Toyota added two grades to the 2025 Grand Highlander lineup: a gas or hybrid LE and the Hybrid Nightshade Edition. Toyota’s U.S. model page lists base MSRPs from $40,860 for the gas LE to $58,775 for the Hybrid MAX Platinum. Those are starting prices, not evidence that prices fell year over year: Toyota’s 2025 announcement does not provide a like-for-like 2024 comparison.
How much does the 2025 Toyota Grand Highlander cost?
Toyota’s U.S. 2025 model page lists ten configurations with base MSRPs between $40,860 and $58,775. The least expensive is the gas LE; the most expensive is the Hybrid MAX Platinum. Toyota’s November 2024 announcement gives starting MSRPs for selected configurations, while its model page shows the broader lineup.

Base MSRP is not an out-the-door quote. Options and paint, destination and handling, dealer fees or installed items, taxes, registration, local inventory, and negotiated price can affect what a buyer pays. The available official Toyota material supports a lower entry point in a larger lineup, but it does not establish a year-over-year price drop. Toyota’s November 4, 2024 announcement lists 2025 starting MSRPs, not a comparable 2024-versus-2025 price table. To determine whether a particular version became cheaper, compare the same powertrain, grade, drivetrain, and included equipment across both model years. Without that matching comparison, “prices tumble” overstates what the published figures show.

What changed in the 2025 trim lineup?
LE: the new lower-entry grade
Toyota added the LE for 2025 with a 2.4-liter turbo gas engine or a 2.5-liter hybrid. Toyota says electronic on-demand all-wheel drive is standard on the LE. The LE has standard seating for eight, three-zone climate control, and a 12.3-inch multimedia touchscreen; confirm exact equipment for the specific configuration with Toyota’s grade details.
Hybrid Nightshade: a new Hybrid grade
The Hybrid Nightshade Edition joins the 2025 range as a Hybrid grade. Toyota lists its base MSRP at $52,610 and estimated fuel economy at 36 city/32 highway MPG. Its name and trim positioning distinguish it from the gas and Hybrid MAX versions; it is not a fourth powertrain.

Which powertrain and trim should you compare?
The lineup spans three powertrains. Toyota reports 265 horsepower for the 2.4-liter turbo gas engine, 245 horsepower for the 2.5-liter Hybrid, and 362 horsepower plus 400 lb-ft of torque for the turbocharged Hybrid MAX system. The listed fuel-economy estimates and prices vary by configuration, so compare the version you would actually buy rather than assuming every grade has the same drivetrain or equipment.

- Gas: Compare the lower starting cost of the LE with the higher grades’ equipment and the listed estimates for each configuration.
- Hybrid: Compare the Hybrid LE and XLE against the gas versions if fuel economy is a priority; Toyota’s listed estimates are higher for these configurations.
- Hybrid MAX: Consider this powertrain if the published 362-hp output is important, while accounting for its higher base prices and lower listed MPG estimates than the regular Hybrid.
Before choosing, verify whether the specific grade is front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, whether AWD is standard or optional, seating layout, and which features are included. Toyota’s figures are configuration-specific, and the listed base price alone does not settle those questions.

- Choose the exact grade and powertrain, then confirm drivetrain and seating layout on Toyota’s grade-specific equipment information.
- Use the base MSRP as a starting point, then ask the dealer for an itemized local quote that includes destination and handling, dealer processing, options, installed accessories, taxes, and registration.
- Check local inventory and offers; availability and dealer-installed items can change the actual transaction.
- Compare any 2024 price with the same 2025 configuration and included equipment before calling a difference a price cut.
Toyota’s 2025 page also states maximums of 5,000 pounds of towing, 97.5 cubic feet of cargo capacity with rear rows folded, and seating for up to eight. These are maximum or configuration-dependent figures, not specifications guaranteed for every trim.
