The 2026 Mazda CX-70 starts at $42,750 before destination and fees, and its five-seat cabin, available upscale trim equipment, and 280-hp turbocharged inline-six make it a credible premium-oriented choice. But Mazda’s specifications and pricing do not prove it rides, isolates noise, or costs to own like a luxury SUV. Whether it is worth the money depends on the trim you choose, the features you value, and whether you need two rows or three.
What does a 2026 Mazda CX-70 cost?
Mazda’s U.S. trim page lists the following starting MSRPs for 2026 CX-70 models with an inline-six powertrain. These are not out-the-door prices. Mazda says the figures exclude taxes, title, license fees, and destination; the listed destination charge is $1,645, or $1,690 in Alaska. Dealer pricing, installed options, and offers can change the amount you pay. Confirm the current figure and vehicle configuration with a local dealer.

These current prices are listed on Mazda’s 2026 CX-70 trim and specification page. They replace the earlier figures in Mazda’s October 7, 2025 pricing announcement, which said prices would increase by $200 to $500 effective May 4, 2026, before destination and other charges. That announcement is useful for model-year pricing history, not as the current price list: Mazda’s 2026 CX-70 pricing announcement.
Which CX-70 trim is the best value?
3.3 Turbo Preferred: the price-conscious starting point
The Preferred is the least expensive listed trim at $42,750 before destination and fees. Mazda’s 2025 model-year announcement describes a 12.3-inch Mazda Connect display, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless phone charging, Alexa Built-in, and a power liftgate among its standard amenities. It also says the 2026 Preferred adds ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, and a heated steering wheel. These are manufacturer-reported features; check the current trim specification and the actual vehicle’s equipment before buying.

Turbo Premium and Premium Plus: compare the feature list, not just the badge
The Turbo Premium starts at $46,780 and Turbo Premium Plus at $49,570. The available official information establishes the prices but does not provide enough detail here to quantify the value of each upgrade. Compare the current equipment lists against your priorities—such as seat materials, driver-assistance equipment, and convenience features—before paying the difference.
Turbo S trims: higher-output choice, higher price
The Turbo S Premium starts at $53,440, while the Turbo S Premium Plus starts at $56,870. Mazda identifies these as higher-output inline-six models; its Premium Plus equipment includes Nappa leather. The higher starting price may make sense if the added performance and trim equipment matter to you, but it is not evidence by itself that the vehicle matches a luxury-brand SUV in ride comfort, cabin quietness, or ownership costs.

How does the CX-70 drive, and what is its fuel economy?
The regular 3.3 Turbo pairs a 3.3-liter inline-six with a mild-hybrid system. Mazda reports 280 horsepower and 332 lb-ft of torque on regular fuel, with EPA-estimated fuel economy of 24 mpg city, 28 mpg highway, and 25 mpg combined. Those figures describe the regular Turbo; Mazda’s current page lists 25 mpg combined for Turbo and Turbo S models. Check the exact configuration’s rating when comparing trims.
The mild hybrid provides assistance but cannot propel the CX-70 on electric power alone, according to Mazda. The lineup also includes higher-output Turbo S models and an e-Skyactiv plug-in hybrid (PHEV). A PHEV can be charged externally and travel farther on electric power, but its actual fuel economy and electric range depend on the vehicle and driving conditions. MPG and MPGe are different measures, so compare them in the context of your charging access and driving routine rather than treating them as interchangeable.

How practical is the CX-70 for passengers, cargo, and towing?
The CX-70 is a two-row, five-seat SUV. Mazda advertises up to 75.3 cubic feet of cargo space, along with underfloor storage. The “up to” cargo figure is a maximum, not a promise that every seating and cargo arrangement will provide that volume. See Mazda’s CX-70 product page for its current product information.
Mazda also advertises towing of up to 5,000 pounds when properly equipped. That maximum depends on the specific vehicle’s configuration and towing requirements; check the vehicle’s documentation and equipment before planning to tow a particular load. It is not a rating to assume for every CX-70.

Does the CX-70 deliver a luxury SUV experience for less?
