The $30,430 figure in the original headline was Mazda’s January 27 announced price; Mazda later raised all 2026 MX-5 and MX-5 RF MSRPs by $300, effective September 15.
What is the 2026 Mazda MX-5 Miata’s current starting price?
Mazda USA lists these current starting MSRPs for the 2026 model year:

These are manufacturer’s suggested retail prices, not guaranteed dealer transaction prices or out-the-door totals. Mazda’s pricing information excludes destination and handling, taxes, title, and license fees, and Mazda says dealers set actual sale prices. Mazda’s 2026 MX-5 Miata page lists a $1,315 destination and handling charge, or $1,360 in Alaska.
Why the headline price changed
Mazda North American Operations announced a $30,430 starting MSRP for the 2026 soft-top Sport with a six-speed manual on January 27, 2026. That is the original price, not the current listed starting figure. Mazda’s newsroom archive says the MSRPs of all 2026 MX-5 and MX-5 RF models increased by $300 effective September 15, 2026. Mazda’s current consumer page now lists the Sport at $30,730.

The original announcement also listed the Club and Grand Touring configurations, but Mazda’s current consumer page presents starting prices by trim rather than a complete revised price matrix for every roof, transmission, and package combination. The table above therefore gives Mazda’s currently published trim starting prices without calculating unpublished line-item prices.
What changes between MX-5 trims and configurations?
Sport
The Sport is the entry trim and is offered as a soft top with a six-speed manual transmission. Its original January MSRP was $30,430; Mazda’s current listed starting MSRP is $30,730.

Club
The Club adds sport-focused equipment and is manual-only. Mazda’s January release listed the soft-top Club at $33,930 and the RF Club at $41,900 before the September increase. It also listed a $5,050 Brembo/BBS/Recaro package for the soft-top Club; the package was included on the RF Club in that release.
Grand Touring
The Grand Touring adds comfort-oriented equipment and is the only trim offered with either a six-speed manual or an available six-speed automatic. Mazda’s January release listed the soft-top manual at $35,730 and automatic at $36,650; RF prices were $38,450 with the manual and $39,420 with the automatic. Tan Nappa leather was a $300 option in that original release.

Soft top versus RF
The RF is the retractable-fastback body style. Mazda’s January configuration list included RF prices for Club and Grand Touring, but not Sport. The current consumer page’s trim starting prices should not be read as a full current RF-versus-soft-top comparison.

Mazda describes the 2026 model as receiving targeted interior refinements. The powertrain remains a 2.0-liter Skyactiv-G four-cylinder rated at 181 horsepower and 151 lb-ft of torque. Sport and Club are six-speed-manual-only; Grand Touring offers a manual or available six-speed automatic.
