In a later manufacturer-reported test, it ran from 0 to 60 mph in 1.68 seconds and covered the quarter-mile in 8.675 seconds at 159 mph on a prepped surface. Those are Chevrolet’s acceleration results under stated conditions—not an independently established ranking of the fastest Corvette by every possible measure.
What makes the ZR1X different from the ZR1?
The ZR1X adds a front electric drive unit to the mid-engine Corvette’s rear-drive formula. Its 5.5-liter LT7 twin-turbo V8 sends power to the rear wheels through an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission, while an electric motor drives the front axle. The result is electrified all-wheel drive and Chevrolet’s combined output of 1,250 hp.
Chevrolet rates the V8 at 1,064 hp and the front electric drive unit at 186 hp. The ZR1X is therefore a hybrid, not a fully electric Corvette. It does not require plug-in charging: Chevrolet says regenerative operation charges its 1.9-kWh battery. The front motor can provide power through 160 mph before disconnecting, according to the company. Chevrolet’s June 2025 reveal describes the layout and output.
How fast is the 2026 Corvette ZR1X?
Chevrolet’s June 2025 reveal gave estimates of less than two seconds from 0 to 60 mph and less than nine seconds for the quarter-mile on a closed course. Those estimates should not be confused with the test results the company reported later.

In a January 13, 2026 announcement, Chevrolet said testing culminated in October 2025 at US 131 Motorsports Park. On a prepped surface, the ZR1X recorded 1.68 seconds to 60 mph and an 8.675-second quarter-mile at 159 mph. Chevrolet said the run used pump gas, standard-equipment tires and the production 50-state street-legal engine calibration.
Chevrolet also reported different results on an unprepped surface with the available ZTK package: 1.89 seconds to 60 mph and an 8.99-second quarter-mile. The conditions and package matter; neither result should be treated as a universal time for every ZR1X configuration or surface. These are manufacturer-reported figures, not independent instrumented test results. Chevrolet’s performance announcement gives the test context.

What is the ZR1X’s track hardware?
The ZR1X’s case is not based on acceleration alone. GM describes standard J59 carbon-ceramic brakes with 16.5-inch rotors at all four corners, paired with ten-piston front and six-piston rear calipers. GM also identifies three power strategies—Endurance, Qualifying and Push-to-Pass—indicating that the car’s power delivery is designed for more than one track-use scenario. The names alone do not establish a lap-time advantage. GM’s technical overview covers the brakes and strategies.
2026 Corvette ZR1X prices and configurations
Chevrolet announced the following U.S. manufacturer’s suggested retail prices for the 2026 model year. Each listed price includes $1,995 destination freight; taxes, title, license, dealer fees and options are additional. These announced MSRPs are not quotes for current dealer transactions, and the dealer sets the final price.

Chevrolet also listed a Quail Silver Limited Edition at $241,395 before delivery fees, exclusive to the 3LZ convertible. The edition’s specified equipment included Michelin Pilot Cup 2R tires, carbon-fiber aerodynamic components, higher spring rates and modified chassis-control calibrations. When and where is the 2026 ZR1X built?
Chevrolet said 2026 ZR1X production began in December 2025 at GM’s Bowling Green Assembly Plant in Kentucky. The company says the car uses parts sourced in the United States and globally. The January 2026 announcement reports the production timing.

What Chevrolet’s “fastest Corvette ever” claim means
The strongest documented basis for the headline’s speed claim is acceleration: Chevrolet reported a 1.68-second 0–60-mph run and an 8.675-second quarter-mile at 159 mph on a prepped surface. That makes the ZR1X a striking performance milestone by Chevrolet’s published figures. The evidence here does not establish an independent all-around speed ranking, such as a verified top-speed comparison across every Corvette generation.
