How to read these engine figures
Horsepower and torque describe different aspects of output. Peak horsepower is a useful headline comparison for performance, while torque—especially the abundant low-speed torque of a diesel—matters greatly for hauling and working. A high horsepower figure alone does not tell you which vehicle is best for a particular task.
