Toyota Sequoia vs. Chevy Tahoe cargo space
Chevrolet’s manufacturer comparison lists the following cargo volumes for the 2026 Tahoe and 2026 Sequoia. These are published capacity figures, not a guarantee that a particular suitcase, stroller or pet carrier will fit.

How much cargo space is behind the third row?
Chevrolet lists 25.5 cu. ft. for the Tahoe and 22.3 cu. ft. for the Sequoia behind the third row. That makes the Tahoe the larger on paper when all rows are in use. Actual fit depends on the shape and dimensions of the load as well as the vehicle’s configuration, so bring your usual luggage or measure it if a close fit matters.

What changes when you fold the rows?
With the second and third rows folded, Chevrolet lists the Tahoe at 122.7 cu. ft.; its 2026 Tahoe brochure identifies that maximum with both rows folded and notes that cargo/load capacity is limited by weight and distribution. Chevrolet’s comparison lists 86.9 cu. ft. for the Sequoia with the rear seats down. Toyota also lists that Sequoia figure in its comparison table. Check the exact trim and layout before relying on a published maximum.
Which SUV seats nine?
Chevrolet lists the Tahoe with seating for up to nine, while Toyota says the Sequoia seats up to eight with a second-row bench or up to seven with second-row captain’s chairs. Maximum capacity depends on trim and configuration, so confirm the seat layout on the specific vehicle rather than assuming every example has the maximum.

Is the Sequoia third row comfortable?
The published materials establish adjustability, not a comfort winner. Toyota describes the Sequoia’s third row as sliding and power-folding on its 2026 model page; its 2026 Sequoia brochure also describes the row as reclining. Toyota says moving the seat forward or back lets owners customize the balance between passenger and cargo space. The Toyota comparison dimensions section does not provide a directly comparable set of third-row measurements for both vehicles, so the available figures do not show which row is more comfortable.

Comfort varies with the passenger, seat position and journey. Before choosing, sit in the third row of both SUVs and check:
- How easy it is to reach the row and get back out.
- Headroom, knee clearance and foot placement with the second row set for its expected occupants.
- Whether the seat support and recline feel suitable for the people who will ride there.
- How much cargo remains when the third row is positioned for passenger space.
- Whether the row works for the trips you expect, especially if passengers will sit there for longer journeys.
Try the exact trim and seating configuration you plan to buy. The goal is to judge the real seating position and access, not infer comfort from a cargo-volume specification.

How to choose between them
The published comparison favors the Tahoe for cargo volume behind each row and maximum listed seating capacity. The Sequoia’s sliding, reclining third row and adjustable cargo shelf offer a way to tailor its passenger-and-cargo arrangement. Which matters more depends on how you use the SUV.
