1 cubic feet of luggage capacity. Because the brands use different units and measurement methods, compare the actual luggage layout—trunk, saddlebags, passenger space, and accessory options—in person before buying.
If you plan to store a three-wheeler outdoors or transport it during the off-season, check the manufacturer’s fitment information before buying a model-specific motorcycle trike cover. Wheel layout, fairing size, luggage trunks, windshields, and passenger accessories can all change the required cover dimensions. Can-Am buyers can also review Can-Am accessories for model-specific storage, comfort, touring, and protection equipment; verify that the accessory fits the exact model year and trim.

Licensing, training, and ownership checks

It is also worth taking manufacturer or recognized three-wheel training before riding in traffic. A buyer should practice low-speed turns, braking, reversing, parking, lane positioning, and emergency responses on the actual configuration being purchased.
Bottom line
The Can-Am Ryker is the value and solo-customization choice. The Can-Am Spyder F3 is the cruiser-style middle ground, with the F3 Limited adding meaningful two-up capability. The Can-Am Spyder RT is the better fit for serious long-distance touring and luggage. The Harley-Davidson Road Glide 3 brings Harley’s traditional trike layout and shark-nose styling, while the Street Glide 3 Limited is the premium, passenger-ready Harley touring option.
There is no universal winner. Start with whether you want two front wheels or two rear wheels, then narrow the choice by passenger needs, storage, touring distance, automatic versus semi-automatic operation, and total budget—not by the number of wheels alone.
