How much did Hyundai cut the 2026 IONIQ 5’s price?
Hyundai Motor America announced an average reduction of $9,155 across the standard 2026 IONIQ 5 models in its comparison. The figures are MSRP changes—not a promise that buyers will pay that much less at a dealership. Hyundai’s table excludes freight, tax, title and license fees, and the company says dealer prices and freight charges may vary. The listed 2026 freight charge is $1,600. Prices and reductions in the table are Hyundai Motor America’s announced U.S. MSRPs for the 2025-to-2026 comparison; they exclude freight and other fees. The largest listed reduction is $9,800, for the SEL in either drivetrain.
What does the $35,000 starting price include?
The $35,000 figure is the 2026 SE RWD Standard Range’s MSRP, not an out-the-door price. Add Hyundai’s stated $1,600 freight charge for a basic MSRP-plus-freight figure of $36,600, before tax, title, license, dealer charges or other applicable costs. Hyundai cautions that freight and actual dealer prices may vary, so request a local written quote before comparing offers.

The published comparison does not establish what a buyer will pay after negotiation, financing offers, trade-in value, regional incentives or any tax credit. Check those separately for your location and purchase date rather than treating the MSRP reduction as a guaranteed saving.
How much range does each 2026 IONIQ 5 get?
Hyundai’s current U.S. overview gives EPA-estimated range by trim and drivetrain. These estimates are not guarantees of real-world distance, and Hyundai says specifications can change. The 318-mile maximum applies to selected rear-wheel-drive trims, not the whole lineup. Hyundai’s 2026 IONIQ 5 overview is the source for these estimates.

For a meaningful trim comparison, weigh the local price including freight, drivetrain, the EPA estimate for that exact version and included equipment—not just the lowest advertised starting MSRP.
What else changed for 2026?
Hyundai says every 2026 IONIQ 5 includes a dual-amperage Level 1/Level 2 combination charger. That is relevant when budgeting for home charging: a separate Level 2 unit is an optional setup choice, not an automatically required additional purchase. A dedicated home charger may suit a household’s charging needs, but check vehicle compatibility and installation requirements before choosing one.

Hyundai also identifies Sage Silver Matte as a new color and says Ultimate Red and Cosmic Blue Pearl are available across the lineup. These updates accompany the price revision; they do not change the MSRP comparisons above.
Is the IONIQ 5 N included in the price cuts?
No. Hyundai announced the 2026 IONIQ 5 N separately from the standard-lineup table. The N’s announced starting MSRP is $59,900, excluding a $1,600 destination charge, and Hyundai described it as a $6,300 reduction from the prior model year. The N announcement also lists an NACS charge port, included CCS-to-NACS adapters for Level 2 AC and DC fast charging, an included dual-amperage combination charger and ten selectable N Drift Optimizer stages. What the announced cut does—and does not—tell buyers
Hyundai president and CEO of Hyundai Motor North America Randy Parker described the change as a pricing realignment intended to deliver technology and innovation. That is Hyundai’s stated positioning, not independent evidence of value or an explanation of market conditions. The announcement establishes lower published MSRPs; it does not establish a particular transaction price, buyer savings after incentives, or the reason for the reductions.
