Mazda’s January 13, 2026 U.S. pricing announcement lists these starting MSRPs. They are manufacturer-published starting prices, not guaranteed transaction prices.

The listed MSRP excludes $1,595 for destination and handling, or $1,640 in Alaska, as well as taxes, title, and additional fees. Mazda says the destination and handling charge was updated effective August 11, 2026. Premium paint colors are listed at $595. Dealers set their own sale prices, so check a local written quote for the vehicle’s actual total. Mazda’s pricing announcement has the published figures and exclusions.
What the higher trims add
Mazda’s U.S. model page highlights a clear equipment distinction between Premium and Premium Plus. Compare the features you will use against the price difference rather than assuming each trim adds only cosmetic upgrades.

Mazda describes the touchscreen as available, and the equipment descriptions should be checked against the exact vehicle configuration when requesting a quote. Its 2026 CX-5 model page provides trim and feature details.
When did the 2026 CX-5 reach dealers?
Mazda’s July 2025 reveal forecast an early-2026 launch. Its January 13, 2026 pricing announcement said CX-5 2.5 S vehicles would go on sale “in the coming months.” Both statements are dated forecasts. As of October 4, 2026, Mazda’s U.S. site presents the 2026 model and offers build, quote, and nearby-vehicle actions, but those pages do not establish nationwide stock or availability at a particular dealership. Check Mazda’s nearby-vehicle search or contact local dealers for current inventory.
U.S. engine, drivetrain, and fuel economy
Mazda’s U.S. vehicle information lists the launch configuration with a Skyactiv-G 2.5-liter four-cylinder rated at 187 horsepower and 186 lb-ft of torque, a six-speed automatic transmission, and standard i-Activ all-wheel drive. Mazda gives EPA-estimated fuel economy of 24 mpg city, 30 mpg highway, and 26 mpg combined; actual mileage varies. These figures apply to Mazda’s U.S. model information, not necessarily other markets or future powertrain versions.
Mazda’s July 2025 reveal said a hybrid powertrain using its hybrid system with a Skyactiv-Z engine was planned for 2027. That dated plan is not evidence of a hybrid 2026 CX-5 being available. See Mazda’s July 2025 reveal for the announcement.

How the new generation differs in size and technology
Mazda identifies the 2026 model as the CX-5’s third generation. In its July 2025 comparison with the predecessor, the company said the vehicle is 4.5 inches longer overall and in wheelbase, and more than half an inch wider. Mazda also described the rear cargo area as almost two inches longer and over an inch higher, with lift-in height reduced by more than half an inch. The U.S. model page advertises an available 15.6-inch touchscreen and Google Built-in, complimentary for one year with the Mazda Connected Services trial. Mazda also says MyMazda remote functions, including remote engine start, are complimentary for one year. Confirm post-trial subscription terms with Mazda, since service terms can change. The model page also lists standard AWD and safety and driver-assistance features; the reviewed manufacturer information does not establish an independent safety rating for the 2026 model.

- Ask for a written total that itemizes destination, taxes, title, dealer fees, and any dealer-added charges.
- Check whether the dealer has the vehicle in stock, has an allocation, or is quoting a future delivery; the historical launch forecasts do not answer that question.
