The 2026 Toyota bZ Woodland starts at $45,300 in the U.S., and its case is straightforward: standard dual-motor AWD, 375 horsepower, useful cargo space and outdoor-oriented hardware. Its EPA-estimated range is 281 miles on standard all-season tires, or 260 miles with optional all-terrain tires. Whether the price is worth it depends less on the Toyota badge alone than on how much you value that combination—and whether its cabin and charging trade-offs work for you.
What does the 2026 bZ Woodland cost?
Toyota’s current U.S. model page lists a base MSRP of $45,300 for the bZ Woodland and $47,400 for the bZ Woodland Premium. These are listed base prices, not out-the-door quotes; dealer charges, taxes and other costs can change what you pay. Toyota’s February 17, 2026 announcement also listed a $45,300 starting MSRP, excluding dealer processing and handling. Toyota’s current bZ Woodland page is the relevant reference for listed pricing.
The Drive’s February 17 first-drive review reported a $46,750 starting price. That launch-day figure differs from Toyota’s current listed base MSRP; the available information does not establish why. For the current model-page price, use Toyota’s figure.
What the Premium adds
Toyota lists JBL nine-speaker audio, ventilated front seats, driver-seat memory, front radiant heaters and a panoramic glass roof with a power sunshade among the Premium’s additions. The $2,100 difference between the two listed base MSRPs buys those features; whether it is worthwhile comes down to how much you value them.

What do you get for the price?
Every bZ Woodland has dual-motor AWD, X-MODE and Grip Control, with 375 combined horsepower. Toyota says X-MODE optimizes brake control and power delivery, while Grip Control modulates motor power at low speeds in adverse conditions. The Woodland also has 8.4 inches of ground clearance and a maximum listed towing capacity of 3,500 pounds. These are capability specifications, not a promise that the vehicle is suited to every trail or towing setup.
Toyota estimates 0–60 mph in 4.4 seconds. In its first-drive report, The Drive described the Woodland as quick, with light, precise steering, a soft ride and a relatively quiet cabin. Those are impressions from a short media drive, not results from a long-term ownership test. Toyota’s specifications and 2026 announcement cover the published figures.

What the first off-road drive showed—and did not
The Drive reports that its reviewer drove a Toyota-arranged light off-road course near Ojai, California, over uneven tracks and obstacles. The Woodland got through the course slowly. That is evidence of a successful event drive on light terrain, not an independent extreme off-road assessment, a durability evaluation or proof of long-term performance.
How much range does it get?
Toyota gives the bZ Woodland an EPA-estimated range of 281 miles with standard all-season tires. Optional all-terrain tires lower that estimate to 260 miles. Neither number guarantees real-world distance: Toyota cautions that weather, driving style and other factors affect range. The tire choice alone represents a 21-mile difference between the published estimates, so shoppers choosing the all-terrain option should account for it in their plans.

How long does charging take?
The Woodland has a 74.7-kWh battery, a NACS charging port and an 11-kW onboard AC charger. Toyota describes DC fast charging from 10% to 80% in around 30 minutes under ideal conditions, and Level 2 charging from 10% to 100% in around seven hours. These are approximate manufacturer figures; actual charging time depends on conditions and the charging equipment used.
A dual-voltage 120V/240V charging cable is included. A separate Level 2 charging station may therefore not be necessary for every owner, but the included cable does not by itself establish that a home’s electrical setup is suitable for the charging speed or installation an owner wants. Check the electrical circuit and equipment compatibility before relying on a particular home-charging arrangement. Is the Woodland practical for cargo and passengers?
Toyota lists 74.3 cubic feet of cargo capacity with the second row folded, compared with 67.1 cubic feet for the regular bZ. Standard roof rails provide another way to carry gear, and Toyota lists accessory crossbars as available. The Woodland’s cabin also has generous rear-passenger space, according to The Drive’s reviewer.
That reviewer also found the small-item storage sparse, noted the lack of both a frunk and glovebox, and said the instrument display could be obscured by the steering wheel from some seating positions. These are specific first-drive observations; shoppers should check their own seating position and storage needs in person.

How does it compare with other electric crossovers?
The relevant alternatives named in The Drive’s February 2026 comparison are the Subaru Trailseeker, Hyundai Ioniq 5 XRT and Volvo EX30 Cross Country. The Drive said the Trailseeker was expected to cost about $5,000 less with less equipment, the Ioniq 5 XRT had an edge in charging speed but less rear-seat-down cargo space, and the EX30 Cross Country was shorter and cost more. Those comparisons are tied to that publication date; current prices, trim equipment and offers are not established here, so they are not a current-price ranking.
For a useful shopping comparison, line up the exact trims and check the same practical measures for each: transaction price and included equipment, EPA range and tire configuration, DC charging capability, cargo capacity, AWD and off-pavement needs, and overall vehicle size. A lower starting price is not an apples-to-apples win if it buys less equipment or a different capability mix.
So, how much is the Toyota badge worth?
The available evidence supports a value judgment about the Woodland’s equipment and first-drive character, not a quantified premium for the badge. The case for the $45,300 base model is its standard AWD, strong published power, cargo capacity, towing rating and ground clearance. The counterpoints are its price relative to alternatives, lower range with optional all-terrain tires, and cabin-storage details that may matter in daily use.
The first-drive review suggests an engaging, quick electric crossover that can handle a light off-road course. It does not establish long-term reliability, ownership costs or a brand-related resale advantage. Buyers deciding whether Toyota’s name alone merits extra money do not have evidence here to put a dollar figure on that benefit.
