It is the first Turbo S with Porsche’s T-Hybrid system: a 3.6-litre boxer engine paired with two electric exhaust-gas turbochargers, an electric motor integrated into the eight-speed PDK and a 1.9-kWh high-voltage battery. Porsche quotes 701 hp (523 kW) for the U.S. market, and 711 PS (523 kW) in metric-market material. The new model was announced as both a coupe and a Cabriolet.
What is new on the 992.2 Porsche 911 Turbo S?
The 992.2 is the refreshed generation of the 911, and the Turbo S is its range-topping performance model. The defining change is its new hybrid drivetrain, which Porsche says makes this the most powerful production 911 to date. That description and the performance figures below are Porsche claims, not independent test results.
The car made its world premiere at IAA Mobility in Munich on September 7, 2025. Porsche announced coupe and Cabriolet versions. The name “992.2” identifies this updated version of the 992-generation 911; it does not mean the car was first revealed in 2026.
How much horsepower does the 992.2 Turbo S make?
Porsche’s U.S. launch release gives the new Turbo S 701 hp (523 kW), a 61-hp increase over the previous model, and 590 lb-ft of torque. Porsche’s metric-market press material gives 711 PS (523 kW) and 800 Nm. The hp and PS figures are different unit conventions for the same stated power in kilowatts, not competing output estimates. Porsche Newsroom USA and the Porsche technical press kit specify the figures for their respective markets.

How does the Turbo S T-Hybrid system work?
Porsche describes the setup as a performance-oriented 400-volt T-Hybrid system. Its main components are:
- A 3.6-litre flat-six boxer engine.
- Two electric exhaust-gas turbochargers, or eTurbos. Porsche says they use exhaust energy recuperation and improve response.
- An electric motor integrated into the eight-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission.
- A compact 1.9-kWh high-voltage battery.
This is a performance hybrid system. The cited Porsche specifications do not establish plug-in charging or an electric-only driving range, so neither should be assumed from the battery capacity alone. Porsche’s U.S. launch announcement and technical press kit describe the hardware and its role.

How fast is the 2026 Porsche 911 Turbo S?
Porsche quotes different acceleration measures for different markets. The U.S. product page lists 0–60 mph in 2.4 seconds with the Sport Chrono Package; European press material gives 0–100 km/h in 2.5 seconds for the coupe. These are manufacturer figures using different speed intervals. Porsche lists a 200-mph (322-km/h) top speed with summer tires. See the Porsche USA Turbo S page for its equipment qualifications.
Porsche’s Nürburgring development time
Porsche says a lightly camouflaged Turbo S completed the Nürburgring Nordschleife in 7:03.92 during final development drives in autumn 2024, about 14 seconds quicker than its predecessor. This is a manufacturer-reported development lap time, not an independent test. Porsche brand ambassador Jörg Bergmeister, who was involved in development and set the time, said the car felt more agile and had more grip; that is his assessment in Porsche’s launch announcement.
