The spy-sighting framing is now historical: the manufacturer has confirmed the new designs and several features, but the original spy-photo report and its images have not been identified here, so camouflage-era details cannot be verified.
What the spy sightings led to
The March 31, 2026 world premiere turned the GLE and GLE Coupé from anticipated updates into officially revealed models. Mercedes-Benz later said orders were open from May 28. Those dates establish the reveal and ordering timeline; they do not establish when every market will receive vehicles or which configurations will be offered there. Mercedes-Benz’s world-premiere announcement and its May 28 order announcement provide the global context.
Because the original spy-photo report was not identified, no particular camouflage pattern, prototype detail, or sighting date can be attributed to it. The confirmed design details below come from Mercedes-Benz launch announcements, rather than an independent assessment of styling.
How the updated GLE looks
GLE SUV
Mercedes-Benz USA describes the updated SUV with twin-star headlamps and a grille featuring an illuminated central Mercedes-Benz star; contour lighting is available. These are the principal front-end details confirmed in its launch material. Mercedes-Benz USA’s GLE announcement does not establish how every trim or market configuration will look.

GLE Coupé
The Coupé gets a larger grille with an illuminated central star and chrome frame, a revised front fascia, and twin-star headlamps. At the rear, Mercedes-Benz specifies taillights with stylized three-dimensional star elements. The release also lists two new 20-inch AMG wheel designs. Mercedes-Benz USA’s Coupé announcement is the source for these details.
What is shared inside and in the technology
For both body styles, Mercedes-Benz USA lists the MBUX Superscreen as standard: a front-cabin display arrangement with three 12.3-inch screens. MB.OS is the software platform the company says enables over-the-air vehicle-software updates. Equipment and connected-service availability can vary with vehicle configuration and market.

Mercedes-Benz describes MB.OS as making the GLE “an even more intelligent companion that understands, anticipates and evolves with the driver.” That is the company’s promotional description, not an independent finding about the system’s capabilities.
Assistance systems and suspension
Mercedes-Benz’s 2026 US launch material lists 10 exterior cameras, up to five radar sensors, and 12 ultrasonic sensors. These are manufacturer-published hardware counts; they do not by themselves establish the performance or safety effectiveness of any assistance feature.

Available AIRMATIC suspension is described by Mercedes-Benz as using cloud-based damping that can adjust before a bump. That is a manufacturer description of the system, not a measured ride-quality conclusion. The company also says DIGITAL LIGHT can consume up to 50 percent less energy than its predecessor; this is its comparison, not an independently verified result.
What is known about power and capability
GLE SUV figures
Mercedes-Benz USA lists towing capacity of up to 7,700 pounds for the GLE in its 2026 launch announcement. The maximum is manufacturer-published and should not be read as applying to every configuration or market.

GLE 450 4MATIC Coupé
For the US-market GLE 450 4MATIC Coupé, Mercedes-Benz USA quotes 375 horsepower and 413 lb-ft of torque, with an estimated 0–60 mph time of 4.9 seconds. The acceleration figure is explicitly an estimate from the manufacturer.
Mercedes-Benz’s global premiere page says the European energy-consumption and emissions figures for the GLE 450 e were provisional forecasts at the time; confirmed values from an officially recognized testing organization, EC type approval, or certificate of conformity were not then available. Treat those figures accordingly rather than as final certified ratings.

Order timing and market-specific pricing
Mercedes-Benz announced on May 28, 2026 that orders had opened. Its release gives German starting prices for diesel versions, including VAT and excluding VAT. These are Germany-specific figures from that announcement, not US prices:
- GLE 350 d 4MATIC: €77,365 excluding VAT or €92,064 including VAT.
- GLE 350 d 4MATIC Coupé: €83,330 excluding VAT or €99,162 including VAT.
Those prices are tied to the German market and the May 28 announcement; they should not be used to infer US pricing or availability.
What remains unconfirmed by the spy-sighting framing
The official reveal supplies the design and feature information that can now be stated with confidence. Without the original spy-photo report, its date and image-specific observations remain unverified. And although Mercedes has announced ordering and published selected specifications, the cited releases do not establish a complete price list, delivery schedule, or equipment matrix for every market.
